Good for you, TEXROSESV! I have been really paying attention to that number, and like you said, it's amazing how much sodium there is in all the prepared foods. I always check for sodium now on the labels, which is something I never gave one hoot about before. I feel like it's important to hit all those nutrient numbers as well as I can every day. When I do it just right and get everything in range, it makes me feel great, so, it's kind of turned into a game. I don't have any problems currently with sodium affecting me medically, but I think it's important enough to try to stay under that 2300 so that I don't have issues with it.

Actually, I added this challenge on myself this week. I've also been over my sodium range for a while, due to salad dressings, cheese and soy burgers. Even my weight control oatmeal has 310mg of sodium! It will be a challenge to get my sodium intake under control!

-Thank you so much!!! I'm a nut over things like this. This is why I kept using the mypyramid.gov site, to check on my sodium and fiber intake, and now, it's all here! Thanks so much again. Now I feel like I can really participate with this challenge.

Hey T! When you go to My Nutrition, there's a link right above your water glass that says, "Change my nutrition goals." Then, you'll click on "add another nutrient to track," and just select which ones you want. Hope that helps!

Hello everyone. I would like to join in on this challenge, if it's not too late. Funny, I was thinking the other day that it would be good to incorporate at least four low sodium days per week. I found an online cook book from the American Heart Association that has some great recipes. -I have used the Food guide pryarmid, but it's not as "user friendly as Sparks, and doesn't have the support from others. -How do I incorporate a sodium tracker into my nutrition plan? -Thanks all...and take care

Read a good article about sodium in our diets.

I have been doing pretty good -- until today! I made tacos and used a package seasoning -- they tasted good, but sent me WAY over my limit for sodium!

Trying to get back on track after the worst year that I can remember.

As soon as I joined this challenge, every day I went over or way over my sodium goal. Yesterday I finally got it (sort of) with 2301. I really would like to see if I can stay within range for a week. I don't even know where all the sodium is coming from! Well, one day was hot and sour soup, so I knew that one.

I posted and then last night I was at a little more than 3000! Holy smokes. It must have been those chips and salsa I had, even though I had less than a serving of chips. That's why it's necessary to track everything or else I wouldn't have known that.

I just saw this challenge today, but funnily enough, I started tracking my sodium a little less than a week before this challenge was posted. I started wondering how much sodium was affecting my diet. My first day tracking was 3400! Since then, I've had three days that were higher than the 2300 goal, but none as high as that first day. I'm hoping to keep it to goal, but it looks like it's happening about 5 days out of 7 so far.

I recently added that to my nutrition tracker. It is HARD! I'll try harder though.

Sounds like a good idea. I try not to use processed foods.

No sodium? emoticon Okay...I'm always up for a challenge. I don't know how well I'll do, but I promise to try!
