You're welcome. I had to think about those things too, when I set this up - at first the other way seemed more intuitive. Then I looked more deeply into reporting deviations and realized I had to do it the other way - and it's actually harder because I have to use a much more complicated formula in the spreadsheet. :-)

Thanks for your feedback! Here are the answers to why / how we do things the way we do in these challenges:

- 1. Could we have a trophy for finishing the challenge?

Everyone who has logged faithfully every week of these challenges gets a team goodie. Team leaders don’t have the ability to award official SparkPeople.com trophies, unfortunately. That's an official Spark People site thing. Team leaders are just members like everyone else; we don't have any connections to SparkPeople.com management...

- 2. It looks as if your deviations get added up whether they are over or under your target weight. If thatnis so, could they perhaps be averaged out instead?

The reason we do it this way is that the challenge is about seeing how consistent we can be. If one person fluctuates 1% up or down, compared to someone who is fluctuating 2% up or down around the target weight, your method would give the same result for both of them and would not reflect the greater consistency of the first person.

- I think the maintenance thread till the earth day challenge begins is an excellent idea.

Up just slightly, .4 pounds from last week to end the challenge at 133.0. Still out of range, but I still feel good, I made it through the holidays, enjoyed myself, and am almost halfway through an new strength training program! My goal for now is to get stronger, then I'll decide if I want to get back to my weight goal from last year or not.

Well I am up to 155, got out and exercised yesterday and was careful watching the food. Tonight will be a dinner and I am sure I will be up a little more tomorrow. But all in all this was a good Challenge it helped me to get back on track fast, reminded me to make as many good choices as I could and to get in some exercise.

Last post on this challenge! I'm happy that I stayed within the range, though I am pushing the limits on the upper end... Staying very active over the holidays helped me burn some of those extra calories.
