Great ideas!! I find it hard to work out with my kids. But maybe it's just the words "work out". I think I need to think of it differently- thanks to reading all your posts! I get my workouts in early in the mornings before my husband goes to work and the kids get up. We home school, so once the kids get up, our day is in motion with breakfast and school stuff. They take breaks to run around, but maybe I can focus even the first 10 minutes with some of your ideas!!

my girls love to dance so we put on some music and dance and sing. we also like to go for walks. I also hold my 2 year old or my 2 month old while I"m riding my stationary bike, strength training and cuddling all in one.
We got a WII so now my 7 year old loves to play it with us and we have family time on the weekends now and we play it for hours. It is great fun. My 2 year old grabs the tv remote and pretends she is playing with us. it is a blast.

1 bite at a time = 1 choice at a time.
Choice is in our power; take the power and run.

We went to Burr Oaks (a conservation center) with friends where they have lots of walking trails. We chose one that had lots of rocks and places to climb. It was a great afternoon. We walked at least 3 miles!

GONNABEFIT27: anything silly or pretending... put on some classical music and pretend to be ballerinas; just put on some energetic music and dance; pretend to be an athlete training for the next Olympics... something I've wanted to do but hasn't ever worked out (this was when we had pedometers) was go for a walk and track how far each walk was then, after choosing some distant destination (grandparents' house or another city etc), document how much closer you are to that destination. (if it's really far - like Africa - maybe make each step count as a mile).

Just anything you and your child find enjoyable!

This is a great idea. I am going to try to start implementing this with my daughter. any suggestions on the best way to start?

my kids and I did 60 mins of wii yesterday and also 60 mins today. Both days we did jumping jacks and crunches

Ok we need to step it up People.... Lets start small..

1. workout with kids 10 minutes a day.. anything you want..

2. make sure you and your kids eat healthier.

3. encourage your kids..
