I personally have a huge problem with drinking too many calories as well. I don't drink too often (mostly because I am broke), but when I do, I end up drinking pitchers full of sugary drinks because I can't make sound decisions after my first two vodka and diets. It also doesn't help that there are about 30 college bars within 5 blocks of my apartment, so the temptation is always there. For me, the best thing to do is alternate run and diets with water or diet soda. That way, I won't be able to drink as much and I won't lose self-control at the end of the night.
