Congratulations and now stay on track! I am so glad you succeeded in reaching your goal. Now is the work to keep that weight. I weigh myself every week and then adjust my food intake or exercise and sometimes both. Linda from bean town

emoticon on meeting your goal!!! emoticon You should be so proud of yourself. I lost another 5 lbs after meeting my goal. I wasn't really trying, it's just where my body settled at.

Good game plan for maintenance! Yay for you...YOU DID IT!

Congratulations on successfully reaching your goal!
This week marks my 1 year of maintenance. However, with the holiday's and a bit of over confidence I gained back 5 lbs. UGH! I am still UNDER my maintenance goal, but not my personal ideal which I reached 'accidentally' after I went into the maintenance phase.

I lost another 10 lbs. just by maintaining my new eating habits and picking up more activity in the spring. I liked that bonus loss, but then, I lost another 6 pounds and more than I wanted, so started into a big juggling act of eating more/eating less trying to get it just right.

I've realized, for me, my addictive compulsions are just subdued and raring to relapse so I realized early on I MUST not let my guard down too much and must always be mindful of my eating. The biggest, hardest challenge is reminding myself that I am worth it.

Update! NO MORE Wiggle room on my weight! Still figuring out how to keep balance and stay in charge. Staying active but could step it up again.

My focus is health AND fitness! And LOSING 10 lbs. again!
(I'm STILL getting
there . . . )

emoticon Thank you all for your comments, for sharing in my celebration, and for the good advice. I liked what a couple of you said about trying a new weight on. That makes a lot of sense, especially because it has been a long, long time since I have been this weight, and also because I am older now and know a healthy weight might be a little different than what is was when I was younger. I don't know for sure where I will end up, but the one thing I do know for sure is that it won't be at any higher weight than I am right now! emoticon

Many congratulations on reaching your initial goal! You can absolutely consider yourself a maintainer now. Think of this as a testing period where you try to figure out exactly where you'd like to stay. I continued to lose weight for a few months after reaching my initial goal, but still consider hitting that initial number to be my maintenance anniversary. It marks the day I achieved a healthy BMI and that was my main goal. After that, refining my maintenance lifestyle has dictated where my weight is rather than the other way around and I'm becoming more and more comfortable with that idea as time goes on.

My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since.

doing the Happy Dance with you. there is NOTHING so wonderful as reaching that goal - except maybe realizing each month that you're still there. So you do have something to look forward to.

You try on a new weight the same way you would try on clothing: see how it feels. You'll know a good fit when you feel it.

emoticon emoticon Today I made my original goal! Although I have recently decided to go at least 5 pounds lower, it feels really good to have reached the goal that I set for myself all those months ago! I am not sure if I am officially in Maintenance now, or not. emoticon I am going to keep eating as I am now for a few more days, then slowly start transitioning over to maintenance. I am not sure I am going to stop with 5 more pounds or not, but I would like to get those 5 pounds off by the end of the year, so I am going to take it slow. I hope you all have a wonderful day!
