Hello everyone?!? Is anyone still around? I've made it through my 3 weeks program and both DH and I survived. This week has been hard with extra things going on but I am trying to make it through and hit the exercising hard next week. I'm hit a lull in my weight loss and I think it's a lack of exercising these last several days. Hopefully I can stay on track.

How is everyone else getting along? I'd love to hear from you.

Good morning. Week 2 is done and I'm down 5 pounds. I feel pretty good. It's amazing how much a clean diet can effect your mood. I got in a fair amount of exercise last week and plan on continuing this week. How have you been?

Hello again! Finally back up and running (I hope). It has been a pain with the computer on the brink but hopefully all the bugs are ironed out.

Things have been going well. Although I haven't been able to get myself out of bed in the mornings to exercise, I've still been getting it in after work. The diet is going well and I've had some decent recipes I'll have to share. Hubby is hanging in like such a trooper and realizes that this clean eating and exercise really does work!

I became an aunt on Monday. My brother and his wife had a little baby girl and Reagan Reigh is expected to come home today.

How are things on your end?

Good morning!

Today's breakfast was supposed to be eggs, feta cheese, spinach and oregano. I didn't realize that my spinach had gone bad so I had to substitute and did egg whites, feta and green peppers with a little garlic pepper and salt. It was surprisingly not too bad considering I don't like eggs.

I rode the bike and got an abs workout in last night and was up this morning and got 30 minutes in on the elliptical. It will be another good day of clean eating except for the LF ice cream sandwich for dessert tonight. Hey that's what the diet calls for and I'm not going to question it! :)

Busy is an understatement. But we do what we got to do!

How is the ating going? Feel free to share any recipes you really enjoy. There is only so much chicken and egg whites I can eat :)

Had a great shoulder and cardio workout this morning and sticking to clean eating ALL day with the exception of a piece of cake - not a whole piece, maybe a bite or two. DH birthday is today so I am baking a small cake for us to enjoy. I may go the muffing route - this way over indulging is not an option :)

Sounds like you are busy.

Clean eating can be hard but I think of how much better I feel when I don't fill my body with junk. That in itself is worth every hard minute and temptation you have to face.

Salad -- not always so appealing but I am happy that the TWO of you are making it work for you.

I am doing well. A lot going on between putting our home on the market (just got it listed today)along finishing up my course requirements to become a Nutritionist Consulate and well life in general I guess. I am sticking with my workout and struggling every now and than with food. I seem to be hungry all the time -- so I got to up the calories. Clean eating is tough!!

Good morning Nancy.

I have to tell you that the salad I made for yesterday's lunch was absolutely delicious and I was even more excited to find out that DH had the same thoughts. It's great to be able to incorporate healthy foods for both of us and be able to enjoy it.

I did not get up early this morning to get a workout in and I feel sluggish. It's amazing how much better I do feel when I get up. It's on tomorrow's agenda.

How are you?

Amilne - your going to do great in that department. Sometimes after eating junk and processed food are taste buds take a while to adjust to more different tastes - so feel free to spicy it up with herbs and spices.

I think I'll be saying that a lot these next 3 weeks as I'm trying to eat foods that I thought were a little less than desirable. I'm trying it to see if foods that I've always thought I didn't like if I've acquired a taste for them now that I've changed eating habits. we'll see!

Ameline - HAPPY NEW YEAR =)Sound like the next 3 weeks are going to be a hit for you and DH. Nice that you get to have someone close walk through the whole experience with. You'll both help each other be accountable!! WOOHOOO!!

I've been doing really well myself since the beginning of the new year. Lots going on here on my end - but hanging on tight and making the best of all the stressful situations. What do they say " What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger"?

Welcome back!!

Good morning! Today is my new start for the 2009 year. Last week was so hectic and I wasn't at home at all so I decided to start my new year this week.

I've got my husband convinced to join me and we started a 3 week Abs Diet (high protein) that I found on Women's Health. I figured if I can stick to the plan for 3 weeks, then I will give myself the luxury of choosing my own healthy meals after that.

I got up this morning and got 30 minutes in on the bike before I finished up packing the days meals for me and hubby.

It felt good to get the exercise under my belt first thing this morning and to know that my husband is going to give this healthy living a go! Wish us luck!

How is everyone else fairing? It's been a while since I've posted and haven't heard much from the rest of you. I hope you are starting your new year out on the right foot.

Nancy - we missed you! Hope you are having a great holiday season!

I'm sure next week we'll get back on track, once everything settles back to "normal". I haven't even had anyone show up for my classes the last two weeks, so it isn't just on here...everybody is just really busy!

Sam - my hubby's the same healthy meal = more sweets afterwards. I'll let you know if I get his habits turned around.

Nancy - good to see you pop in to say hello. This thread has been pretty quiet lately but we are still trying to check in and give each other support.

Happy New Year to you and hope to see you back with us after the first of the year.

I do wish you luck with the hubby - and if it works, I want tips! Mine will exercise some, but seems to eat extra bad to balance my healthy food - I give good, clean meals, then he binges on junk.

Oh I survived the holidays - fat and happy too!!! :)

Ready to get back to a clean diet and regular exercise.

I made more "family" type resolutions to get my husband more involved in my healthy lifestyle so we will be working together to get into shape and eating healthy. Wish us luck! :)

Other than that just would like to get into the habit of being on time. Something that I've let slip really bad lately.

Have a happy new year and we'll get back into the groove next week!

I had a wonderful Christmas...thanks! I won't be back to a normal schedule until next week though - we still have company through Friday. I've survived, fat and happy. :)

I made all my resolutions before Christmas, all internal stuff as presents to Jesus...so nothing new for New Year's. How 'bout you?

Good morning. I'm finally back to somewhat of a normal schedule. With the holidays this week, I'm sure things will be crazy but I'm trying to keep things as close to a schedule as possible and really get back on track next week. How was your Christmas? Sorry I haven't been around AT ALL. I was gone over the weekend and then my great, great aunt passed away so it's been a crazy week already. Working 'til noon then I'm off the rest of the week. Headed to my dad's the day after Christmas.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and I'll be back to check in with you after the weekend.

I really should do more homemade gifts. It sounds like lots of fun. I did a few homemade things a few years ago, soup mixes, etc. It was fun to put them together. Maybe next year I can do a few or one small thing to each person or something like that.

I had to cut back on my shopping dramatically this year for financial reasons; as a result I am doing a lot of homemade stuff. Without having to worry about the shopping, I have just about finished up not including the perishable items. It really is a great feeling!

Sounds like you did well over the weekend. I did not! With holiday parties and everything going on I had poor food choices and no time for exercise.

To top it all off, yesterday I made cookies and THAT was our lunch. YUCK!! I can tell you I felt horrible by yesterday evening from all the sweets.

Like you said, it's the holidays and I'm not getting too down on myself. I'm planning to keep the exercise going strong this week and we'll worry about getting back on a good schedule after the holidays.

Are you all ready for Christmas? I have a few more gifts to pick up but I was goo this year and started my shopping back in October. It helped to spread it out.

Good morning! I had a wonderful weekend, but it involved absolutely no exercise and a little bit of bad eating. Oh well, I give up on worrying about it - it's the holidays, for crying out loud!

I did have a really fun time Saturday morning, though...it was my first time volunteering at our local animal shelter. Who would ever think that washing dirty food bowls, linens, and litter boxes could be called a good time? It was though!

Yeah, I find it hard this time of year to stick to a very "obedient" diet and fitness regimen so I do the best I can and don't get down on myself. I figure that once the new year comes, I'll get back into a very good routine.

I will check back as often as I can if you want to continue posting. If not, I can shoot you an email. It seems the others are really busy and I'm sure they'll check back in when they can.

It sounds as if you are doing great. I'm not being as good this month as I have been the rest of the year, but I'm trying not to obsess. I find that I am not exercising as often either, so I'm just trying to make sure I meet the weekly goal.

Sam, I hate to see you leave the board but I totally understand. Things do seem to get getting busy. I wish we could get back to keeping each other in line. Maybe after the first of the year.

I am still trying to stay afloat with all the holiday hubbub and have my ups and downs. I think it balances out and I will get on a better more routine schedule once the holidays are over.

I still try to exercise as much as I can and although it's not every day, I feel I'm getting enough in each week. I go back and forth on the healthy eating. Some days are good and some are bad. I just keep trying and hopefully will find my healthy groove one of these days. Every so often I cave to the occasion holiday sweet but figure I'm keeping fairly well in line and keep up with the exercise.

Hope everyone is doing well and Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year if we dont chat again until next year.

I didn't get online from Friday until today...the holidays are just hectic, in general!

I'm back today; I wasn't so good this weekend, but I'm back on the wagon today. I won't have my class this week because of my son's soccer and church, so I am just "speed" walking at lunch, and trying to watch what I'm eating. I'm trying to stay on the exercise, because I'm signed up for my first 5k on the 20th!

Hope you had a nice weekend!

What a hectic week. Sorry I have been MIA all week. With computer problems and the holidays, I think the week just flew by.

I had a good week. I adjusted my calorie range and was trying to eat at the top of that range. Felt good all week, not hungry, didn't snack in the evenings and although I didn't get in as much exercise as I wanted, I still saw the scale come down some. I think maybe I've got things somewhat more stable so I can eat healthy and not blow it because of too low of caloric intake. Cross your fingers that I can survive the weekend.

Hope you all are doing well and check in with you soon.

Wednesday was interesting. First of all, this is my week for my monthly weigh-in. I decided to go ahead and get it over with, because my week is going to be busy. After being so bad all Thanksgiving, I somehow managed to still lose two pounds last month, along with a little over 1% body fat. I guess the changes I've made in class, along with dropping back to pretty much homemade EVERYTHING food wise, has helped? Weird. I am now at an all time low weight, which I guess is good coming into the holiday season.

Anyway, the rest of the day went well other than short sleep due to helping kids with homework. Did a lunch walk and a walk after work, ate okay. I'll check in later to see how everyone else did!

My monday went well. I had a nice walk at lunch, then another (albeit cold and dark!) after work. Kept my eating within reasonable limits, but man, I was freakin' starving all day! I guess that is a result of the over indulgence from the holiday, don't you think?

I slept much better so I'm thinking the Sunday insomnia was just from too much coffee. Feeling fine today, I have my class tonight and then I have to go to Wal-Mart, since it is a night without my guys who will be at an "away" soccer game.

We are reducing all of our Christmas expenses this year, and surprisingly that seems to be actually helping my stress level. Since I've already reduced groceries to the bare bones, I hardly ever have to go shopping anymore. Although financial strains are up, the extra time has proven very relaxing! Isn't it funny how the things we think of as "blows" can turn out to be blessings? Just my thought for the day!

Good afternoon.

It's good to hear you had a good break, Sam. We all deserve that from time to time. Our server was down this morning and just getting around to updating my info. I'll post more when I get it all input and have more time.

Happy Monday to you!!!

Amanda

Good pledges/goals!

Thanksgiving was great...ate lots, rested lots - probably a little too much of both!

My health/fitness goals for December? Pretty much the same, but I'm trying to be more flexible on my exercise, and I am having to be more flexible with the class because of holiday schedules.

Also, to be a little more forgiving in my dietary strictness through the holiday season so I don't make people around me uncomfortable!

Personal goals? I'm working on the "inside" me and trying to continue working my way off of the concentration on external appearances. Patience, kindness, and charity, and above all watching what I say and how I say it. A little more "face" time with God.

It's good to be back, but I had a nice break.

Good Sunday evening ladies. Just thought I'd pop in and say hello. Thanksgiving was good and I ate plenty. I have pledged to myself to accomplish several things in December.

1. Get 1200 minutes of cardio in for the month.
2. Eat healthy and stay within my calorie range (1700 a little higher than what Spark figures)
3. Realize that the holidays means lots of temptations and to be strong but yet realize that there's always room for a treat or two

Hopefully by the end of December I will be a few pounds lighter, leaner and feel much better about myself going into the New Year.

Anyone else have any fitness/diet plans/goals for the next month?

Good morning ladies.

I had a decent day yesterday. Just couldn't control the mindless eating. I'm partially blaming it on that time of the month and hope that the cravings and feeling like I need to eat everything in sight will pass.

Sam, to answer your question, I just try to eat healthy, unprocessed foods as much as possible. I have been trying to cut diet soda completely out of my diet but still have one occasionally. I have cut salt completely out. I stay away from fried foods and try to eat lots of fruits and veggetables. I usually eat a high fiber breakfast, a piece of fruit in between breakfast and lunch, I usually eat leftovers or soup for lunch (try to keep it sensible and get a veggie or two in), a piece of fruit between meals and a good supper with at least 2 veggies. Right now where I'm slipping is doing fine during the weekday but fall apart in the evenings with mindless eating. My weekends have been horrible and I think it's because I'm always on the go and I get away from my schedule. Does that answer your question or give you some insight.

Thanks for the substitutions!

Sam your substitions are great and a great step forward for you and your family. Eliminating butter big choice! I was at my wits end of what do you especially with eggs so I substitute all butters and margarine for cocunut oil and it works like a charm!!

yesterday went pretty well for me; ate okay, walked at lunch, slept good...nothing special.

Amilne; what are you trying for in regard to "healthy"? I cut our fat down long ago, and of course I do sugar free because of the family diabetes problems. I know, though, that Nancy doesn't do Splenda and has a much stricter definition of "clean" eating than I do, so what I view as healthy may differ significantly - I guess I'm not as strict as I thought I was! :)

Anyway, narrow it down for me and I'll search my little brain for suggestions. At this point, I have cut my mashed potatoes in half with mashed cauliflower and use chicken boullion and ranch dressing spices for flavor rather than butter; I "healthified" my green bean casserole by cutting out the canned condensed milk, replacing it with plain yogurt, 2 tbsp of onion soup mix, and two small cans of sliced mushrooms, and substituted butternut squash for my sweet potato dish, as well as ditching the sugar from that dish and the cranberry sauce (it is really easy to make the homemade cranberries with Splenda instead, and I LOVE to add apples these days).

I know the scale can vary and I'm not actually gaining that much weight in a couple of days. I hate seeing the weight keep going up instead of down. I'm using that as my motivation to keep on the right track.

Nancy, sounds like you had a good weekend, over all. I think I need to slow down too when I'm eating certain foods. I guess that's something we can both work on.

Anyone have any healthy Thanksgiving recipes or ideas they are using this week and want to share?

Hey ladies - Looks like it we all have our setbacks during the weekend. But rest a sure we will get a handle on this clean eating thing :)

I had a good weekend eating. Stuck to the plan well. Had my green chicken curry cheat meal but I am realized I am inhaling it. Barely really savouring it because it is so spicy!! I think I should be able to enjoying my cheat meal not wolf it down so, I am going to have to figure out something else on the Thai menu that I can enjoy and chew :) I did not eat all of it because I was so stuffed. It's like my body was hating me for it. My stomach was still semi-recovering from my M&M eating frenzy on Friday night at the movies. So I will not be doing that again.

I figured I have 38 days till 2009 to get it right!

Mine was okay..clean eating, not so good - 2 glasses of wine and a 100 calorie pack of cheezits, plus homemade brownies. At least the brownies were sugar free with whole wheat flour, but still!

Yesterday was a recovery day, so no exercise. Saturday's run/walk made me feel it yesterday, so I still think I did okay.

Amilne - I'm sure a large part of the problem is water weight; I'm not a believer that anyone's body can actually gain 5 pounds of fat in two days. Don't rebound and restrict TOO hard today, 'cause you don't want to feel deprived on the holiday and go off the deep end!!! (IMHO, of course.)

Good luck today!

Okay so here's ANOTHER Monday morning confession. I had ANOTHER HORRIBLE weekend with terrible food choices. The scale is definitely showing it too. It seems like one weekend of bad food choices and the scale is showing an extra 5 pounds. I'm so frustrated this morning! I'm hoping part of the scale's outrageous number is due to getting close to that time of the month but it's still no excuse for what all I ate this weekeknd.

My solution...up at 5:30 this morning for 30 minutes on the bike and the measuring cup was out at breakfast so I know exactly how much food I was eating. I am determined to get into a healthy lifestyle and stay there for more than a couple of days.

Now that I'm done venting, LOL, how was everyone else's weekend?

Great job yesterday, Nancy! Is it going better, Amilne? Did you catch up on your sleep?

So, I skipped exercise Thursday and Friday, but my husband and I did 3 miles today to start getting ready for a 5K walk/run in December, and I was excited at how well we did together. Walking and running alternately we were somewhere between 12 and 13 minute/mile, for a total of 3 miles. That is much better than we used to be able to do. Even my dog did better! :)

I also got lots of cleaning done today, and got my cooking mostly done for the week. Nancy, I try to cook for the week on the weekend - I agree with you that it makes it easier to eat healthy and inexpensively. I made my yogurt and bread for the week, as well as a big pot of jambalaya and cranberry whole-wheat muffins for breakfast.

Oh - and the Habitat work day was cancelled. I'll have to do that another weekend.

Thanks ladies for your input:) Yes I find weighing daily helps me stay on track. I feel more in control which is silly. I do not allow the scale reading to effect my day just the food choices I make which seems fine during the week, it's the weekend that kills me.

Amiline - stay strong and way to recommit to clean eating. It happens to the best of us, so all we can do is plan ahead and stick to the plan.

I just spent a good part of the morning making chili, pasta, chicken breasts, brown rice, wild rice, potatoes and yams for the weekend. This way, there is no excuse why we have to eat out. Sometimes it is just easier but with food already made all I have to do is reheat what we will be eating.

I feel organized today and I feel like i have equipped myself for a successful weekend.

I also got up at 4:40am today before the alarm clock and did Making The Cut Day 11 :) I missed it yesterday - giving my body that day to recover and I am glad I did because I had a powerful workout.

Good morning ladies (almost afternoon)! I have been struggling and I think the getting up at 4:15 for two days really screwed up my habits but I'm trying to get them turned back around as slow as a process as it seems like it is.

That said, I haven't gotten any exercise in yesterday or today yet. Food choices were poor last night but trying to get back to healthy today. I'm going to work exceptionally hard this weekend to have a clean, healthy weekend.

I weigh myself everyday but only note it once a week. To me I like to monitor how my weight fluctuates throughout the month and how making good and poor food choices affects it. Just my personal opinion.

Amanda - I look forward to your posts daily, both you and Nancy! I'll do my best to keep up, but I'm really not online on the weekends. My computer at home blew up last night, so I definitely won't be online this weekend.

I ate well and drank well yesterday, and got a good night's sleep last night. I plan to "power walk" during my lunch today, because I'm helping to host a jewelry benefit sale tonight for my son's band. Tomorrow morning we are working on a Habitat for Humanity house, and then my normal cleaning, so that ought to count for something! :)

I should be good on eating today, but avoiding alcohol tonight will be my challenge.

Nancy, in answer to your question, scale obsession is a problem of mine, one reason I have dropped back to only once a month. I was, at times, weighing in 3 times per day. I have done well two months in a row, but the stress I've been under this week has left me aching to weigh in...isn't that weird?

Nancy, in answer to your question, my weight has been pretty steady regardless. I just battle my guilt, energy level, and overall muscle tone if I don't exercise regularly. Really, though, I get cardio at least five days a week, which is pretty regular by most casual standards. And I am not an athlete by any means! Yesterday was just particularly difficult because it was an early day for a stressful board meeting, late due to soccer, and no exercise...

Hey ladies :) I am going to really focus on clean eating as the peanut butter jar is slowly dwindling away. Time to put it away on a high shelf so it is not easy to take a spoonful. Other than that eating was great but I added all this extra fat to my diet.

So planning out the meals. Making extra of everything tomorrow and to get ready for the weekend. If I have food made at home than it seems silly to eat out or grab a quick something.

Well today I took an off day even thought it was not part of my original schedule. I listened to my body. I have had 4 hard workouts in a row and my body and mind did not have it in me. I'm glad I passed on working out :) Been a while since I missed a workout and was ok with it. Progress? I think so.....

OK ladies - lets plan strong for the weekend. I know the weekend is my trouble spot every time. I want to go 2 weekends staying strong and staying on track. More importantly I do not want to gain on the scale. I have been fluctuating less than 1 lb every day and that is good. Now more importantly I am going to put my scale away -- once i get through the weekend. No really I am :)

Anyone obsessed with jumping on the scale daily?

Nancy, I agree. We need to get everyone back to posting at least once a day. I feel lost without getting to update everyone on my progress and see how everyone else is doing.

I forgot about a hair appointment this evening so I'm hoping I can get a little bit of exercise in when I get home. Didn't get any in over the lunch hour. It seems to go too fast for me. Will try to get up early tomorrow to get in some biking before work.

Have a great evening ladies!

Great attitude, Amanda! It is hard to stay on track at conferences when there are limited choices available. I always run into trouble when my schedule is disrupted.

I had an okay day yesterday; I had a good long walk during my lunch, although somewhat slowly. Today is my son's first home soccer game, so no class tonight - and I don't get to walk at lunch either! I guess I'll try to catch up tomorrow and over the weekend.

Amilne - Nice to have you back in full force.

I hit hard with some jelly beans yesterday and had a restless sleep last night. That being said my 5am start was unattainable. So I throw the rest of them out this morning and am back to staying on track. Day 11 today on MTC and I will get the workout in today.

I am holding steady with my weight which is pretty important to me as I can fluctuated between those 3-4 awful pound s.But Not I have been only fluctuating less than 1 lb :) And My period is just around the corner so I am so proud.

Good morning ladies! I'm back from being away and ready to hit it hard and get back on track. I made horrible food choices and had not time or energy after the long days to get any exercise in. I'm ready to do a little over lunch and hit it hard tonight. Nothing but healthy food now too.

Hey Sam :)

Making the Cut is a Circuit Training program designed by Jillian Michaels. Best known as the Personal Trainer on the Biggest Loser for the Black Team.

It's fantastic and keep my heart up for a full 45 minutes. I generally add another 20 minutes of cardio and HIIT after the circuits. Great program I recommend it highly.

You can take a look at my fitness log to see the kind of exercises that are performed.

I managed another short (2 mile) walk with the hubby after work last night, so cardio was good. Kept to the healthy eating plan; but my son didn't get in from soccer until very late, so fell short on my sleep. Oh well - I'll try harder tonight!

It's a class for work. Tax information and updates on tax law to get geared up for the 2008 tax season. TRUST ME, it's about the most boring thing that you can sit around and listen to for 2 days. My butt is usually tired of sitting in those hard chairs after about the first hour or so.

Amanda, what class are you taking?

I ate okay over the weekend and worked hard on house stuff Saturday. I also played a little tennis with my hubby, but didn't really do too well; I figured out why yesterday when I woke up with some sort of weird ailment. Every joint in my body hurt, and I had a fever...that's all. No sore throat, no stomach problems; weird, huh?

Anyway, I'm much better today, sice I lay around all day yesterday and then soaked in a rosemary, lavender, and epsom salt bath before bed - I DID get plenty of sleep! Today...walking, maybe some weights.

Good Monday morning everyone!

I didn't make the best eating choices over the weekend but kind of let myself have a couple of "cheat" meals for all my hard work and effort. Today is back to the grindstone.

I got up at 5:30 this morning and got my 30 minutes in on the bike. I plan on getting in a good workout tonight as well.

I have class for the next two days and will be leaving the house at 5:00 a.m. and getting home around 7:00 p.m. Probably no exercising for the next couple of days but I hope to keep up the healthy eating choices while I'm out.

How is everyone else doing?

Amanda - good job squeezing that walk in yesterday - every little bit helps! Also, I'm impressed by your ability to work out before work. Mornings just don't work for me...getting all of us ready and making it on time is about as much as I can handle, and my poor husband has to pick up a lot of that!

My week is going well, so far. Yesterday I had a really good, brisk walk (40~ minutes) at lunch, but we never got to our after work walk. We did play RockBand for hours after dinner, though, on a "hard" setting - believe it or not, that can get pretty active! I ate well all day, although probably more in quantity than I should have...I was really hungry all day.

Tonight is my class, so I'll get a good workout. I've going to do some more resistance band stuff. Also, just a footnot...after I raised my step height successfully, a couple of the ladies in my class tried it too! I love the trickle-down effect!

Good morning!

I don't think I ever really posted my personal goals.

1. I am trying to lose the 8 pounds that I've put on so I do weigh myself with weekly weighins.
2. I am trying to get back into a clean diet and quit eating so much junk and processed foods. I also keep my food journal accurate so I can keep up with what I eat and stay within my calorie range.
3. I am trying to get back into a good workout routine with cardio at least 5 times a week.
4. I am trying to tone up so I am doing strength training at least 3 times a week.

I didn't get much in for exercise yesterday as I had a board meeting last night. Did get a 15 minute walk in over my lunch hour. Ate good all day but had to have something sweet last night so had 2 pieces of chocolate after dinner.

Got up this morning at 5:30 and got a good 30 minute workout in on the bike. I'm hoping to get another 30 minutes on the elliptical when I get home tonight and found a good arms workout in my Self magazine that I want to try.

We are headed into town this evening to help a friend celebrate his birthday. I plan on eating before I go so I know I'll be getting a good healthy meal and will try to limit my alcohol intake so I don't disrupt the good streak I've got going.

How is everyone else getting along this week? It seems to be somewhat quiet here lately.

LHEMPEN - we each set our own goals when we joined. Mine were as follows (way back when...):
1. only allow myself to weigh and measure once per month
2. to focus on eating clean, but not logging calories so as not to under-eat
3. to continue teaching the step class I began teaching 5 weeks ago without missing any sessions (Tues-Thurs)
4. to incorporate strength training M,W,F and to eat sufficient amounts to continue building muscle - basically, eat when I am hungry instead of feeling guilty because it seems like too much! (I actually altered this a little, since I now do some strength training in the Tue - Thurs class)
5. And finally, to get enough rest.
