Definitely something going around in my part of the woods - I have been sick about three weeks and finally am to the point where sitting around is about it. Lots of people have it - DD who is a nurse says er is full and has been through the holidays. I think it is one of those things you have to wait out. Sorry you have this - hope you feel better soon.

I think rest is the answer. A few years ago I saw my doctor about a virus that had been hanging on forever. He said, "How many days have you been off work?" None. "Go home, and stay there for the rest of the week!" I think most of us try to power through being sick, thinking that we're so indispensible that the world can't go on without us, and in trying to take care of the whole world, we fail to take care of ourselves.

I'm wondering if Popsy isn't onto something here. Rest really is important, even when we are well. If you have been battling feeling sick, maybe just taking a day of total rest could help. It can be really difficult for some of us to accept that and actually allow ourselves to rest, because we feel we are losing time for other things, but if we aren't well, we aren't really completely in the game even though we are going through the motions. We end up losing several partial days instead of just giving ourselves a break and taking a rest.
It might not hurt to try :)

Perhaps you need a few days of total rest, without physical demands on your body? If you're tired it can be hard to throw off infection. Take care, I hope you recover soon.

Sorry to hear that you're under the weather. Some years ago, I would get sick about 2 weeks out of every six. My Dr. finally realized that I had allergies (perennial rhinitis, unfortunately). Since I've been taking medication to control it, I rarely get sick anymore. Just a thought - hope you're feeling better soon.

I have been battling a cold for a month now. It goes away for like a day then comes back. I have not been full force at all this month. I have still been teaching zumba classes but other than that i felt pretty lazy to do anything else. I have been having alot of pain in my knee's too. I am worried about this because i don't want to start to come with excuses not to work out. I hired a personal trainer so i am hoping she will help me stay on track when she gets back but it is hard sometimes to want to workout when battling the yuckys
