I do have the issue of staying in the target calorie range. But I am healthy, have enough energy, and am not hungry. I am maintaining my weight within 5 pounds on any given day, so I do not worry about it.

I found that with my level of exercising, I am able to eat 1900-2000 calories daily and still lose very slowly.

I think we will always need to be watchful of what we are eating.

Will we ever stop worrying about every calorie that goes in? Should we ever stop? I guess our super-diligence forces good eating decisions.

I was glad to hear you went for nuts, cheese. Great choices! My doctor advised me to "listen to your body". If it's hungry, feed it with good protein. If exercising, fuel it. I live by his words every day. I've finally learned to focus on nutritous foods vs. empty calories so that my body continues to give me energy, strength and stamina.

Now my tummy is telling me it's mid-day snack time :)

Awesome Mrs. Doyle! I too had to recently get used to allowing certain things that I would stay away from when I first started counting calories. (Peanut butter, bananas, cheeses etc.) Sometimes I worry that it's going to cause me to gain, but I've been maintaining since March and have even been able to meet my 1 pound a month weight loss goal for the summer. I wonder if the fear of gaining ever goes away completely...

Me again, back to say that I am now managing to eat near to 2000 calories each day. I added in nuts and cheese and that seems to have done the trick.

I am at goal and maintaining. Thanks to my friends on SparkPeople and in the real world who motivate me every day.

My healthy BMI weight range is a generous 65kg to 55kg. My Spark goal is 60kg.

sometimes you have to go back and add in food that you eliminated or changed when you were trying to lose. For example, if you are only using skim milk, switch to 1 or 2%. It won't make you feel more full for the same amount, but the calories will be a little higher, and may help you get to the range you want to be in.

Just try adding back one or two hundred calories at a time. That way your body will have time to adjust. Good luck! emoticon

If I eat over 1200-1300 I gain so that is where I stay.

No, I don't have a problem with this, because I know that if I don't eat sensibly NOW, it will backfire on me LATER.

So even if I'm not feeling the sensation of hunger, I still eat.

I spent 6 months eating 1200-1500 calories and reached my goal weight. Now I am allowed to eat 1600-2000 calories daily. I know I have to eat that many but my body tells me it is full before I manage it some days.

Today for instance I had to eat a banana and a sandwich even though I wasn't hungry. Otherwise my calories would have been too low.

Eating when I am not hungry goes against everything I learned when I joined SparkPeople. Anyone else having problems with this?
