Absolutely! Go to the page where you track your Other Goals. The blue tab at the top has the dates of the current week, but it you click on the left-pointing arrow, it will go to the previous week's dates and you can enter whatever you need to for the days of that week. you can go back several weeks if you need to.

We didn't do so well in November--about 75% of our 15000 minutes, so I will knock the total for December down to a more achievable 12000. This is still a tiny stretch beyond what we did in November, so no slacking; KEEP TRACKING!

You'll be glad you did when on December 31 you're way ahead of the lemmings that are stampeding to exercise in the new year!

With one more day left in the month we are at 111% of our goal! emoticon everyone! emoticon

It's summer, and that helps get members into outdoor pools. We've had a lot of new members join the team lately, and that helps. We have a super duper exercise achiever in LASKIE2, who has put in over 3000 minutes this month.

BUT--

Team membership today stands at 469. emoticon Out of those 469, only 21 people have tracked goal minutes this month. Imagine what we could do if only 10%, 47 members, participated in the goal!

Next month the bar will be raised. Sign on to the goal if you haven't already, and then TRACK it. You'll get points; you'll build streaks; you'll burn calories; you'll have fun while cooling off in the last sizzling month of summer!

Doesn't matter whether getting the full 180 minutes in is possible for you. You still benefit from doing the exercise consistently, still get a point or 2 from the days you are able to track the goal, and you contribute to the overall team monthly total. It's still a winner all round! emoticon

Although I am not by nature a water person, I have found lots of cardio and strength training involved in water. Two of the classes I take are strength training in the water with various weights to choose from. I'm liking it now.

It doesn't matter at all what increments or how many sessions or whether you personally do more or less than 180 per week. It all counts toward the total team goal.

I think three hours a week is a reasonable goal. Does it matter if its inthirty minute or sixty minute increments? Usually classesnare 45 but when I go with my husband we aim forty thirty minutes.

Get splashing and most important of all, get tracking! Remember, you can track for previous days and weeks, so fill it in! We can do this!

On the team page you click "join this goal". This sets you up with a place to track it from the team page or your sparkpoints page. On the team page you click on "track this goal" or on "other goals" on your points page. Either way, you get to a row of boxes representing the current week for all the goals you track. Click on the day you want to track for, and a small window comes up where you enter the number of minutes of water exercise you did that day. Click "save" and the minutes should show up on the goal tracker. You can track for several days at once, go back to previous weeks, or even track for future days.

Fitness tracking in general is a bit weird for water exercise, as most water aerobics is strength and cardio combined. I think most of the team agrees you just have to do what feels right according to your own judgement. Rummage around the discussions here and I'm sure you can find where we've talked about it.

I'll admit it--the August minutes goal was set pretty high, but with new members coming in all the time and the last month of hot weather, I thought it was the best time for a big challenge. Weather will start to cool off starting this month, and our outdoor exercisers will have fewer opportunities to use outdoor pools. So I trimmed the monthly minutes goal back to 13,500 for September. That still doesn't mean it's going to be an easy slide, though.

And remember--It All Counts! Even if your minutes for the week don't add up to 180, they still go toward the 13,500. And every day you track the goal you get a SparkPoint for it. But most of all tracking this (or any!) goal helps you build consistency, and that puts you on the path to a healthier life.

So splash it and track it in September!!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Participation in the team goal of water exercise 3x per week has been pretty poor in the month of January. We didn't even make it halfway. I realize that some of our members use outdoor pools and the chilly weather has kept them on land, but I think there are enough of us with access to indoor pools to meet the goal if we try hard. 7,200 may sound like a lot of minutes, but it is only the equivalent of 10 people doing 3 hours per week for 4 weeks. Surely there are 10 out of the 300+ that can do this!

To participate in the goal, you must click on "track goal" on the team page right by the bar graph. And then on your points page every time you do water exercise, click on "other goals", then click on the day of the week and enter your minutes. You will get a point for every day you do this and can start a Spark Streak! Your minutes get added into the team total (even if you do it less than 3x). Help yourself to consistency and help the team toward our goal!

Certainly does help, CHOCSUNDAE! Everybody who tracks this as a separate goal adds their time to the overall total, which is the equivalent of only 10 people (out of 300+!) tracking 3 hrs each per week for a month. AND it gives you a little points reward for your consistency!

For January 2010 we have a single team goal: 1 hour of water exercise 3 times a week. In order to participate, you have to join the goal and track it on your SparkPoints page under "Other Goals". When you do, you get a point for each time. Like all other exercise tracking, you put in the number of minutes each day. Expressed this way, our goal is 180 minutes per week. We only need 10 people doing this consistently to meet the monthly minutes goal.

There's a new "undefined" goal for December--leave a comment on a team member's SparkPage 3x per week. Remember, undefined just means that there's not a total number set for the month. Support your fellow water babies and earn a point while you're at it!

Our defined goal of water exercise 3x per week means that we have to have at least 10 people doing this AND tracking it as an extra goal. It may be a little harder to get your pool time in this month, but make that little extra effort for yourself and for the team! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Goals have changed in accordance with feedback from team members.

Permanent goal is 3 hours (180 minutes) per week of water exercise. In order to participate in the goal you have to add it from the team page and track it on your points page under "other goals". You'll get a point per day for doing it and the site will track your streaks. If only 10 people (out of nearly 300 members!) do this for the month we'll reach 100%!

Second goal changes monthly and is related to supporting the team and team members. This is a tick the box goal and is "undefined" because a monthly number has not been set, but it does show a running total of the number of times the goal has been tracked.

You don't have to track these goals every day you do them. You can track them all at once for the week or whenever you have time.

Join, track, earn some points, start some streaks of sparks!

Information only, don't post here. Thanks

Please join your team in reaching our goals.

1st is our Water Fitness goal of 60 hrs per month for our team. This includes swimming or Aerobics. It should be easy for us to complete. I think we are capable of double but I'm starting small:)

2nd is 5 miles a day. 10,000 steps roughly equals 5 miles and is recommended for all around physical health. 20k a day is recommended for weight loss.
If you are just starting out, I suggest that you do it slowly. Better homes are built upon stronger foundations. I feel the same about habits. Taking our time to build them will only make them stronger.
