Kind of late in posting, but I use the DDR mat.I can step on any of the keys,so I try to hit them all at some point. The controller and nunchuk weren't registering all the time and I was getting frustrated.I still haven't tried the balance board.

I have had the Walk It Out game for a few months now. I walk around pretty much every day. I enjoy trying to find all of the song and clock pieces. It keeps me entertained more than a regular treadmill does. I prefer to use the Wii balance board when playing because I feel like it gives me more consistency in measurements.

If you have tight shorts you can put the nunchuck on the front of your thigh inside the shorts. That is what I prefer.

Thanks Jeanut. I'll try the sock idea and I guess for now I'll stick to the controllers, I don't own a board so I might get one down the road.
Yesterday I found myself wanting to play before bedtime and new that wouldn't be a great idea!

if you have the game EA Sports Trainer you can use the leg strap for your Walk it Out game
Or you could use a short sock and a couple of safety pins
With the board you can't lift your legs as high mostly lifting the heels
you can feel it a lot in your calves that way
My daughter prefers the board I prefer the controller
you can check accuracy by wearing a pedometer
I love the game and use it as my major cardio
so far I'm losing wt.

I ordered WIO from Amazon and just got it this morning, 3 days early!!! Thank you Mr. Mailman!
I was just going to 'try it out for a minute or two today because I've already been using Gold's Gym Dance and have a workout scheduled for today, but after playing it I just kept going. I logged in 44 minutes. I couldn't believe the time just flew by!

What do you do if your pants don't have a pocket? I know I'll be wearing shorts as it gets warmer and they don't have any.
Does having the balance board add a lot to enjoyment or accuracy?

I just got my WIO yesterday and I loved it. It makes walking easier for me because where I live the weather is already too hot to walk outside. (It's also smaller and cheaper than a tread mill. lol)

I used it with the remote/nunchuck but I've got a balance board that I might try. I've also got the DanceDance Revolution and control mat coming. I can't wait to try it that way.

Sometimes, I find it is accurate with my heart rate monitor. It depends on what else you are doing. How quickly are you moving to the songs? Are you do the fast beats or the slow ones? Do you do other workouts alongside it? I do Leslie Sansone for example and so then my calories are much higher than just using the calories that Walk it Out gives.

Hope that helps some.

I just did 20 minutes and it said I burned 140 calories. If I do 20 minutes of step aerobics, it says I burned 100 calories. So I think either WIO is too high or Wii Fit Plus is too low.

I don;t know I did a half an hour of wio this morning and it only gave me 66 calories burn rate. That does not seem so high to me,

It DOES seem high to me too. Not sure though. I suppose it is what you put into it. If I step really low it may be less, if I step higher and put some energy into it it may be more. No real stats or studies on this one.

Does anyone think the calories burned that the Walk It Out game gives you is too high? According to the game I burn twice as much calories playing it than I do when I do step aerobics in Wii Fit Plus, but the step aerobics feels like more work. Any thoughts?

I know you were talking to Pdxlor but I would love to see your list. I am always on the lookout for new games to try because I like to have variety so I dont get bored. I am afraid if I get bored then I will get discouraged and quit so I am starting to add games to my collection so that I can do which program motivates me that day.

I just got the game yesterday and I like it, but I just want to keep walking and I have to stop to hit the little things to get points because my wii pointer goes all over the place. The numchuck also keeps falling out of my pocket. It said you can use the balance board with this game, is that better?

Turned my sister onto this game. Told her to go to Amazon too. Don't know of anybody else who has it. For such a good game, one would think there would be more action on it. Although, I remember looking at it a few months ago and disregarding it because of the cover picture. It looked like maybe only kids would enjoy it.

I bought Walk it out probably two months ago. WOW. Who knew I'd get this involved in marching in place?!?

Loving it - and I've finished most of the game. Other than the things that will always be there (the rainbow bits, and the games), I'll have run out of things to "do" in it. It has been great for motivating me to keep going, though, with all the things to build and find. All I have left now is building the rest of the landscape! We've also discovered that I'm cracking the games pretty well - I may need to rachet up the settings as for as the step count and such goes, and turn penalties back on! It's great for getting back into moving around on a regular basis, for those who are just beginning their fitness journey.

Just got this and played it for the first time yesterday for 30 minutes. What a workout! Had to order it from Amazon, cause none of the stores I went to had it.

I just picked this up on Amazon. I am stoked! I needed something to do with my winter. I HATE the treadmill (after two solid years of it being my only form of exercise in the winter). Fun, here I come.

There's a Walk It Out for Wii team you should join. You can see the link for it in my profile, as I am also a member. I signed up when I bought the game, and it really helped answer a lot of questions for me. There are several pages of "tips", so there's no more confusion. :)

Hi Everyone,
I just bought the Wii: Walk it Out (WIO). I really like it but there are a couple of things I am trying to figure out. Any help would be appreciated.

I usually use my Wii at night. I exercise then get ready for work the next day and then go to bed. The WIO game has a real time function so I am walking in the pitch black dark on the game all the time. I keep buying street lights and looking for clock pieces but it is really slow going.

I was able to use it once during the day and it was a world of difference. I am thinking about trying to fix my overall Wii by flipping it by 12 hours so AM will be PM until I find the game pieces to unlock the clock function in the game but if anyone has a better suggestion I would prefer just to fix this game rather than mess with my time overall. alternatively, I guess I could try getting up earlier but I am usually just getting ready, running for the door, and eating breakfast (no time for extras in the morning right now).

My second question is I saw where I can choose the girl or guy trainer. I ended up with Warren because I did not like the girls high pitched voice. Maybe I am just being grumpy but after a while I found him annoying too. Before I bought the game when it said you had someone with you throughout the walk/run, I thought you could design another little character to walk along side. Is there a way to turn off the trainer sound while still keeping the game sound. I like the water sound and the beach sounds.

Thanks

Summer
