I'm going to end Sept with 29 AF days. I know, what was I thinking drinking on the 29th day??? I did put the rest of the wine in the freezer, for my soup. So I wont be finishing it up tonight. So I will be AF on the last day of Sept:-)

Well tomorrow is the last day of the month and to date I only have 4 AF days tallied up. Having a hard time getting in that oh so important "first" day AF ... I know once I get it in I feel so proud that I go for more...

Time to renew my commitment for October to beating all of my month's in 2009 and getting a minimum of 20 days in!

Will be posting the October Monthly Challenge tomorrow evening or early October 1st.

Sparkles, at least you keep your intake down - that's great, too!

Made it AF, so that's 7 this month. Friday's here, so I think we will have wine with dinner. As long as I can limit it to just weekends!

Wow - keep goin' Sandy! You're gonna pass me up pretty quick here. I didn't make it AF today - WAY too stressed out. Decided "it was time". Kept it down to the 24 oz, but I bet my calories are gonna show it - then ate spaghetti for dinner - whine. I better work out real good tomorrow!

Looks like another AF night - that'll be 7 so far for the month. That has allowed me to limit my calorie intake, so I hope I can get rid of the couple of lbs I put on during the summer "partying".

I've got 8 for Sept - thought I'd have more for this month, as there are fewer weekend days. but nooooo. Keep nipping those 24 ozer BL's on weeknights. AF yesterday - had a calorie deficit of -562!! I could actually LOSE WEIGHT if I kept THAT up... hmmmm. I'd really like to lose a few more lbs before Halloween.

Hey SPARKLES you're ahead of me as I have 4 so far this month but it's ok... what counts is we have some days that are AF. Life will keep happening but if you notice, with time, things change and we can incorporate more 'healthy' days than NOT and THAT is the difference!

ok ok ok - I'm BACK...haha. Have been AWOL. Only 5 AF days for Sept - sigh. And it's the 17th!!?? Oh boy. But I've had 3 in a row this week - haven't thought about it too much. After LAST week, it's a good thing - need to even things out - haha.

well, for Sept I'm not doing too good for AF days. MIGHT have a couple - will have to go back & look. Have been having one of my 24 ozers several nights when I normally wouldn't. Have been running myself ragged, stressed out, etc etc. Not making excuses, just haven't CARED as much as normal the last week. And I haven't been feeling well, & the 2 beer equiv seems to calm me down at least. Actually makes me feel better. Maybe after this weekend is over. (have company in from out of town - a business associate of my husbands - for which reason I've been cleaning house all week)

Thanks, Jennnva - the wedding was wonderful. Since my husband's band played, I ended up staying up REALLY late and having too much wine.

Helene - hope your trip is wonderful!

And Livinwell - I, too, need a renewed commitment to less wine. I get plenty of water and nearly enough exercise & healthy food, but those calories from alcohol! Wishing you well!

I am getting started a little late, but I think this challenge and team are what I need! I have conquered healthy eating and making fitness a part of my everyday life. I still have weight to lose, but the only achilles heel still hanging around is the wine drinking. I know it affects my overall success. My food choices are not always good when I drink and I don't feel rested, energetic and ready to exercise some mornings, too. Ultimately I want to go AF forever, but my goal for this month is to be AF the rest of the month.emoticon

Well got my 2nd day in AF for the month! Not a great record but will be back to AF concentration from the 16th on (for weekdays at the very least).

SeptS - I'm glad you had a good birthday and I hope the road trip is a safe and happy one (I'm sure it will be)

As for me, I remain AF for Sept and made it through the holiday weekend. I seems to get easier as time goes by. I'm really determined to drop at least 5lbs this month and I know I have to stay away from the alcohol to do it.

Well after a weekend(ing) of celebrations, haven't had an AF day since the 2nd but working on today being AF. With my road trip starting tomorrow... AF will be near impossible with all my visiting and celebrations.

As we increase our AF days, we decrease the calories we take in resulting in progress! It feels great to have my first AF day in for September... not sure about today though as it's my b-day ... but who knows?! Plan for today - ENJOY!!!! (which doesn't always have to involve a drink now to do so)... now that's progress!

I wasn't counting my AF days back in August, so I don't know how many I had:-( It will be interesting to see what I can do this month. It's probably better for us to keep track like this, so we can really see just how much we are drinking. Go Team!emoticon

I too am curious to see how much of an impact going AF will have on my weight loss. I had 17 AF days in August. My goal for September is 23.

I am aiming for between 10 and 18 AF days... 18 is aspirational and I can push for that... but 10 is more reasonable... so anything over that is a bonus.

I didn't count the total days in August... but will count this month.

Sept 1st - AF!!

AND

I am planning on counting my units. This what I need to cut down more than the days. Better to drink 1 unit per day than 6 in one night as I have been doing... so I am aiming for less than 14 units per week to start with.

I'm aiming high for September. I'm really curious if not drinking will help me lose weight more easily. I'm also wondering if it will help my mind be more creative and sharp (but that would be hard to measure) I pledge to 29 AF days in September. I probably had less than 10 AF days in August, so this will be a big change if I manage it. I told my husband this goal, and he promised not to offer to pour me any drinks.

The summer months of July, but especially August, were my celebration/vacation months, so I'm really looking forward to the more "serious" months of autumn! Ha! Seriously, we overdid our celebrations last month, so I will definitely be getting in more AF days in September.

Well, I may not seem very ambitious, but I'm aiming to stay the same as I did in August, & maaaybe add one day. I had 15 in Aug & will be happy with that again, maybe plus one day. This will be harder, since we have one less day this month! I personally do count my ounces, as I have to put them on my food tracker anyway, & every ounce not drank is 9 or 10 calories I don't have to walk off! (that's about 198 steps per ounce of beer folks) Whiskey would be about 1518 steps per ounce! So, for the challenge I'll comply with the AF days - which I really do need.

New month - new challenge and new start for me. I was not AF the last week in August but Sept is here and I'm setting my stakes high. I know I need to keep the alcohol out of the picture to lose the rest of my weight so I plan to be AF for Sept. I'm interested in seeing how much weight I can lose.

I'm going to set my goal for Sept to be 20 AF days also. I really would like to try to be AF through the month, but I know I have a few things coming up this month. So 20 might be more realistic. Best of luck to everyone in Sept! Let's GO Team!!!emoticonemoticon

Well, as I'm going on a cruise for a week, where I know I won't be AF on any of the days, I've decided I would like 20 AF days in September and if I can do that I shall be very pleased with myself.

I'm wishing everyone a lovely, healthy, September and hope we can all meet our goals.

Okay as promised here is the new thread for September with a slight twist to the title... rather than counting or putting numbers down of how many drinks we'll have in a day or during the month, let's pledge how many AF days we'll have for the month!

For me September is a huge month of 'celebrations' with my birthday (Sep 3), my sister's bday (Sep 9), and my nephew's wedding (Sep 12)... which will be the ONE BIG celebration of all three events! So I know I won't be AF come that trip back home.

But I do pledge AF weekdays (Mon-Thur) aiming to achieve at least 10AF days this month (in June I had 8 days). July was my vacation month (no counting there) and August - managed to squeeze in 7 or 8 (will tally in tomorrow on the August Thread).

Looking forward to seeing the Team's posts/goals for the month!
