" My goal is to live the truly religious life, and express it in my music. If you live it, when you play, there's no problem because the music is part of the whole thing. To be a musician is really something. It goes very, very deep. My music is the spiritual expression of what I am--my faith, my knowledge, my being." by John Coltrane

I joined SparkPeople Dec, 2008 and reached my goal, losing a total of 72 pounds on Dec 10, 2009

I recently went vacationing to Costa Rica with my DH and 22 other family members to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. My peer group participated in the River cruise and other non exerting excursions. Although I did participate in those excursions I also signed up for 14 Zipline trips from tree to tree, mountain waterslide, horseback riding up and down the mountain to a health spa (about 1 hour)where we covered ourselves in mud and then relaxed in a hot mineral bath. The point is I was the matriarch of the group. I am 71 the others were 45, 23 10 and 8. I kept up with the young ones and on the way home they slept in the van. I was still wide awake.

I believe I owe my energy to my weight loss and exercise program since I joined SP. My pre-diabetes is no longer an issue because I keep it under control, without medication, with diet and exercise.

I just wanted to say thank you SP for all your unending support and encouragement during my lifestyle change. I now want to give back to all newbies who seek the same results I have been able to experience.
