You know I've never really eaten oatmeal because the mushy texture kind of freaks me out (I have the same problem with bananas). Another great option is muesli, which is similar to oatmeal but not as mushy and with raisins and nuts. Familia is a great brand that I've been eating since I was a kid, so along with the health benefits, it's got some nostalgia for me.

Oatmeal (especially steel-cut or whole oats) with only a little bit of brown sugar, maybe some craisins or banana slices. You get some healthy carbs, it makes you feel full, and it's something you can eat slowly, so ENJOY it, don't scarf! I hope that satisfies your craving!

I was in a grumpy mood this wondering and I started searching around the kitchen for some comfort food. I figured, I had to eat breakfast, so why not something that would make me feel all warm and fuzzy? But most comfort food isn't exactly healthy (pancakes and syrup? ugh! mashed potatoes with butter and cheesy macaroni and cheese? don't get me started). So I was wondering, what's your weakness and how do you try to make it healthy?

I'm a carb-lover, so I try to substitute in whole wheat options.
