Can not really explain it -- I lifting more weights and the only supplement I have added is glutamine powder, before and after my workout.

Well I came down with a cold, so I missed my workout with my trainer so no official stats for me this week.

About the creatine, I haven't tried that, is it something you are supposed to cycle? I have some glutamine powder for muscle recovery I use during my workout, it seems to help with my soreness factor, don't know that it really does anything else. I've been haveing more muscle cramping lately, so I don't think it helps w/ that.

I had a spike in my home scale mumber last week, whice I'm attributing to TOM. Don't know if that could be a factor for you as well, but I do know the sodium in eating out really does a number on my scale as well. It will probably even out in a few days, like you said.

It has been 2 weeks since I stopped using Creatine which probably the reason for the decrease in % of BF. That is the only thing I have really changed that ould explain the big difference in numbers. Has anyone else used Creatine in the past or are using creatine?

I need to educate myself more on cycling this product.

I've been there with the scale Debi, and I wish you luck! It's probably a good idea to take it away if it is causing you that much frustration. It really isn't worth it.

I had to stop weighing so often when I got that way, I was driving my bf crazy! I don't know why we sometimes get to caught up w/ those numbers, but you do have the right idea, take yourself out of it for a while and let it settle down.

You may be able to come back to if eventually with a better perspective. And if not, you can just find some other way to measure your progress or maintenance.

I need to drop out from this challenge -- I am having my hubby pack away my scale until Feb 20th. That is the last day of the Boot Camp Challenge I'm taking part in at my YMCA. That day they weigh us, take our body fat % and body measurements to see how we did throughout the challenge.
I've been so consumed with the numbers on the scale that I'm actually making myself upset, frustrated and depressed.
I still want to follow how you all are doing and I'll be here routing you all on. But I just cannot look at my numbers right now.

No problem with the analysis. It is the basis for the challenge. Without it we can't be sure we have met the challenge. I was hoping that like Google 15 it would take all the noise out of the data to help us better see how we are doing. But it sounds like you don't need that.

yesterday I weighed in at 132.4 and my body fat was 22.4%

today I weighted in at 131.6 and my body fat is 23.8%, but yesterday I took my body fat late afternoon, maybe I should check it again later.

obviously a hydration issue. But I really don't know which is the most accurate number.

John - thanks for all that you do, and really you don't have to worry about a tread analysis for me...as long as I can come here every once in a while and post...I can watch my own progress...I will be happy with that.

Thanks John... I did measurements and waist went down almost 1/2 inch and hips/butt just about 1/4 inch.

Tomorrow should be interesting. It will be a true reflection of whether or not maybe I got a wrong reading. But I did do it it several times and got the same #'s =)

I like the Google 15 weight tracker approach to taking out the day to day variability. They use a moving average. If I don't reach my goal (33" waist) during this challenge, I will probably use that approach for the next challenge.

Wow! NancyB you look fantastic! So that's what 15%bf will get you, awesome.

EJohn, if it's not too much trouble do the trend on both. I'm posting the home data because I have easier access, and I'll get more data points. If it's too much, I can just post the gym scale data. I only have access once a week, so I won't have as many data points.

You can subtract out the water weight if that will make a more accurate picture of the final number. I just posted the numbers that came out on the scale. It give me a printout with so much data it makes my head spin, but those numbers looked like ones the rest of the group was using in one form or another.

Thanks so much for doing all this, it must be a lot of work, and it really is neat to see how the numbers are evolving.

Now I gotta go get on Nancy's program!

KAYOTIC - As I said previously, I am happy to include data prior to the start of the challenge so that you can have the 7 points needed for trend analysis. Please advise if want me to do the analysis on the "lean body mass (lbm)" that you report? Or should I subtract the total body water from the lbm so to eliminate that variable? This will give some consistency with how I am analyzing the home scales data. Speaking of which, I am not sure whether you want me to analyze the home scales data or not. Please advise.

Well I would really like to see how well I run at 120. Right now I hang around the 132 mark...so I put in 120.

I'm at -.3, having gone back and entered enough data to get a spread. It's interesting that it shows my current weight as actually higher than my scale weight, I guess that's part of taking the running average into account. It will be interesting to see how it evolves.

I use the igoogle tracker and have been for a couple weeks...as far my moving average is .2 and I am being warmed that I am moving away from my goal weight. hehehe.

The sudden drop may be a TOM thing, as it just ended, so perhaps before that I was retaining water?

I put the tracker from another thread (I think the main discussion thread that Shrilz had put out there, it's an Igoogle tracker that supposed to take out the "background noise" from daily weight fluctuations so you can see what your trend weight is. It's really interesting to see.

So John if I provided you with measurements from my Omron including % of body fat, weight and muscle mass that will make it easier for you to do your analysis?
