While it hasn't been named a challenge, there are two newer threads under the General Discussion Team Forum that can help you be accountable for fruits and veggies. There is "Fruits-have you eaten any today" and "Vegetables-have you eaten any today". They have helped me remember to add those each day when I look at our team page. Both topics have people posting daily too! Hope this helps!

I love the last idea. Also how about try a new fruit or vegetable at least once a week. Or try a new exercise at least once a week. I know I tend to get in rut and only do my favorites at the Gym day after day. This way our diet and activities stay exciting. :D

I like the ideas about stocking the fridge with cut up fruits and veggies. Funny I did that this weekend.

Maybe to incorporate a whole grain serving daily, or not go over the recommended fat percentage on the daily nutrition report, or to stock the fridge with ready containers of cut-up fruits or veggies for available healthy snacks?

I don't have to convince other people that I can reach my goals. They'll believe me after I do, and I'm not doing this for them anyway.

Kelley,

I especially love the idea about parking at the back of the parking lot. But, I think I'm going to wait for the heat advisory to go away first. Ha. emoticon I think more people will be willing that way. I'll work on working all of the ideas into the challenges! Please join in on the new challenge! It starts on Sunday!

How about a challenge to do something different to stay active. For example I am going to a yoga class on Saturday for the first time, I also plan to swim on Sunday. I would love to get ideas from other members.

Other ideas:
parked at the back of the parking lot
walked the stairs instead of elevator
ate veggies when I really wanted chips

you get the idea.

Thanks for the ideas so far! I'll work on figuring out how to incorporate them into the team!

Edit: Also, I added a team goal (down at the bottom) for people to comment on other members pages and blogs. Please feel free to join that goal!

In addition, I increased our team goal of miles walked to 250/month since we had already met our 100/month goal.

Ugh. I'm so bad at this stuff.

How about a Lint-like challenge?

Picking something that tends to be a game changer for you and focusing on eliminating it for just one month?

It's hard to say never again. But you could say not for the rest of this month. That's a finite period of time. You can make it a month. Then, maybe by the time the month is over, you'll try the potato chip or frappacino or whatever and say, "Whoa, why was I making such a fuss over this?"

*shrug* Like I said, I'm not experienced or particularly good at this sort of thing so ...

I'm just like any other person. I buckle my straight jacket one buckle at a time.

I could go for one or two of the following, but don't much care which:

- exercise every day for a week or month challenge
- exercise every weekday for a week or month challenge
- 8 cups a day water challenge
- fitness minutes in a week or month challenge (in teams or as individuals)
- sticking-to-your-calorie-limit challenge

It would be cool to have definite start and end dates so it doesn't keep going indefinitely and there's an emotional payoff at the end instead of being able to join or leave without being noticed. Can you tell I need accountability?

I really would be happy with just about whatever I can reasonably do, though. Who else has ideas?

I don't have to convince other people that I can reach my goals. They'll believe me after I do, and I'm not doing this for them anyway.
