My roommates are a bit bigger than me and they all call me tiny but I'm technically overweight. They all want to lose weight, but they never do anything about it. One said she would play DDR with me starting this week but she hasn't joined me yet. I'll play DDR whether anyone joins me or not and I'll keep letting her know when I'm playing for the next week or two and see if she keeps making up excuses.

My room mate is also tiny. she has to by clothes in the children's section because she can't get clothes to fit. If i could manage to have the self control to eat like her i would be very happy

My roommate probably weighs 115 soaking wet, she is ridiculously tiny. Although I do love her. sometimes I despise her. Mostly because she eats crap like spaghetti and meatballs, chicken wings, or huge huge subs for lunch and dinner every day; and she doesn't work out. Brat.

I'm grateful that she doesn't complain about being fat though, she thinks she needs to gain weight, but isn't body-obsessed. Still kills me to look over my salad and see her noshing down on that bacon-cheeseburger though.

Urk I know exactly where you're coming from! I have two tiny flatmates. One is comfortable with how she looks but the other is very vocal! However, I know she is recovering from an eating disorder so I try not to get irritated-although it's difficult not to! She does seem to live off ice cream and cheese covered Baked Potatoes though.... emoticon

What bugs me the most is when roommates/friends complain about being "fat" but do nothing to change it (i.e. stop eating all the junk food, or go exercise, etc.). It drives me crazy! Don't complain if you're not going to do anything to fix your problem. Sheesh.

Run, run, run... :)

Just keep doing what you're doing: exercising, eating healthily, etc. Unless you want to confront your roomies (which doesn't sound like fun to me), or move out (also not so cool), just learn to ignore and keep on working your way to a healthier you. You can do it!

Run, run, run... :)

Unfortunately most people have body hang-ups, at size 0 or size 20 :( I have a friend who is tall and slim, she's confident too, but she's still got pieces of her body she doesn't like. We used to go shopping together when we lived in the same city, and she was like a size 4 and I was a 14 and she would moan and complain about what she looked like in some clothes, then happily help me find things that looked good on me. The key to dealing with her was to realise, that she wasn't at all projecting her body issues onto me. I actually asked her one day what she thought of me and found out she was jealous of my chest size LOL
If these roommates are your friends, then hopefully they're not including you in the list of people they don't think look good. If these roommates aren't your friends, well then they're shallow, immature people and when you get the chance to move out do so and never look back!

I had three roommates. Two were very skinny and the other was very fat. All they would do is complain about weight too! I feel your pain but the best thing you can do to maintain your sanity is to ignore them. Just forget about them. Whatever problem they have is not yours. Or maybe you should move, I did that after about two months of dealing w/ these girls.

Maybe you should just confront them. My new year's resolution was to stop being passive aggressive, so that's what I would do. emoticon

My roommate hasn't picked up any of my new healthy habits. She considers half a bag of Doritos a well rounded meal and doesn't cook at all. Sometimes I wonder if she know what a vegetable is.

eat before you go and just get a drink. i'm horrible with temptation and my roommates usually do the same thing to me as there is nothing to really do except...go out to eat. but if i am hungry-i get the least threatening thing i can

My roommates are always going out to eat to fast food places and inviting me to go along, even though they know I'm trying to lose weight. And a taco sounds WAY better then the salads I'm normally eating. What's the easiest way to not be tempted to go with them and just have one?

Well I can tell you that I can give you their side of the story. I am 106 lbs right now and am recovering from an eating disorder. At my lowest I was 88 lbs and still thought I was FAT!!! It is all in their minds as it is with me. It is not something that is easy to change, and it is hard to hear ppl tell you that you are too thin and need to gain weight when you yourself think you are fat. I am not saying that they have an eating disorder like me, but tons of girls have body dismorphia, where what they see is not what everyone else sees. As girls in general we tend to be too judgmental of our bodies anyway. Tell them that they are beautiful the way they are, but you all can start planning healthy meals and snacks together and going to they gym together.
Good luck!!
