I found it so hard to give up the evening snacking but have a milky coffee at 8ish now instead of eating. It's just enough to satisfy. Usually hubby makes it then I can stay out of the kitchen away from any unexpected temptations. :-)

My current mini goal is to drink a pint of water before each meal. Been doing that for almost 4 weeks now but I know it would be so easy to stop so that is my focus.

1. cut back on meat - red meat no more than 3 times a week and "meatless Mondays"
2. 20 minutes of yoga plus 1 strength exercise at least 5 days each week

I'm with you (or at least I hope I'll be leaving with you). I've ramped up my exercise from 10 min a day to 15 and trying for most between 45-60. All this water! I may float to 180ville. emoticon

My mini goal is to just make to the New Year and still be in the 190's! I am off of work starting tomorrow until after the New Year. Since my workout room will be a guest room I am printing out a 3 day free pass to a local gym and paying them a visit! My mini goal is to ACTUALLY go to the gym!

Sugar free and gluten free till tomorrow for another team. Then will go sugar free and gluten free till Tuesday. I do this in three day cycles. I plan for breaks from my fasting in advance. Such as I had one slice of soda bread on St. Patrick's day.

My goal for this month is to lose 5 pounds by the time I go to Vegas. I was supposed to lose a lot more, but oh well. No time like the present! I'm going to log in to spark people every day as well. Wish me luck!

Here are my 3 mini-goals for June:

1 - Do the best I can with eating and exercise while on vacation and get right back on track when we return home.

2 - At least 1575 Cardio minutes, hopefully more if I can get some in while on vacation.

3 - Lose at least 4 pounds (hopefully more), so weigh 193 by the end of the month.

I am going to post mini-mini goals since we are 1/2 way through February. These are my goals to achieve by February 28.

1. Lose 5 lbs bringing me down to 194
2. Do strength training at home every day (alternate areas of the body)
3. Get back to tracking everything that goes in my mouth every day on the Nutrition Tracker. I was doing really well on this but let it slip.

Since I want to be 168 by Thanksgiving, that gives me a breakdown of about 3.5 lbs per month or 10 lbs per season. I want to be 195 by the end of winter, 185 by the end of spring, and 175 by the end of summer.

My daily goals are for activity, healthy eating, and adequate rest/recovery.

I just woke up!

My goal is to be 188 by 1/31 - that's 23 days away! Nine pounds in 23 days! That's @ 3 pounds a week! What am I waiting for?

I have lots of things I can do better - if I do them I can reach this goal. If I don't reach it, I may still be out of this 'ville!

Gonna get it cracking today!

how is everyone doing? I sure hope you are all getting to your goals! I have now found myself craving fruit instead of a candy bar! dont get me wrong i do still eat crap like ice cream. But i am working on that. I guess maybe well go back to the 8-8oz cups of water challenge. No body seems to be doing these in this group. has anyone been doing this goal?

I have been trying so far today i have only gotten in a half a banana but its not even 11am yet. I have been focusing more on the 8 cups of water a day. So far so good!

But my mini goal is to drink 8 glasses of water a day. I haven't yet made this goal yet. I try really hard on most days and can only get to 6 glasses.

Hey, let's revive this thread, maybe with 1 mini goal/challenge a week.

We'll leave the floor open, first person to chime in sets the goal for the next week.
How about starting them on Sundays, unless that's your off day, then start on Monday

My 3 mini goals for September is:

* Exercise 45 min, 5 days per week
* Take at least 1 day off from all exercise, including evening walks. (I have this habit that has developed to do some exercise everyday. It's wearing me out)
* To do my personal best each day, keeping in mind my end goal!

My 1st mini goal is to lose 3 pounds by August 8th, which will put me in 180-ville, 2nd goal is to do my circuit training 5 days per week, and 3rd to stay positive and not let negative family members hender my progress!!

If you want to accomplish your goals, you make a way! If you don't, you make excuses!!!

I'm a little late to this thread, but I decided that if I post my goals in a public forum then I'm more likely to stick with them through the end of July.

1) Go to the gym 5+ times per week.
2) Focus on my abs again - 100 crunches each day I go to the gym.
3) Be proactive in eating foods that are lower in fat.

Height: 5'9"

Total lost in 2007:
40 lbs. and 40.5 in.

Total lost in 2008: 3 lbs. and 6.5 in.

Total lost in 2009:
27 lbs. and 15.0 in.

2012: A new beginning.

my mini goals are 2 pounds a week. And 1 hour of exercise Mon-Friday. With 2 hours on Sunday as a jump start on the week.

I agree that mini goals are very helpful. I do have a couple all ready.

1. to walk 125 miles by July 31st...already walked 32.

2. to lose at least 5-7 pounds by the 31st.

3. to get in the habit of regularly drinking at least 8 cups water daily.

Its important that along with BIG Goals that we set MINI Goals to help us along the way. A great way to set MINI Goals is to take it one month at a time.

If you were to set 3 mini goals for yourself for the month of JULY what would they be. We have until July 31st to achieve these goals or get close to them.

Take some time and think about it and than write down 3 mini goals that you would like to achieve by July 31st. Write them on a piece of paper and put them where you can see them everyday.

Put them on your sparkpage where you can see them; add them to you blog/journal so you can see them.

If we have our mini goals in front of us. We have a good chance of achieving them.

Be realistic about the goals and be specific. Say something like "I want to have lost 5 pounds by July 31st" or "I want to learn to drink 8 glasses of water a day by July 31st", or "I want to challenge myself to be able to do 50 crunches by July 31st".

But be specific and realistic and this is something you can do for yourself each month. Hey if you don't achieve all of your mini goals in one month carry them over to the next.

But having them in front of you is a great for motivating us.
