I heard that it was good to reward yourself for the little steps that you accomplish on your path to the bigger steps.
So I started a little reward system. For all of the little things, like drinking 8 cups of water or hitting the treadmill for half an hour or eating 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, I give myself $0.25. For the ones that are more difficult, like going without diet soda (one of my serious problems) I give myself $1.00. I keep track of all the money that I've gained by accomplishing these things and on my payday, I give it to a good friend of mine who puts it in a jar, just so I can't break into it on those days that I just don't feel like going to the bank. And when I reach my goal weight, she's going to give me the jar, and I will get to take all of that money and spend it on myself. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, because I don't know how much will be in there, but it gives me some motivation to keep working on all of those little things that lead to the bigger one.
Does anyone else reward themselves for those, are just the big accomplishments?
