I love walking and hitting the bike at the gym. I'm SLAMMED with reading every night, so I just take my book along whichever I'm doing, and it's easier (for me) to do either of those and read, too. :) Gets me to exercise while still fitting into my schedule.

I also really like this yoga stretching type video I have. It was from fitTV and it's a really good way to stretch your entire body at the end of the day. ^_^

I live where it is usually very cold, so my exercise is often limited to indoors. I like the elliptical as well as I have recently taken up racket ball. Unfortunately my racket ball partner is back home so I play by myself. Also since it is cold and we have a large campus I take advantage of speed walking to and from classes and the bus.

I like the elliptical. My knees get cranky if I work at too high of a level, but I like how it's so variable. I find I can work out a significantly longer time doing that rather than running on a treadmill. I listen to music. Each time a new song comes on I feel refreshed.

I am probably in the minority, but I LOVE lifting. I used to hate it (I used to be required to lift and have to do it at 6:00 in the mornings), but now it's no longer required and I find myself craving it (but at a decent time!) I don't work my legs so much as I can do that on the elliptical, but I love working my arms, back, and abs. It can be intimidating at first when you grab little 10 lb weights while the gigantic guy next you is grabbing the 50's, but go with a friend. It'll motivate you to complete the reps.

ooo I would love a rower! They're so much fun and unlike some machines were you can't wait to be done and off to the next step, make you feel like you're immediately accomplishing something. Besides all that, you can turn it into a game and compete with others :)
My personal favorite exercise is just get out and run, run, run. I run on the treadmill all the time with my faithful iPod shuffle to keep me going. Now that the weather is a little cooler I'm able to run outside and have been taking my brother with me...it's nice to have someone else to run with for support and motivation.

I love to just walk, I could walk forever. I can do it by myself or with someone, listening to music or just nature's soundtrack. I also really enjoy the speed of biking, it frees my mind and I love the wind rushing across my body.

I really like doing the treadmill once I actually get on it! Running is so liberating feeling. It's like you can feel the pounds melt away and escape years of being overweight. Run from old stresses and toward new goals!

For the last few months, I've been obsessed with the elliptical machines at the gym where I work out, but lately I have started running- I decided recently to run a 10k at the end of August and have been running about 6 miles a day for the last three days. I guess I like to run! :)

I like to ride the exercise bike at 3 am in the morning and watch Discovery Health shows about babies (not sure why, since I have no immediate baby plans). It's fun to be awake at a time when most people are asleep. Sometimes I will ride with music playing but I seem to cycle more rapidly with the tv in front of my face.

I really like the elliptical, too; I usually do the elliptical while watching my favorite TV show which helps me work out longer. Recently, though, I've discovered the greatness of FitTV and the Exercise channel on Demand. On FitTV, they have this amazing Namaste Yoga in the morning, and it gets me into the mood to start my day right. Also, the Exercise channel on Demand has awesome exercises that really get your heart rate up; plus, you can do these exercises whenever you want!

I find the cross-trainer is best for burning calories but my knees aren't too keen on me doing it for too long. I prefer the exercise bike when I go to the gym.

Also, what is an elliptical? Is it an American thing or something? I've never heard of it. emoticon

It's possible I'm a loner on this (I took a poll on here once and was shocked to find myself in the vast minority), but I loveeeeee taking exercise classes! Some of my favorites are Zumba (latin dancing! SO FUN!) and kickboxing/Turbo Kick. The former is great for just boogieing down, the latter is great for getting all your stress and tension out.

When there aren't any classes I want to take on a particular day, I swim or use the elliptical. Biking if it's nice outside.

I love to do a fast pace jog/run listening to some kickbutt country music. I also have a mini rower in my house...I like to drag it into the living room and watch a movie. The rower is great because it works you all over with out stressing any joints or the feet. i.e. you can keep it at for a LONG time without getting too tired

I'm up for any kind of exercise as long as I have something to keep my mind off it. I actually made a shelf so that I can use my laptop while I'm on the treadmill. I haven't gotten good enough to type but it's nice to pop in a movie. My iPod is my best friend when I'm not on the treadmill. Otherwise it's just me and my thoughts, and that can get a little scary.

Hey! I've fallen in love with using an elliptical. It took me a little while to get into the swing of it, but I've really grown to love it. And I find that time really flies by (especially if I'm working out to the beat of whatever music I'm listening to).
