Spring has sprung and let us get on with a green cleaning challenge. It may be hard to want to adopt a green cleaning regiment all at once... especially if you already have a suite of cleaning products in your home.

I challenge each of you to create an alternative for some of your cleaning needs this month. Just give it a shot.

Here is a comprehensive resource to use:

I thought this would be a great challenge this month for a few reasons. First it is topical, even Real Simple has green cleaning tips in the latest issue. Second, you can burn some calories cleaning and it is something all of us can do (even those of us still in some snow).

If cleaning products are something that you are not ready to tackle yet then consider finding re-use for anything you are getting out of your house with freecyle.org, craigslist.org, ebay.com, or a local charity thrift store. Charity thrift stores are having a hard time in this economy too and are not getting donations like they used to.

Please post other cleaning ideas you may have. Or e-mail me with future challenge ideas. I would love to take the challenge outside for next month when it is warmer with some green work out ideas.

Until then have a great month with spring cleaning and making your Earth Day plans.
