I have your blog delivered daily to my Outlook inbox and soooo enjoy your blooms, info and writing style!! It's like my daily treat. I try to comment there at least once weekly under Dee Sparks or Dee SP so you know I'm still lurking.

Not sure what I did wrong originally but here is my post I was hoping to put on this link!

Speaking of Containers - I am working on my window boxes for Fair. I will post my recipe for potting soil and direction on how to keep them blooming down in the Garden Notes Forum at :

Bren's Potting Soil Mix
1 part sphagnum peat
1 part peat humus
1 part compost ( I use rabbit compost)
1 part soil
1/2 part Perlite

In the container I also sprinkle some SOIL MOIST to help keep the soil moist only having to water maybe twice a week even during the dog days of summer.

You can also add a few sprinkles of any SLOW RELEASE fertilizer to the top of the soil after planting.

DOn't forget to FERTILIZE with 20 /20 / 20 ( I love JACKS) at least once a week to insure some FABULOUS blooms!

When you see my photos of my containers at the BGgarden this is what mix I use. You don't have to buy the premixed soil bags. Give your own MIX a try!

Happy ardening Friends!

I can't get the link to work. Is there another way to get to it?

Busy working on some last minute summer containers and I thought it might be useful to share with you all what I use for my soil. I have the best success with this recipe each summer.
