Almonds are great, just try not to eat more than 1oz., about 24 kernels...they are high in calories.

The only thing I have in my room that hasn't already been said is dates. 23 calories each, but sweet and yummy and completely natural. Mother nature has a sweet tooth too. ;)

I also like the Special K bars. Also, I just discovered Wheat Thins Fiber Selects. I know I don't get enough fiber and I love crackers.

Kashi. All natural yummy products.

Also canned fruits last longer.

Bags of mixed nuts or dried fruits, pretzles (honey braided wheat satisfies the sweet and salty cravings), graham crackers (teddy grahams are great! and the chocolate ones yummy too.)

granola bars, almonds, fresh fruit, 100 calorie popcorn, dry cereal, whole grain pretzels, whole grain pita or pita chips... and if you do end up getting a refrigerator you could have yogurt, sugar free jello, carrots and celery

Apples with peanut butter

BBQ pizza, it's more like a meal (I know) but it does have a lot of good stuff for you and it will fill you up. Whole Wheat tortilla, louis rich chicken strips, bbq sauce and low fat moz cheese .. yum! **Add some veggies too!

Total Cereal (cinnamon) with non fat milk, always hits the spot!

Rice cakes with peanut butter and drizzle of honey!

Snacks are my biggest weakness, so I try *really* hard to keep healthy choices around me. I've been opting for lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, nature valley granola bars, almonds, and yogurt.

This is a list of the only foods that I keep in my dorm. I realize that some require refrigeration. I keep almonds, fiber one bars, and total raisin bran cereal, tea, some of those calorie-free flavored water packets, and skim milk!

I'm a sucker for fruit and protein bars. The bars are a bit heavy on the calorie side (Total Protein is usually about 180), but they fill you up and aren't junk.

I second the vote for Special K bars! Also, there are some shelf stable packets Wild Garden Hummus To Go. Good with pretzels.

I used to keep a bunch of the 100 calorie packets in my office at school.

Dried fruit. They keep for a long time, so you can buy large bags of them.

This doesn't help if you don't like oatmeal, but if you get quaker flavored oatmeal in those little packs (preferably the reduced sugar ones) you have a healthy dose of energy when you need it. It requires microwaving, and comes preportioned so you can't mindlessly grab more of your "snack" until all of a sudden the bag is empty.
