Hi, I am 70 and have lived in WI all my life except for one year in Alaska. (that was as a child) My main exercise is walking, indoors and out. Really need to get back to doing MORE of that walking. I haven't had the surgeries that many of you have had so I should be doing more. Do keep active doing things with our 14 grandchildren. They all live within 16 miles of us so we do get together OFTEN. Wishing everyone a great healthy St. Patrick's week-end.
I have not created a SPARKPEOPLE and I have been in SparkPeople since 2008. I am a young 72 yrs. old and very active given, 6 back surgeries and a hip replacement. I work very hard to stay active and not dwell on the things that aging brings my way. I have lived in Wisconsin all my life, and after returning from California a week and a half ago temp. 85 degrees, I still love the seasonal changes of this fine state. I will try to get a SPARKPEOPLE after the weekend. I really like to have a source that I can share with new ideas to further improve a healthy life style.

Hi, I turned 60 last October. I have lived in Wisconsin/Northern Illinois all my life. For me exercise is an issue. First because I don't like to do it and second the weather is a good excuse for not being outside both in the winter (temp, snow) and mid summer (mosquitoes). As for health issues, right now I am blessed with good health, only meds are for high blood pressure and cholesterol. Trying to avoid joint replacements by losing the weight.
HiI'm 67 and live way up north. Love WI even tho the winters are long. I keep active with my Wii, walking my stairs( we heat with wood so many daily trips to stoke the fire), walking the dogs when it's not too bad out. In the summer I love to swim in our litttle lake and walk in the woods( altho the tick diseases the dogs keep getting might keep me more on the road this summer). not quite 60 yet (57) but have 2 hip replacements, 1 knee replacement and other problems that a lot of older folks have, my best advice for the wisconsin winters is to find a place that has a warm water pool and join a senior or arthritis foundation water exercise class. Great exercise, great socializing and just plain fun.
MOVING AND MAINTAINING. Yesterday is gone, let it go, tomorrow hasn't happened, don't long for it. Today is the present .........enjoy it
I'm 66 and recently retired. After spending 2 months traveling in Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana we have come back to Wisconsin. I haven't been able to get back into exercising yet but it's always a challenge in the winter. Too cold and snowy outside and hard to get motivated for indoor exercise.
The road to success always has detours.
