I think the worst trigger food would have to be chocolate and then a bottle of coke. This is the second day without it and its super hard!! But I will get through it. :)

Carbs and sweets. Carbs and sweets in mass quantity usually. Then once I start, I can't stop stuffing my face with them :(. It's just better for me to have no cookies at all then just one cookie. Cause it won't be just one cookie haha.

Peanut butter and muesli - I could eat these all day! I find a place for them in my diet plan though and just have to have the willpower not to go back for seconds.

Although it's not even my favourite food, salty snacks seem to be the bane of me. I can't open a bag of chips and just have one serving, nor can I sit next to the computer with a box of crackers whilst working on a term paper without eating the entire box.

I love chocolate, but I can control my chocolate consumption easier, it seems.

Rice Crispy Treats & ICE CREAM.
Sooooo Weak.
I try to just keep Ice Cream out of the house. There are like 4 ice cream shops within a 2 minute walking distance from me, so that's hard.

And Rice Crispy Treats? My family tends to not have them in stock, but we have lately, so I'm trying to avoid 'em. Not exactly working thus far.

Since I started dating my boyfriend I have picked up a lot of his eating habits, like drinking 4 cans of Mountain Dew a day and ordering chicken wings or other fried foods when we go out. We also were eating basically no fruits or veggies and eating out every day.
I have an addiction to eating out and wanting every single one of my meals to be delicious and perfect, and I'm slowly learning that if I eat a sandwich and some fruit for lunch, I'll live. I'm also trying to get better at cooking and eating in because it's a lot easier to monitor my food intake that way.
And Susie I feel you on the Peanut Butter, I used to eat a PB+J every night as a midnight snack for years.

Hi! I'm Susie and I'm addicted to Peanutbutter. I used to eat a jar a week, and thats when I realized I need help lol. I don't even keep it in the house and if I try to sneak it in my friends take it away lol. My coworkers won't let me eat it either. So far that's been the only solution and it's worked. But once I start it's like I can't stop. Unfortunately the school year is ending and I won't have the same social support :-( we'll see how that goes

I tend to really crave salty foods. We have a lot of food in our common room and it's hard to not grab the crackers, pretzels, or peanut butter.

I also love non-fat chai tea lattes. They're only 150 calories but I hate drinking calories, especially when it's so expensive.

My biggest trigger food Is for sure candy... but I should say chocolate. I fight to go a day without it and if I indulge it turns into a spiral of doom. Next thing I know I'm crying with a stomach ache cuz I just downed a half a container of Nutella. luckily I'm learning to control myself ^_^. Which is nice cuz now I can incorporate a little chocolate into my day without busting the caloric bank

Haha it seems like peanut butter is a big one. Definitely my #1. I have banned it from my apartment. I think I might try almond butter though. I tried it a long time ago... I remember it being significantly less delicious than PB but perhaps that would keep me from shoveling it into my mouth...

Cereal is another big one for me. I usually just don't even buy it but when I do I separate it into single serving baggies and that usually helps.

I love hummus, and I love wheat thins...but I usually would put peanut butter on them. Chips AND chocolate are weaknesses for me. I used to think of it this way - if it tastes good, it's worth eating (and still do, but am now in the practice of logging my intake)! But I'm going to try the hummus and wheat thins. I think I would enjoy that, so thank you! :)

Chips and Salsa are definitely my trigger food too! Once I get started eating them I can't stop because I absolutely love the salsa. So, if I don't have a lot of salsa I'm good, but otherwise I eat way to many. So, now, I try to keep them out of the pantry so that they aren't even a problem! So far, so good!

Chick-Fil-A and pizza bagels! Both taste amazingly good, but have a lot of fat in them. (Yet, somehow the mexican place manages to trump them for highest fat.)

Haha...mini frozen cheese pierogies. They're really, really quick to make and cheap and in theory they're only 180 calories for like 6 of them. But that's if you boil them..which I do not. I used to sautee them with onions when I got home from a particularly hard day at work or school and use them as a motivator to do my reading. Right now, I don't buy them..and instead have mini multigrain tortilla chips with reduced fat cheese and onion powder sprinkled on them. But nothing replaces the happiness potatoes for me...

My trigger food has to be chips and salsa. If I have the both of them in the house I will wind up eating half of the salsa and more than double the amount of chips that are in a serving. That is why I only have them both in the house during certain times of the year or when I make certain food so that I'm not as tempted.

I would say the whole dessert section at the dining hall near my dorm, but more specifically it has to be the ice cream freezer. There may or may not be cakes/cookies/etc. that I like on a certain, but I know there will always be chocolate ice cream and toppings that I looove just waiting for me. :'(

My trigger food is usually something salty but not savory like chips or pretzels. Lately I've been getting those wheat thins toasted chips, because they have a heartier flavor to them, and I couple it with hummus, and that sates my craving for something salty, and sweet, because the chips, since they're whole grain, have a slightly sweet flavor with them.

I find that I don't overindulge on them, and I feel my hunger curbed if I was hungry for something, but didn't know what.

The 'breakfast case' holds all my trigger foods like bagels and donuts. If I start the day off wrong, I just keep eating.
As for peanut butter, I make sure that i don't keep any in my dorm. I know that if I need peanut butter I am going to have to go to the food court cashier and ask her for a small, single-serving case of peanut butter.

Peanut butter and cereal.

I CAN'T have them in the house. There's just no self control. I'll measure out each serving as I eat the entire box, but I can't stop.

As for PB, I'd like to buy some PB2 so I can start incorporating it more in my diet.

What are your trigger foods and what do you do to keep them under control? Eliminate them altogether, or come up with a trick to subdue your cravings? I am in the process of eliminated peanut butter from my diet! TOUGH STUFF! emoticon
