Dh grandmother has alhziemers, it is a sad, difficult disease.

We went for a motorcycle ride today, my exercise was to stay on the back. The warm sun made me so sleepy.

Thanks Jan!! Woohoo I went to the mall and walked with my best friend and her mother, who has alhziemers. When we were growing up her mother was always out in the yard working, walking the neighborhood or the mall, just really very active. While working today my friend had to remind her several times they had walked yesterday and would go again tomorrow. A couple of times she had to remind her how many times we had already been around the mall or how many times we had to go. It makes me sad to see her this way, as it isn't how she was. What makes me even sadder is the weight has been placed on my friend to take care of her mother, since my friend has a brother living in the same town. But I felt good to be a part of doing something with "mom" that I know she so much enjoys, and it was good for me too!! I FEEL BLESSED!

I have always been one that when I start something, which I want to do...I go at if full force. I also like the be the first one finished, sometimes-othertimes I am the queen of procrastination, lol. I guess I have something to prove to myself and my doctor...I CAN DO IT!! The real quest will be not to return to my old ways and to keep the weight off once I lose it. But I have started looking at things from a new perspective...this IS a lifestyle change.

OK I was feeling energized today, so after the 30 mins of walking, I went back this evening and did another 30 mins. The last half block of each time I walked, which was 4 fifteen minutes spurts, I jogged home with the dogs in tow. I also did an additional hour and fifteen minutes of exercises...Plus cooked a BIG lunch, which I didnt eat much of, and baked two dozen ooey, gooey homemade peanut butter cookies with Hershey's Milk Chocolate Kisses on top....AND I DIDNT EAT A ONE OF THOSE...WOOHOOO lol

I'm so excited - today I started my Couch to 5K program. Ran/walked 2.11 miles in 30:39 minutes and burned 243 calories.

walked the dogs...twice, and carried groceries to vehicle, in the house, and put them up. Also, carried wet clothes to the vehicle, into laundromat, waited while they dried, carried them back out, and back into the house...whew my arms are tired lol

Good for them and for you. They are getting such a great start on learning to keep moving. Exercise should be easier for them if they keep this up.

The marathon went well it was a kiddie marathon so they both got medals. Of course they wanted me to walk with them and let me tell you 1.2 miles uphill feels a whole lot longer than all the other miles we walked getting ready for it.

They also did a moonlight walk against drugs last month it was about 2 miles.

Gonna have to find more for them to do. They are having fun. It makes it easier for me to go out on the walks when I have someone wanting to go with me also.

I love TaeBo! Billy Blanks keeps you SO motivated to keep at it, and you definitely know you've been working out! emoticon

It has been such beautiful weather lately, I think Fall is my favorite season (although when Spring comes around I always say that about Spring too).
You'll have to tell us if Jillian's 30 day shred is good or not. It sounds intense, from what I've heard about it.

Good to hear from you OSALCOHJWI. How do you like Tae Bo? I don't know that much about it. It is beautiful weather to walk the dogs, I bet they love it.
I have a 1 1/2 hour commute so I can relate to you for not having much time or energy after getting home. I have Jillian's 30 day shred, I want to try this week. A friend of mine said it was really good. She was very sore, guess that means it is good.

Today I did Tae Bo, and I'm about to go for a walk with the dogs. I miss working out, I didn't get to last week, cause I was sick, and then I had to drive back and forth from work last week (it's about a 2hour commute one way). Anyway, I miss working out, and I'm glad I'm gonna have a better week this week.

I hope your knee feel better also. You are doing a great job, every minute of exercise counts.

I found out the problem with my feet is a tendon. The dr. gave me meds and said I should be able to get back at it by Monday.

We are leaving Thurs. afternoon for vacation. I'll be back in full force on the 13th.

Today's workout didn't go so well. I got on my new treadmill again today. I love having it! After about 10 minutes, my knee gave out. Hopefully it will be better by tomorrow (usually is) and I can get a good workout in early on before my knee is tired.

We did 1.5 tonight. We're up to 12 miles. We might have to hunker down and try for 3 a couple nights this week to make it in time. We slacked off for a bit. We have to go every night this week it also doesn't help that the kids go to their dad's house 2 nights a week and he doesn't participate.

How many miles do you have done on your marathon?

Today I walked around the block with our dog. It made me realize how much I miss running.

I didn't do anything yesterday but today I took the boys out for a 2 mile walk at the park then I came home and did 15 minutes on the elliptical.

My only exercise on Monday was watching Monday night football.

Did the jumping jacks make you really sore? Last time I did them I could hardly move. It has been a really long time since I had done them. Just goes to show you how good they are for you.

I have only watched the Olympics. Haven't done anything myself last week.
