Yes. However, I did not get rid of them this time. This time I packed them up and took them to the cottage in boxes.

As soon as I shrunk out of my fat clothes I gave them away. I don't intend on EVER wearing them again so why keep them. It also helps me to know that if my clothes don't fit I better put in some work because I refuse to fork over any cash for bigger clothes.

Just read your message....I, too, have slowly been going through my closet of clothes that absolutely do not fit! During the summer I would take my L/XL tops and sew a new seam in them to make them a little more to my size. That worked while when I was wearing a medium. I always thought I'd wear a medium for the rest of my life. Much to my surprise...I'm a small. (I am still amazed by that.)

I took some of my clothes to a consignment store in order to earn money to purchase better fitting ones. Buying from consignment stores helped keep cost down while I was losing weight. They are a great resource. My daughter even suggested I sell some of my clothes on eBay. I haven't yet, but may try it. (You might consider this or a consignment for your Lucky jeans. I regularly see that brand at the consignment stores where I shop.)

I soon discovered I needed to replace more than just tops and pants. Once I settled in at a size (or so I thought) I began purchasing new undergarments and slowly replaced jeans and tops when I found a good sale.

I live in a state where we enjoy all four seasons....in the fall I began to realize I don't have one coat that will fit. YIKES! It is snowing as I write this and I need to go out...I'll just have to add layers and wear a coat that is still too big. Maybe I'll find a decent winter coat on sale at a discount department store.

I'll be taking my summer clothes to a consignment store when that season rolls around...since I have settled into a smaller size and attempt to earn a little cash for replacements.

My big push for clearing my closet came last week. Occasionally, Purple Heart will call to tell me they'll be in my area, and if I had anything I wanted to donate to set it out on my porch, marked for them. My husband and I went through our closets, removed all coats, shirts, pants, etc. that we wouldn't be able to wear and left them for Purple Heart to haul away. That was so rewarding....
emoticon
I have considered (& probably should do it) posting a sign in my closet that would state:
We Do NOT Have $$ in Our Budget For Larger Sized Clothes!

I wish you success in your weight-loss journey! emoticon

I'm hoping to get ready to throw out size 6's in about 2 weeks. Really looking forward to that. emoticon

I'm slowly getting rid of mine. I recently moved states, so that gave me a good opportunity to get rid of a lot, I gave most of it to a friend of mine who is a stay at home mom of 3 kids, 2 of which have a lot of health issues, and she doesn't have a lot of money to buy herself clothes. She was very excited to have mine :) The not so nice stuff was donated to Goodwill. I kept 2 pairs of size 14 Lucky Brand jeans, because they were expensive, and I sometimes wear them around the house, they're so darn comfy! I put my size 12's up on a shelf in my closet, I haven't decided what to do with them yet now that I'm in a 10...I only wore the 12s for 3 or 4 months, and I had them leftover from years ago the last time I was a 12. I'm also slowly still working through a lot of my tops. I don't have a ton of money to buy new stuff, so I'm still wearing some of the bigger ones since they sort of still fit, although I feel sort of frumpy wearing them now. I am slowly buying the correct sizes. I'd love to have enough money to meet with a personal shopper at Nordstrom to get all new stuff!

Working on maintaining at 140!

I still have some. I don't know why, I certainly never plan on wearing them again!

I saved some of the fat clothes and used them when working on mosaic murals with my students. Overalls that used to fit could now be worn OVER another set of clothing!

Only problem was, many of the tops were so big the necklines were very low, so I kept adding safety pins, LOL! Well, and the pants waists were big, so more pins there too.

Once everything was covered with cement and grout, I threw them away!

I'm continually cleaning out stuff and taking them to the thrift store. I have even had to get rid of some size 6 jeans. First time that ever happened. At this point I buy and sell at second-hand stores because my body composition still changes even with my weight being fairly steady.

Cleaned out mine, but am sorry I didn't keep one pair of pants to remind myself how far I have come.

Like SuzyMobile, I have some size 6's in my closet that taunt me. They were when I hit my very lowest. I've gone up some since then and am in an 8. Not letting them go, though. When I do get my weight back down I'll be glad to have them.

I went too low, bought a bunch of "teeny-bopper" clothes in, like, size 4 and size 6, and at this point, when I'm a more sustainable weight, they just hang in the closet and torment me. I've been gradually cleaning out my skinny clothes instead, and refusing to buy myself anything new until I settle into my true maintenance weight.

Funny you should ask -- I just did a final clean-out, putting into my give away bag some of my favorites that were just too big, but I thought I could still wear, but didn't. After four years of maintenance I guess it's about time. Otherwise I did clean out the other fat clothes shortly after I got to my goal weight.

Got rid of a lot of them. Will be getting rid of more of them as I transition into fall and decide which ones will still work and which ones I swim in.

Working on it even though it makes me nervous. Yesterday put jeans and shorts in hot hot wash and hot hot dryer to shrink them but didn't shrink enough - wish I had been doing that along the way.

In my past I was a yo-yo dieter. No more, I refuse. Yesterday I cleaned out all of my fat clothes (which in the past I kept just in case). They will be donated to the thrift shop benefiting the local hospital. I have maintained for about 6 months. emoticon emoticon yo-yo dieting!
