For this coming week, I challenge you to a swim!! Doesn't matter if it is a pool, a lake, a river, a creek - but find a time to take a dip and exercise in the water! Did you know that running in water is actually more difficult than running on ground? Yep! Its true since the water provides resistance. Also, exercising in water is much easier on your joints. I attended a water circuit training class last year and loved it! We had styrofoam dumbells and did lots of different exercises in the water. I knew I worked out the day I was sweating and in water at the same time!
I did finally accomplish my hop scotch adventure!! I hopscotched at Allsop Park, at Two Rivers Park and on the River Trail downtown!! haha! I thought by drawing on the sidewalks in different places that hop scotch may catch on again. haha!! I only almost fell over one time because I am not a coordinated individual, but I did have fun!!
1. (diet) Make a "new" meal this week. Try to find something creative that you don't usually make. Share the recipe you made with the team and tell us if you liked it, what you would change next time, etc.
2. (exercise) Do at least three strength training exercises this week. Make sure one is for your core, one is for your lower body, and one is for your upper body.
3. (community) Respond to the new "October" thread. Especially since it has a question about a possible team get together. *hint hint
