okay, Becky.. I am sure that you are totally annoyed with flushing your pedometer. Hopeful some day you will be able to laugh about it. Until then though.. that is a huge BUMMER!!!! I should get me a pedometer but at last, no $ for it...Other than this how are you doing?

I am so sorry that I have been MIA. Life has been crazy here as usual. My dh has been home since Monday night and left this morning. I haven't exercised since Sunday... YUCKO!! He will be home again on Sunday evening just for the night .. for our anniversary then goes back on Monday.. He will then he is gone again until Friday so we have somewhat of a stretch to get focused on our schedule business. That means I will hopefully be going to bed on time and getting up on time (early!) so I can have some quiet time to myself, then you all.

I have really enjoyed chatting with you and getting to know you. Are you going to do a new buddy too? I hope we can keep in contact. I have REALLY enjoyed chatting with you as well.

I wrote this on our book club thread and thought you might like it...

LOL... it sounds like we are a bunch of like minded mommas here.... I am dedicated to my kids as well... we homeschool so I am with them 24/7.

Sometimes I miss the carefree girl I used to be (no much or often.. just sometimes) I KNOW now it is because I shoulder too much of ***GOD'S*** responsiblities. This, of course, makes me tired, stressed and cranky rather than being joyful, and peaceful like God promises. I need to rely on Him more to lighten my load.. that is what I am hopeful of learning and actually using as a daily SKILL. I am slowly learning it.. but using it daily is yet another good habit I need to form!

Thanks! Well we are almost to the end of the month and I just want to you know that I have really enjoyed getting to know you.

Is your husband still home? I know it is hard to be focused when he is home because all you want to do is spend time with him and enjoy every minute you have

I am so aggrivated with myself. I want to walk at least 10,000 steps a day, so I ordered a pedometer from walmart and I got it out and decided it was time I started using that thing again. I went to the bathroom and I usually always take it off until I am finished because when I pull my pants down and up sometimes it falls off. So anyway I forgot and when I reached over to flush the darn thing fell off my pants and into the toliet. It flushed right down the toliet. I have another one that I got free from Tylenlol.com but it is not as good as the one I bought.

The past two days I have been spending way to much time on the computer. I have recently found some of my good friends from school on facebook and I have been logging on there and chatting way more than I should. So my new goal is no facebook or myspace until I have exercised and gotten in most of my fruits and veggies for the day.

Now I need to clean my house and get exercising because no better time to start my new goal than today.

wahoo! Becky!!! Happy Belated Birthday!!!! Congrats on your comittment to one year to a new you! yeah for you! Your motivation is wearing off on to me. I have been busy too.. dh comes home tonight so I will have even less computer time than the last couple of days over the next 2 days. But, I, too, am trying to get committed, refocused and serious. However, I am going to get really serious on Thrusday after dh goes back.

I have been working out, not today, yet ::sigh::: but I did my run yesterday. I moved up to week 5 day 2 which is 2 sections of 8 min jogs followed by 5 min of walking each... I am going to do this for a couple of runs, probably tomorrow and Friday.. then on Sunday move up to week 5 day 3, which is 20 min straight.. YIKES.. scarey!

My house needs a cleaning but at last I am tired. My older two children are in deep trouble for disobeying me so I am seeing extra chores coming for them!

yes, the Zumba tapes are very pricey. I only go them for Christmas present from money by father gave me. Check out Amazon or ebay.. maybe you can get them cheaper there... otherwise, continue to do the youtube videos.... there are a bunch of them on there. Glad you liked them.

Anyway, I have to get off here and get something accomplished... I am so glad that you posted.. I was being to worry about you.

Sorry I have been MIA this weekend. It was very busy for me. My email is so full of mail it is going to take forever to get caught back up.LOL.

So how was your weekend? Mine was really good. My birthday is today and on Saturday my family took me out to eat at a Chinese buffet bar and I did so good. I am very proud of myself. Starting today I have exactly one year before my next birthday to get this weight off and that is what I am really going to strive to do. I know that I can do this as long I discipline myself and quit being lazy and making excuses.

I am going to start making out a menu and buying groceries for that menu only. I really want to get serious with getting healthier and smaller. I need too, for myself and my family. I need to start loving and treating this body the way God intended for me too.

I hope all is well on your end. I checked out Zumba on youtube and it looks really cool. I looked it up online and it cost a little more than I can afford right now but I am going to use some of the ones on youtube and add it to my other workouts once a week. I think it could really be fun.

I measure once a month. I try not to weigh that much because I get very discouraged when I don't see the scale move. Sometimes I will two months before I weigh. Measuring is more important to me.

oooh I meant to tell you that I got a new book at the library called "Eat right 4 your blood type." I read the first several chapters and it looks really, really good. A friend on one of my yahoo groups recommended it to me. She says that when she changed her diet to follow the book she got amazing amount of energy! emoticon exactly what I need! So I am going to give it a try.

you are probably right about your body revolting.. emoticon Sorry you are feeling bloated don't forget to drink extra water. A lot of stuff that is made in restruants have tons of salt in them.. more salt than we are used to anyway.

Let me know how you like Zumba. It burns a ton of calories! I have seen anywhere from 350 - 1000 calories per hour depending on your fitness level and size.

I am excited you are going to start jogging again. Are you going to follow any plan? I am losing belly fat even though the scales are not moving. I think the scales would move if I actually watched and controled what I ate!!!! ::sigh:: I guess I should stop complaining about it and just do it! What kind of foods do you eat? Are you able to stay within your calorie range? Do you have a calorie range?

I am doing okay, I guess. I really need to log my food though.. ugggh... ugggh.. something things over and over... right!

Anyway, I didn't feel like running yesterday so I procrastinated until the baby woke up then felt annoyed with myself that I didn't get off my butt and do it when I had a chance.. .so no workout on Sunday for me...

I did do my run today.. week 5 run 1 WAHOOO!!! It was 5min warm up 3 sections of 5 min run and 3 min walks. I am doing good on the 5 min at a time... I am not panting so heavily. I am either getting in shape cardio wise or I have figured out the pacing thing... LOL... but I am not sucking as much wind as I was at the beginnng of starting jogging for 5 min. My issue is I feel like my legs are heavily logs that don't want to keep going..but I just make them go. Now that I have done it once, I keep telling myself you have done this before and lived just keep going... what is it that Julian Michaels says something like if you are not dying or puking, keep going...

I am suppose to do this today then run 2 is like 8 min runs with 3 min walks .. YIKES!!!! I am going to do it on Thrusday..

Zumba'ing tomorrow and Wednesday.. but the 3rd run is 20 min straight running.. ha ha ha ha ha.. these people are crazy!!!!!! So I think I will stay at week 5 run 2 for several runs and get used to the 8 min jogs then move up to the 20 min run...and do it a couple of times before moving to week 6.

Adam will be home late, late tonight so maybe I will start the food log on Thursday when he goes back. I will check in here daily though to see how you are doing. I hope you have some great tips for me with the food stuff since you are so good at that part!

I have to run... ooh darn! I forget a battery for my scales today.. grrrrr... are you weighing in regularly? Did you tape measure?

Have to go.. I still need to blog today and my house is a trash pit so I need to get working on it before the hubby gets home. emoticon

So how are you doing today? I am great so far, except my daughter is selling candy bars for school and I love the caramel bars. So far everyone has said that is what they want so I will be glad when they are gone. The other kinds of candy bars don't tempt me much.

I haven't exercised much today and I need to get some more in before this afternoon. I feel so bloated and full. On valentines day we went out to eat at a mexican restaurant. I did pretty good there. Then Saturday my husband was busy working on his car and I was running errands so neither of us had time to cook. I told my hubby that I would fix dinner but he didn't want to wait that long. He has to eat on time or he is a real grouch.lol. So he told me to go to this little place up the road called Dario. We had supper from there and it's not the healthiest food. And it's not cooked the healthiest either. I guess since I am not use to eating out that much so close together that my body just isn't handling it to well. I feel so bloated and just plain blah! I think for the next few days it is going to be fresh fruits and veggies for me. I hate this feeling. emoticon

I need to do a really good deep cleaning on the house again, so that is on the schedule for tomorrow. I burn a lot of calories when I deep clean. I want to start trying to jog again. I lost weight in my stomach really fast when I use to jog.

so this weeks plan is to do the elliptical everyday for at least 10 min.

tues. deep clean house plus I have laundry to do and I have to run to the laundromat to wash my big comforter that goes on my bed. I am going to strive for 10,000 steps.

wed. I am going to try Zumba on youtube.
Thurs. Tae bo
Fri. Dancing with the stars and if I like Zumba I will do that also
Sat. Walk outdoors
Sun. walk outdoors

I am also going to do strength training Wed, Fri.

hey dear!

I did my run yesterday because Sean (4.5yr) was bothering me to go outside so he could play in the dirt while I ran. So I did even though I was tired from being out running errands and homeschool co-op group all morning and had no plans to run yesterday.

I also got a dvd player.. a BIG WAHOOOOOO!!! So now I am going to do my Zumba tapes.. I can't wait!! yippppeeee!! I was going to rest today but I think I will do the 20 min tape today.

Tomorrow I start the new week of running so I don't want to make my muscles too tired for that as I will be running longer.. not sure how much longer because I am too afraid I will be freaked out if I know until right before I do it. emoticon

My water has not been great- I have been tired and Wed night I had a diet coke and yesterday 2. So I need to get back to my water. I noticed that the eating hasn't been that great either.. valentine's candy.. yummy chocolate... and we had french bread pizza last night.. but now I need to clean up my eating as well as Daniel (my nursling) has been wheezing today because of the diary. ::;sigh:::

I need to get off here and finish working on the chores that need to be done today. I helped my 4.5yr old clean up his side of his room today and have just been picking up this and that that is laying all over. Plus laundry... always more to do though. emoticon I have been sleeping until 7 the last 2 days instead of getting up at 6 like I want so I need to work on that too.

How has your exercise going? How about your food? What are you going to work on this week? What is your plan?

Here is mine:
**Back to logging food.. (I am sure this is why I am not losing any weight beside running for 7 weeks!)
**Back to going to bed by 10
**No food after 8 - I have been eating a light dinner but snacking late at night right before I go to bed so I know this is a bad, bad deal! This habit has to go ASAP!!!

I am so glad today is Friday. I love all the children that I keep during the day but I am so glad it will just be my family here this weekend. I am feeling much better today.

Do you have any plans for Valentines day tomorrow? We never go out to eat. We usually only eat out about 3 or 4 times a year and that is it. I know that sounds weird to some people but we really try to watch our budget. We are going to my favorite Mexican restaurant and then we are going to rent some movies and stay up late watching them. That way the whole family gets to enjoy the day and not just me and my husband.

It is suppose to turn cold here again so I guess our playing outside during day will be put on hold again. I really enjoyed it this week. I love to be in the fresh air.

I haven't done good with my water today. I usually do so good. Water is all I drink. Iced tea use to be my main drink through out the day, but when I started spark, I got use to drinking water again and that is all I drink now. Except today. I need to get busy.

How are you? When does your husband come in again? I have started taking pictures so I can make a collage of where I started in my weight loss and how I'm doing each month. I am hoping a little visual reminder will help. That is why I changed my profile pic to my eyes. I wanted to remind myself that I need to watch and be accountable for every thing I do, and don't do.

oooh you are soooo luck to have a hubby from Honduras! Okay that settles it.. You, my dear, are going to do Zumba.. once you get addicted, you won't care what you look like doing it.. then when you have met your goal, you and your hunky hubby can dance sexy in the living room when the kids go to bed. oooh la la la... emoticon

I do understand about being embarassed in front of the hubby though. I won't jog in front of mine. I don't want him to see the giggle going everywhere! yucko! He has seen me do Zumba though but I usually tell him that if he is going to watch (which he thinks it is sexy... heaven only knows why!), I tell him he has to do it with me!!! That usually sends him scurring off.

It is my TOM too so I understand how you are feeling. About once a week or so, I take a nap with the baby while the older children watch a tv show or two. It helps me get caught back up on whatever sleep I lost along the way, either up with children for whatever reason or not going to bed on time with because of time with hubby.

I am snacking too much rather than eating a "meal" but I don't think the calories are too bad.. although I haven't logged them. emoticon emoticon

My water hasn't been all that great today either though.. so I am off here to go make dinner, drink some water and get the kids cleaning up ther chores.

My "me" time was the nap today, sadly. But I really felt like I needed the extra sleep.. now that hubby is back to training we can get back on schedule and a little more focused. Have to run!!!1

I like to do Dancing with the Stars. It has some latin dances. My husband is from Honduras and he loves to dance. He dances all the time in the house. He can do all the latin dances. I never do my dance videos in front of him because I get so embarrassed. He doesn't care but I do. He can dance so well and I feel silly trying to do them in front of him.

So how has your day been? Mine has been pretty good. TOM is visiting me right now and I really don't feel like doing anything. I hope next week will be better. My son and I have been outside. The weather is so nice but the wind is blowing so hard.

I guess I need to get off of here and do the elliptical machine. I don't want to get out of the habit.

I never sleep during the day. Never. But today I feel like I could lay down and take a nap. Have you been doing good with your eating? and getting all your water in ? Remember to make some "me time" for yourself.

Everyone can do it.. even if you feel like you look silly. Give it a try in your home with the youtube videos. It is fun!

I am going to take a break today. I am tired. Maybe I will go take a little nap. I will run tomorrow. Still not consistant with my food log.. grrrrr... need to start that AGAIN. .. I don't understand why I find that part so difficult to do... ::sigh::: Adam went back this morning so I am ready to focus.. maybe after nap : }

Zumba is like latin dance with a bunch of different things in it... check you www.zumba.com to see some examples. Also you can check out zumba on youtube.com.. just search for zumbagirl4. She has some great ones.

Did my run today! I blogged about it, if you are interested.

I still need to log food for today but kids are fussing about me going outside with them.. so I will have to do it later. I will go get my log book and take it ouside to journal the food so I can add it later without forgetting anything.

ooooh logging that food... eh.. about that...okay I logged everything for today.. not tooo bad.. it took awhile but not too bed. Do you know how to make my logs public? Maybe I have to edit my spark page to do that?

Thanks, but you know even after losing 8.5 inches I still have so much more to go. I just can't believe I have let myself get so big. I need to start really taking care of my body the way that God meant for me to when he gave it to me.

How is going so far today? Have to logged your breakfast in today?

This whole week is suppose to be so nice so hopefully I can get in a lot of outside time away from the computer, tv, and snacking.

HOLY COW, BECKY! 8.5 inches! YOU ARE SOOO AMAZING!!!! Wahooo!!!

Great job on being outside too.. lots of fresh air clears my head!

I am doing okay.. no sweet stuff happening and doing okay on water.. I am going to run at naptime since it is beautiful here too.. perfect weather.. not too cold, not too hot.

I am going to start on Monday writing down my food in a food log.. ask me about it to keep me accountible to that. I need to figure out how many calories I need to eat to lose weight and really get focused on logging it in instead of eating whatever, whenever. I don't generally eat junk food as it makes me sick along with more than a bit of chocolate but I am sure that I over eat on other things.. obviously!!!

Anyway, enjoy your outside time! I will post late tomorrow afternoon again after working out and starting my food log emoticon take care...ooh I meant to tell you that I am starting a thread on Make me a priority under challenges called "Grow with God- book club" we are going to go slow so no one feels too far behind.. check it out if you are interested.

That sounds like a great plan. I wasn't inside much yesterday. The weather was so nice here that my family and I stayed outside most of the day. Then we went shopping for groceries last night.
Everyone is outside right now and I am getting ready to join them after I change clothes.

How did you do over the weekend? I didn't eat no where near enough calories yesterday. I hope that doesn't cause my weight to go up.

I took my measurements yesterday. I usually measure once a month, sometimes twice a month. Since starting spark I have lost 8.25 inches off my belly. I can't believe that. And 3 inches off my thighs.

I don't know when I will be back on today as I plan on being outside again, so have a great day and I will check in again soon.

hey u ok? How is your exercise going this weekend? My plan is to run today. I usually take Sunday off but I kinda missed it yesterday.. as weird as that is!!! So I am going to celebrate God today by getting stronger to do His work.

Great job on the exercise!!!!!!

This is such hard business, isn't it? My scales is on the fritz too but so far it is hit or miss weather they work or not. Do you do measurements? If not, I really suggest that you do!!! Accorrding to my last weight in I was 207.8 but this moring and Monday I am at 212 AGAIN.. COOKIES!! UGGH!!! Also I am pre-TOM (time of month) so maybe I am gaining water weigh.. at least my excuse and I am sticking too it!!

ooh well, hopefully with stepping up my running again it will start going down. I did do my measurements for this month and I am down 2 inches in the waist and .5 inch in the hips.. yippee! That is why I think everyone should use the measuring tape as well as the scales.

I think you hit the nail on the head with "really wanting to do this" It is soooo important, not only for our health but also for being good examples for our children.. YIKES!

Today my eating was ok. I think on Monday I am going to start my food journal again and see how many calories I am eating... I am scared, though.. LOL... maybe I will just write them down for a week or two THEN start logging them here to count calories.

Water has been pretty good. I have had several very big glasses, remembered to take my vitaims but before breakfast on a banana and got totally sick from it. I had to eat a piece of bread and lay down for a little while before I felt better.. uck ... I have had 3 cups of green tea today.. I found a kind I love.. orange, jasmine and passion fruit.. yummy, yummy. Plus I drank a 1/2 cup of veggie fruit juice... and a big salad and little dinner for dinne tonight..

don't get into that no breakfast habit.. that is bad, bad news! As I am sure that you already know! It totally messes up metoblism. How many kiddos do you watch? Yes, yes, running around chasing the kids in the yard definetly counts for some exercise too.

Check out my blog for today when you get a chance. I did week 4 of my c25k training which includes 2 -5min runs and a 3 min run and I DID IT!! emoticon for me!!

Yes, let's try to check in daily but let me know if your schedule looks like the next day is going to be too tight to log on and I will do the same. I log in different times each day. I will try to do mid-day after I workout at naptime.

I know Tue and WEd of next week I will have little computer time as Adam will be home again (can't wait!) but I should be fine until then with computer time.

Sorry. I have been busy today. I only logged on this morning to do my huddles and get my log in points. This is the first time I have gotten a little bit of time to get on. The last little boy that I keep is sleeping right now so I am able to get on, until he wakes up.

I did my exercises today. It is suppose to be really nice here this weekend so I plan on walking a lot. I really want to do this. My scales stopped working so I had to order a new set. They came yesterday. I haven't lost anything yet but I haven't gained either so that is one good point. I am so ready for spring. I want to be able to take the kids outside and play with them, and run around the yard with them. That will be a little extra exercise to get in each day.

I didn't eat breakfast this morning. That is a habit I don't want to get into again.

So how are you doing? Is your eating going okay? Did you drink all of your water for the day?

I will make it a point to check in here at least once a day. Some days it may be in the night before I get to check in with you.

I hope you get it fixed. I am glad you are enjoying being with your husband. And moving funiture counts as strength training in my book. I didn't check in yesterday because I wanted to give you a chance to spend time with the hubby.

I don't know if you have enough room where your computer is, but you could use your computer to do you exercise dvd's in.

We moved our computer into the den and there is alot of space in here so sometimes I use the computer to play my exercise dvds.

Hey dear! I thought I would send you a quick note to say "hi" I didn't get to exercise yesterday but moved furnture around in the living room with hubby. I am enjoying having him home. He goes back early tomorrow morning. emoticon My dvd player is having a problem and not working so I think I am going to have to try to take it apart to see if I can get the tape unstuck in there.. I pray that it will workout after that.

I got in all my Mon. exercises plus I deep cleaned my kitchen and rearranged my daughter's bedroom.


Don't feel bad about eating the cookies. It is better to indulge sometimes or else we will binge and eat everything in site.

One new goal that I have made for myself is I am not going to get on the computer until after I do my exercises for the day.

I am glad that your husband is coming in for a few days. I know you must be so excited.

Hey buddy,

How are you doing today? I am okay.. .stressed but whatever!!! My hubby called and is on his way home... wahoooo!!! I maybe kinda of quiet the next 2 days, maybe... I will try to pop in just to check and make sure you have posted that you did your exercise.

I did mine 60min Zumba today. YIPPPEEE!!! I was dripping sweat by the time I was done and my shirt was total wet. In a weird sorta way, it felt good. How about you? Did you get yours done?

confession time: I made the cookies..:::sigh::: I battled it but finally gave in... I did good yesterday.. only had two but this morning I have more than that... the good news is with my hubby home, the rest won't make it through the night and it won't be in my tummy. emoticon

I have to run.. I need to make dinner before it gets too late and I want to jump in the shower before Adam gets home. Let me know how you are doing today...

I have some other goals besides working out that I am trying to make a habit.... so for today:

I think seeing it outlined like this is really going to help. I have printed this out in a chart form and placed on the refrigerator so I can check off each item as I do it. I am hoping seeing it right in front of my face everyday will help keep my motivated and on track.

Mon: Elliptical, 3 mile WATP video
TUES: Elliptical, Sparks strength training with resistance bands.
WED: Elliptical, Yoga for Weight loss video
THURS: Elliptical, Strength training with resistance bands
FRI: Elliptical, Dancing with the stars cardio video
SAT: is usually some kind of walking outdoors
SUN: Nothing but maybe some 10mn cardio.

*I am going to do at least 10 min. each day on the elliptcal machine.

yes, hubby out of town - sucks BIG time!

Great we are on for 15lbs before the end of April...

My exercise has been hit or miss.. usually I take Sundays off.. and I am suppose to jog on Monday but most of the time don't get around to it.. Tuesday is hit or miss also... by Wednesday I am paniced and almost always do Zumba but still haven't jogged 1x yet... so I jog, Fri, & Sat. The couch to 5 k is suppose to be 3 times a week... ugggh.... However tomorrow is Monday again so it is a new week with a fresh start for both of us! What are your exercise plans for this week?

Here is mine:
M- c25k & maybe 20 min Zumba if the dvd player is in the mood.
T- Zumba (see above about the dvd player!)
W- I should run but not sure if I will but definetly Zumba (60min)
T- off
F- c25k
Sat- c25k if I haven't done 3x this week... but if I have.. I will do Zumba, which I like better anyway.
Sun- off

Right now I am fighting off the desperate cravings of chocolate chip cookies:: sigh:: I am not sure why I am craving them.. I in a bit of a funk mood for some reason and would love a special treat to cheer me up.

I don't have a problem with the food, it is the exercise that I really have to force myself to do. I know if I could bump up the exercise more I would probably see more weight come off.

I haven't scheduled my appointment yet. The computers at my doctor were down that day and I haven't called yet to make the appointment. I need to do that soon. I will let you.

My husband got me an elliptical machine and I have been using that and I do different exercise videos. I want to start walking around the neighborhood again but it is hard to find the time. I keep children in my home and that doesn't stop until 9pm. By then it is too late to go walking alone. So I am trying to find other things to do that are fun and I will want to keep doing. Any suggestions would be great.

That really sucks that your husband has to be out of town so long.

It sounds like you are doing great with your exercising. What is Zumba?

Hey Becky! I am Julie a stay at home, homeschooling mom to 4.. I have a dd 12, ds 9.5, ds 4.5, ds 20 mon. I have been married to my sweet hunny for 13 yrs (March 1). He is current training 100 miles away for a new job. When he is done training he will home for good.. and we can't wait! Sadly we are only on week 1 ::sigh:: and really not sure how long he will be there.. so for now he is 5 days there, 2 days here. It stinks, big time!!

Anyway, I have been playing with this weight loss business for a long time. It is hard for me to focus on everything that goes long with it with life so full and busy. I have been working on couch to 5k training. I like it but have hit a snag at week 3, which I have been doing for 3 weeks NOW. emoticon but this week I am moving on to week 4.. wish me luck! 5 minutes of straight jogging.. YIKES!! I am trying to run, M, W, F but I do Zumba on W as well and that gets to be a bit much so I am trying to figure out a schedule to do both c25k training and Zumba without killing myself emoticon or getting burned out.

I also do a 1 hr Zumba class on Wednesday nights.. which I absolutely LOVE, love, love!! It is funnier when my hubby watches the kids but the baby is going through something funky right now and won't stay at home with daddy.. so I have been having to carry him while I do it for the last couple of weeks.

I just got dvd's of Zumba and now my dvd player is doing something weird and it is hit and miss if it will read the cds... which is really frustrating me.. I need to go get a cleaner and see if that will help...I pray it does as we can't really afford a new one.

If you get a chance, check out my page. I don't get as much time on the computer as I would like, but I usually blog a couple times a week there about different things happening in my life, with my weight loss or lack there of emoticon and my quiet times with God. Mostly it is me rambling... emoticon I am off to check out your page. I am looking forward to having a buddy say, "hey, what did you do today" LOL
