Haven't been able to lift weights, do yoga or even clean my house because I had a cyst removed from my back so my normal daily walk and then the treadmill so make sure I burn those calories for the week.

After takinging Monday & Tuesday off from my daily walk because of the holiday weekend, I walked my normal 3 miles outside and then did 1 mile on the treadmill!!

I stuck with my food program today and it's a veggie dinner tonight. My girl turns her nose up at veggies. Actually, she gingerly takes them in her mouth (to be polite) but then drops them someplace away from me so my feelings don't get hurt.

I made a healthy, awesome, dinner. And even shared some asparagus with the dogs. I love buying veggies the vet has cleared to share with them. Helps me make better choices.

I worked in the garden accompanied by my faithful co-gardener who's always on the lookout for what shouldn't be there (strange people, dogs and cats, squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits). She's always ready to dig a hole for me also.

I adopted my dog. She reminds me to exercise with her, feed the birds, feed her, get the paper and make sure the cat gets off the table. Then when I'm done with all that stuff, she presses against me with her warm body and all my cares jusr fall away.
It was a fluke that we found each other but what a happy one for me.

Getting my self back into my calorie burn range so I can eat! (and I like to eat, lol). Bought a manual treadmill for those days when we don't walk long enough outside or jog, I can jump on that and get to my jog in or reach my daily burn!!

Bread is my biggest enemy! I have noticed the more I stay away from it, the less I want it but once I get started, look out!! lol

I've been wanting a heart rate monitor so I finally splurged and bought one. I am so glad I did too! It helps me keep my heart rate at a calorie burning rate and gives me more of an accurate reading on the calories burned which can vary from 50 - 100 calories from what the tracking tool here says. I do know they are only averages here, but WOW!!
Does that mean I can eat more now?! LOL

Blah! Never eating at Jason's Deli again. I had a panini that was terrible, so what I did right was to take it apart. I ate some of the chicken and the spinach leaves along with a few of the baked potato chips. Nasty. I don't think this deli will last too long in our area.

I planned to take the boys to a new place in town called Jason's Deli tonight. I read about it in the paper and it sounded like it was a chain, so I went online to look at the nutrition info. and was I glad I did that! There's almost nothing on the menu under 500 calories. Even their salads are in the quadruple digits. We're still going since my oldest is trying to put on weight, but I'm planning on cutting whatever I eat in half or even thirds.

I know if I open the jelly beans they won't last long, so they're still being held hostage in the closet. Maybe I'll open one bag when the boys get home, that way I'll be lucky if I get 3 beans.
Okay, the other thing I did right when I bought the candy was to buy a pedometer. I figured since my favorite exercise is walking, I should probably own one. I bought one that's the size and shape of a credit card. If I finally figure out how this thingamabob works, it'll be cool to know how many steps I'm walking.

I finally broke down and invested in a good pair of running shoes, even though I NEVER run! My heels hurt whenever I walk, so I thought running shoes would help since they are made to cushion the force of the heel hitting the pavement.
One trip to the Runner's Edge - 1 dollar (for gas) One pair of Saucony shoes - 125 dollars Four miles on the treadmill - 0 dollars Zero heel pain - priceless!

I have increased my intake of fruits. I haven't bought any munchies like cookies in several weeks now, and haven't had a soda in I don't know how long! I have had a random candy bar or two, I admit. I joined a new gym yesterday, and today I rode the elliptical there for 45 minutes! And I had salad and an apple for dinner! Ok, I wrapped some of the salad in a tortilla to make a salad-burrito, but it was still a decent and responsible dinner :)

I finally got the courage to get back on my treadmill yesterday and today and walked for 30 minutes each day. I've been scared to try it, even if the dr cleared me, I am afraid my hip bursitus will come back. So far so good.

I didn't eat the candy, but I'm telling on my office! I filled up the candy bowl, or rather a large basket, with two large bags of chocolate on Friday. I was out of the office Monday and Tuesday, and when I came back to work today all that's left is 6, yes I counted, bite size snickers! Holy cow I'm shocked! I knew it would be gone by the end of the week, but it's not even half over yet!

The stores around me are talking about charging for each plastic bag you use with your groceries, so I bought several reusable bags at the store! Good for the pocket book & the earth!!

I filled up the candy bowl at the office yesterday.... with nothing but chocolate,and I managed to stay clear of it! Now let's see how well my willpower is going to be next week!

I lost 2 pounds over the holidays!! I was weighing in at 128 & today I was 126 after a week on vacation.
My new mountain bike helped.

i have started to walk up and down stairs instead of taking elevators and escalators. it's something little, sometimes only one floor up, but its a start! way to go for everybody. those are all good things!

I have really been sticking with not eating after 7:30p.m. My sleep has improved since I've become more consistent with this rule.

OK, I have kicked myself out of this funk I have been in the last few weeks. I have started getting my eating back on track and just generally adjusted my attitude.

Hi everybody, let's start posting what we did that made us feel good about ourselves. It doesn't matter how small or big, as long as it was a step forward in your progress and made you feel good.
Things have been going pretty good for me lately. I'm super proud of myself right now. For the last couple of months, I've started to run again and it sure feels great. Granted, it's a small run (not even 1/2 mile), on a hiking trail (up and down) but that's improving weekly. A little background on why I quit. In 2001, I was diagnosed with a skull base brain tumor (non-cancerous) and went through 16 hours of surgery. I lost most of my upper body strength and whenever I would try to run, it would cause me horrible pain where my surgery was and I'd have a headache for the rest of the day, so I just quit trying. Today was my best day at running. DH was coming up behind me so I sped up and I ran the uphill part a little further.
What did you do right?
