Finals are horrible. I have my two hardest ones tomorrow and Ive eaten a ton of oyster crackers (such a weird craving). I try to keep my normal habits up- sleeping 8 hours a night, working out for an hour a day, and eat well. Finals are not forever, so we can always jump back on the health wagon!

I get the same problem. I just get so stressed out over finals, like the paper I should be finishing right now, I just find myself snacking. I try to keep healthier snack options around but I usually wind up going for the cookies. Doesn't help that almost every fast food place known to man is within 10min drive.

Ahhhhh! You're just like me. I end up bingeing EVERY night because I get sleepy. Does anyone have any tips? I've gained over 10 lbs since before Thanksgiving and, being a vegetarian whose family doesn't CELEBRATE Thanksgiving, none of those are holiday pounds...

I end up waking up every few hours in the middle of the night to continue my binge. I'll go into the kitchen like half asleep and eat half a box of cereal. Damn stress. Just praying it's mostly water weight...

Right now I'm studying for my finals that are all on Monday, and I'm trying to stick to only eating when I need to, but I'm finding myself wanting to snack just because I don't want to study anymore and need a break...

I have finals next week and I have been trying to get all my papers finsihed up (I've had to write about 8 over the past two weeks), so I have been struggling to keep myself from snacking while I study late nights and from grabbing the closest fast food during the day and evenings since I don't always have time to plan ahead.I've done pretty well so far by trying to take my mind off food by continuing studying or taking breaks and going for a walk or even taking a short drive.I still have a week of mind blowing stress left to go though. I'm with you guys, we just gotta stay focused....even when finals turn our brains to jello.

I am definitely afraid of eating more during finals.. I eat when I'm stressed and to also keep myself awake.. study time combines the two of them ugh! I had extra money on my mealplan so my friends and I bought all of these snacks that I know that I would just constantly munch on! I ended up putting my bags of goodies in my friends room so I dont have easy access lol.. Im just going to try to keep healthy snacks around and track everything I eat/

Good luck! Let me know how ya cope!

I used to eat a ton during finals time and changed my workout plan in the midst to less than I was doing before. I always put on a few pounds during finals time. But not this year! I've changed it up! I pack several snackbags of fresh veggies or fruit in my bag so that if I get hungry or get the munchies, the only thing to reach for is good food. I also carry a pack of gum and a water bottle around with me EVERYWHERE I go. Anytime I'm tempted to eat I drink water and wait a few minutes. If I'm truly hungry, then I eat; if not, I pop a piece of gum and move on.

Exercise releases stress and can cure you of boredom at the same time. Take a few minutes every hour to walk a few laps around where you're studying, run up the stairs a few times, or get some pushups in. You may not have time for a full workout everyday but as long as you're still eating healthy and trying to sneak in some exercise, you'll be able to pick right back up where you left off once finals are over.

Good luck on finals to everyone! I know what a stressful time it is! Ick. (:

Thegirlparadox.. I got it.. Yeah, I think that we all tend to snack a little to break up our day when studying.. Like I said b4 just try to make sure what you snack on is healthy and filling then maybe it will relieve the anxiety, if that is the correct word to use in this context.. Again best of luck.. Good luck to everyone with finals.. :)

@ KeeKee, I don't stress eat... I'm almost never stressed anyways, it's a kind of boredom eating when I work on papers, and this is my first paper. I didn't plan to stop working out because that's what relieves my stress.

I know I'm definitely worried about it. Whenever I get into my "finals mode" I tend to do really intense working for hours and I don't stop for breaks to eat anything. I only stop when I feel like I'm starving and then I end up eating more than I should have. I'm going to try and stock up on things to munch on while studying in my room (like nuts or fruit) but we can't eat in the library (where I'll spend most of next week cramming) so that may not last very long.

Not so much.. I think that I have made it through stressful midterms and projects already throughout the year that I have been able to curb the over eating.. So here is a suggestion if you know that is your process, come up weith a game plan to avoid that.. Put toghether a multitude of healthy snacks so that you are picking at healthy foods.. Eat things that are heavy, like Carrots and apples, because then you won't eat that much becaus you will already be full.. Make sure that you get sleep and try and walk around or go for a jog during your study breaks, that way you get the best out of a stressful period... Best of luck to you

Okay well I know my parents got me a care package, the "healthy" care package, that my school offers, I don't know so much what's in it. But I gotta say... I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be eating more calories than usual during finals... I think. I tend to eat a lot just based on the four previous finals periods I've gone through. Fall semester finals especially suck too... I have a paper to write... a long one... and that's when I eat the most.

Is anyone else worried about maintaining their health while maintaining their grades?
