sorry to hear you were having such a hard time...I hate that TOM too.
I went through the most intense job interview of my life on wednesday! I walked in and they had me fill out about 10 pages worth of application stuff (I'm not exaggerating either) And after that I went in for the actual interview, and the first thing they di was drig test me, then told me I need to go get fingerprinted so they can do a background check, I need to get CPR certified, they need copies of my Birth Certificate and Passport, and I had to go get a TB test. Then came the questioning...I was so exhausted afterward, I really hope I get the job, I am so short on cash right now.

As for my work outs, I've been doing ok...haven't gotten to the gym much this week but I am trying to park as far away from my class as time allows so that I have to walk. I've been doing ok with my diet, I slipped and had a large oreo milkshake and fries yesterday (it was sooo good) but other then that I'm staying on track.

thanks yeah, yesterday wasnt great. I agree. I will get back up and it will be alright, yesterday you couldnt convince me of that tho. (jk)

anyhoo--I had a bad day all around yesterday, but today is a new day and Im movin on. I think my spanish exam was alright. I dont thnink I have a terribly hard teacher, which is nice because she is simpathetic and I the kind of person who bennefits greatly from teachers like that. I am not the person who takes advantage of it and slacks. I just know i am going to have a hard time in spanish and she seems to be willing to work with me. Im glad. anyhoo...last night I didnt get to bed early enough because I had to finish my research for english 2.... omg.... speaking of it starts in 15 and Im still at home...g2g !!

I think I am going to workout after work today cuz I dont have time before work so yeah...

First of all, It's Okay!! Everyone gets sidetracked- esp during that TOM. Don't let this ruin your outlook! Instead of saying "damn I ate 3 cookies and had a coke so I'm off track for the day" just say "okay, got a litle sidetracked but now I'm going to continue with my plan". Never have that all or nothing mentality. We are all bound to fall, just make sure you get back up girl! With classes in full swing, maybe a job, and other responsibilities- it's hard. but keep going and you'll def benefit. emoticon

hey all,

IM NOT DOING SO HEALTHY TODAY!

Firstly, TOM (time ofthe month) has gotten the best of me this time around. Im moody as all h*ll, Im soooooooooo tired,Im bloated and I have cravings like ive never had before! I fought it yesterday but it was exhausting! I am going to check into the mirina(SP) a coworker of mine has it and she loves it. I have tried 3 dif. birth control pills (includeing the patch ortho tricyclyn and yaz), and the nuva ring....none of them work well for me. the ring was the best but it gave me terrible cramps. like cramps that made me feel paralyzed! it was so terrible. Sorry Its just my whole life I have had a mild TOM and its ridiculous now that im 22 things are going haywire on me. I am about to run out of good health ins. so I need to look into getting the mirina cuz its good for 5 years. idk.

anyhoo the point is. I bought 3 cookies and a can of coke that I am eating for studying for my spanish exam. I am skipping my other two class's today because I feel like sh!t and I am going to study. I feel crappy to let myself down after doing so well for the past few days...but its like a loosing battle with my body. MY BODY HATES ME! its either not wanting to loose weight, not wanting to exercise, wanting to eat naughty foods, not learning spanish, or going through TOM! (i know a lil dramatic)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok I am done venting.

hey all i ran jogged yesterday in between my classes because I didnt have much time for anything with these back to back exams and I am also researching for my 10 page research paper. Yeah, its a lot so I didnt have much time to workout. I didnt get strength training in but I did get 10 min of joggin in. which to me is at least something. I pri only burned like 100 cals or something but hey...

I dont think I am going to work out today I have a spanish exam tomorrow and I work tonight so right after work(when I useually would work out) I will be going to the library to get some studying done.

I somehow need to fit in this dang research paper in. I am supposed to be doing some research now but I am just not finding anything through the search engines I need to use. Its ridiculous! whever.

Hey all! made it to the gym on sunday...I'm doing a similar interval on the treadmill...I haven't done any weight training so I really need to work on that, but I have noticed that its easier for my to go up stairs ( I have to walk up several flights to get to a couple of my classes) and my dress pants that haven't fit in a while, fit now! I can button them, but they're still a little tight..gotta keep workin! At least I have something to wear to my interview tomorrow...

I started around August 25th, and I've lost about 5 pounds. I didn't notice the weight loss much until I put on a pair of my capris--they have been -tight- around the stomach, but now they're much looser. 5 pounds doesn't seem like much until I find a 5 pound bag of potatoes or something and hold it up...then the effort is suddenly much more tangible.


I usually play DDR: Supernova for around an hour a day (until I've burned 1,000 calories in the game) on Expert...I love the game, but I know that I'll need to up my intensity or switch to something else for a while to burn more calories. DDR's almost like a full-body work-out...my lower legs are thanking me for it. Much better than sitting on a stationary bike. There are treadmills and things on my campus, but admittedly I'm a bit too self-conscious to try those out yet--I've always felt self-conscious about running. I probably will use the ellipticals, though.

Interval training like that actually burns more fat. When I trained for a 1/2 marathon I did 3 minutes running (at 6.5) and 1 minute walking (3.5). Then I slowly worked on taking out that minute so I could run the whole thing... (I ended up getting injured and couldn't actually do the 1/2 though, it sucked hard core).

I ran yesterday (in the rain, it was awesome) and did 50 minutes w/o stopping..that's the longest I've gone in a while..but i forgot to stretch after and am sooo sore!

I'm going to do a 2 mile run tonight and then 30 minutes of weight training

you know that is where I am at right now...

I have not lost any but my clothes feel good so I am still working...these lbs are bound to come off one way or anther.

I worked out yesterday and it was a great workout! I did intervals on the treadmill for 24 min. I did run three min. (5.0) walk three min. (3.0) for 24 min. its a great workout actually plus the last 2 running sessions i bumped up the speed and the last one I was running at (5.5). I think I am going to do this workout 1 or 2 a week. It was really pushing me to gain indurance I think (well anything is...seeing as I have none...lol)

well I should be off to head to school for my exam today. yay (boooo actually lol)

p.s. Lunges last night made my butt feel sooooo tight today!!! even though I stretched ahhhhhh haha.

Good luck girl. hope you do great. I have 3 tests this week..but I'm still going to exercise 5x/week..I've lost a little, not much though. But still feeling better. I feel like I'm gaining muscle, losing fat and maybe thats why the scales not budging much..but my clothes are looser!

as everyone else, been very busy since classes started! i've managed to hit the gym at least 4days a week (but my strength training is seriously lacking...), my eating is still pretty good. hope everyone is staying strong!

Been Super busy, but I've been pretty good, I go tot the gym 3 times this week and walk/jogged for a half hour. On top of all the walking I'm doing around campus. I ate out a lot this week, but did my best to eat smart...I haven't lost any weight, but I've maintained so thats better then nothing.

I'm still here...I've been SO busy getting back in the swing of nursing school. My exercise has stayed consistent..my eating is all over the place though..sometimes way too little, sometimes way too much..so i'm pretty sure I've maintained my weight, which is okay for now...

alright everyone were on another week and I was wondering if anyone was interested in next week having a mini challenge to finish out the ending of phase one (the first 4 week section)

I was thinking we could set 3 goals just mini ones like (drink water, exercise, and eat veggies all week) something that can be tracked each day of the week, then we can report how well we did on attaining that goal at the end of the fourth week....

let me know who is in....

were in to loose weight guys and i think we need to step it up a notch...

i'd love to be able to run 15 min!! i just started running. it's my goal to make through one month of the couch to 5k plan. (i have one more day to do it, and i completed my goal!) so far i'm running at 5min at a time before i'm walking. i have asthma, though, so it gets really hard to breath. i NEVER thought i'd be running!!

yeah i am sure u already know this stuff, but ur body is def. in starvation mode.

have you ever thought about just trying to maintain a healthy weight (which you are a healthy weight) for about 6 months. Then taking small steps in weight loss?

Your nutritionist def. knows more than I do but it just seems like an uphill battle trying to do both too soon.

Dont think I am out to get you by saying what i said...I'm only a sparker...not a nutritionist, so idk what is best for you only you both do. I just want you to succeed in whatever is best for u and I will be here on the messege board to support u when u have those bad days.

great job with the jogging, that's so awesome!

I'm having a really hard time...its like wanting to lose weight triggers me to go back to eating disorder behaviors that I thought I was over. Yesterday I ate around 1200 calories and ran about 12 miles...which I know is sooo bad for your body bc i burned off everything I ate. I've got to learn to do this in moderation!!

well I can proudly say, I got up this morning and jogged the longest distance so far. (its not a lot but it excites me!)

I have been jogging down the same few blocks and making a quick note to self where I got really tired, and even where I started walking. this time I jogged the entire thing and walked the very last block (because after I made it up that hill I was pooped! I really am proud of myself even if it was just jogging for 15 minutes...thats more than I used to be able to do....seriously when I started this challenge I was soooooo outta shape, and I dont know if I would even have been able to make it down one full block. its crazy how ur body starts to feel once you start treating it right!

wow, today I was super upset almost depressed about my money issues...and I didnt overeat...

im pretty proud of myself. I felt like it but i just tried to stay busy...im off to go to my boyfriends and read a book. wish me luck

p.s. ate well today even under my cals...so the fact i ate calamari last night at donalds birthday doesnt bother me as much...plus i worked out today! yay to me.

It really has been hard turning down unhealthy food at school but I've managed to resist so far! i just need to be more consistent with the strength training. at the end of the 12 weeks I want to:
1. feel so much more confident in myself
2. keep this "lifestyle change" mentality i have
3. master the art of finding healthy food at a restaurant all of my friends want to go to
4. keep up my gym schedule
5. still be addicted to SP

I just transferred to a new school, first day September 2nd! I fell off the wagon this summer, but have been really motivated this past week. I want to keep it up!

Mt goals for when school starts:
1. Have a set work-out schedule.
2. Bring healthy food & snacks for class/subway rides/at work etc...
3. Eat only all natural/whole foods.
4. Keep a POSITIVE attitude!!! it's the only thing that keeps me going :)
5. Lose a minimum of 10 pounds by November.

just wondering what is everyones goal for the end of this 12 weeks...

**I want to become more consistant in my diet and exercise regime. I want to work out 5 times a week with three days also having cardio, and eating within 1300-1500 calories per day. I also want to consume 2 liters of water each day.

Gosh, being back at college everyone is like "i haven't seen you in forever, lets go eat" hah..so I've been out to eat like 3 times in the past 2 days. Needless to say, I haven't been eating all that healthy.

I still got up at 6:30 to go for a 4 mile run though, so that's good. I plan on weighing in either September 1 or 3, that way I don't get too down about the weight I'm sure I put on after these past few days...

wow. hard to believe first week down...

How did y'all do?

I am pretty proud of myself. i woke up this morning at 830 am and went on a small jog...then did strength...this whole thing is def. going to take some getting used to tho.

Im going to weigh myself today...(i need to buy a scale but I am afraid i will become obsessed with checking so I stick with the one at the gym!)
I hope I lost some weight...even if i didndt I feel better!

Hello everyone!

School started today...so far classes are good but tomorrow is my busy day so we'll see how that goes. I just joined a gym down here that's really close to my house (yay, no more long drives) unfortunately I think I am going to be without a computer for a couple weeks so I probably won't be on as frequently, but I keep you guys updated as best I can.

I haven't really been working out the past couple days, though I have been doing a lot of walking around campus, and I had to carry my (heavy) books back to my car the other day so thats at least better then nothing.

How is everybody doing? Did anyone else start school this week?

i should have worked out last night...instead... I went out....

I had a hard day then blew it on alcohol.

Lame.

Today is a new day. I will start a new and not spend too much time worring about yesterday. I do have to say since I have been working out and not drinking...my tolerance has gone down dramatically...thats odd but hey.

Alright I am going to do my lower legs workoout in between jobs I think. or on my lunch break. lol. because I have to get it in somtime and I am too dehydrated to do it this morning...

do it today, that way you don't over-do it tomorrow! today i did legs and upper body. it turned out to be a 45 min workout. wow!

hey all I am up early today cuz I got a dr. apt. out of town. Im going to get my elbow x-rayed to see how things are healing (3 weeks ago I broke my elbow...long story cut short...i was jogging and tripped on a hanger lol...go ahead laugh I did...even tho it hurt sooooooooo bad.) wish me luck.

today and tomorrow are busy days for me. today is supposed to be a rest day and tomorrow is legs but I dont know if I want to rest today cuz tomrrow is a busy work schedule for me? Im pulling a double. hmmmm maybe i will shift it.

Hey everyone...
It seems we all have a lot in common lol. My bf lives about 2 hrs away during the school year so I only get to see him once a month...twice if i'm lucky. It makes leaving for school so hard...I am not looking forward to it! (I leave on saturday)

but yeah...I am still very under the weather, makes it hard to get out and move, but I think I am going to go to the mall with my mama, so thats at least walking. Better then sitting on the couch.

yah, I slept in too and am supposed to go run, but its 95 degrees...should be loads of fun ;)

And I'm feel ya'll on living as strangers w/ your boyfriends...mine lives 4 hours away from me..ha, If I'm lucky I get to see him one weekend a month...which is actually this weekend :)

i know what you mean! my bf and i already live as strangers. we work opposite shifts, so the only time we're together is when we're sleeping. i'm also getting a slow start today. i slept in later than i normally do, and i'm dreading getting to my run because now it's pretty hot out!!

i just saw this post today but ive been working out 5 or more times a week bc i play vball for my college team so its intense...we started preseason last friday and have 3 practices a day... practices are not always a lot of cardio though bc sometimes we do more skill work..so i want to join this to keep me going and doing cardio so I am gaining more muscle but still losing the weight i want to ...so im going to start taking those stairs to my dorm on the fifth floor even when im tired... [ive been sore for the past 5 days hahaa] but its getting better.:) keep up the good work everyone!! emoticon

Oh gosh...moving...I'm doing that on Sunday & not looking forward to packing, I'm def a procrastinator too.

I had a really good work out today, I did the elliptical for about 30 minutes and then did an ab workout for 10, I felt really energized after, it was great!

OBSIDEONDRAGON-- Hope u get to feeling better soon!! I hate being sick!! that is part of the reason I want to exercise and eat right. I know that always helps my immune system. But when I do get sick its always hard to get back out and exercise...consistency is lost and it kinda brings down ur spirits, But no worries!! You will feel better and get right back into it all!! keep us updated!!

devotchka-- I totally understand that one!!! I myself have been moving!! plus i live on the second floor and no elevator so it totally forces me to work out those glutes, calves, and hami's!! (and arms...heck its a total body workout!!) Thats soo nice of you to help others move. I was too lazy to help anyone other than my boyfriend...I suppose it wasnt just laziness it was the fact that I was packing myself (im such a procrastinator!) lol.

well in a few min I am bout to head off to work...

I got my cardio and trouble spots workout today! plus I unpacked a lil!
