I too do not like the My fitness coach.
I do lOVE The active instead. I can't even take a drink until my set is done, cause it knows when I am not doing the move.
I don't have the gold's gym. So I can't comment on that one.

Game stop will accept your trade ins, not for as much as you paid, but they will take them for credit for a new game. I traded in my Jillian Michaels, as that was a big disapointment to me. In my opinion, I really enjoy the Active over MFC, but thats just a personal preference. I do feel quilty sometimes and get on Wii Fit, and it asks where I have been!

I wish I could go to gamestop and trade in both GG and MFC (because if active does both why have them plus it'll help pay for the game) and if I don't like it I can refund everything and they'll give me my games back. Now only if this was a reality I would totally do that!

I got my personal trainer and gold's gym cardio workout for Mother's day. I thought about the more expensive Sports Active, but i thought since I have Wii fit, now I have three different types of workout so I won't be bored. I like the Wii cardio because of the boxing moves. It is a real stress reliever and you do work up a sweat. You earn more intensive workouts as you go along, and so far I have enjoyed it. I really felt good with the Wii fit and my core muscles have never felt stronger. However, I realized I was missing out on the cardio with My Personal Trainer. I had to find a day in which I could do the fitness assessment which was this morning. I totally failed in the cardio section. I proved myself worthy with the abs. (i have them, but you can't see them under all of the adominable fat). I then did the weight loss cardio. I never sweated so much. I realized that all of the other workouts, I could do in my pajamas, but not My Personal Trainer. I think I will finally see weight loss now.

I have MFC, but still learned more about EA Active here--it's always cool to see it discussed from different angles.

so, all of those are listed? That's pretty cool.

I asked about higher impact since you mentioned 30 day shred (day one of it killed my knee and left it really weak even after it healed up). I'd probably be closer to the "total beginner" you talked about, just because I haven't built up enough consistency to be a bit more fit when it comes to exercise.

There is some higher impact...running, butt kicks, side to side jumps. Thats just what I am across in the 3 session I completed so far, there may be more than I just havent seen yet. But its definitely higher impact than the MFC. Ive blogged on my sparkpage the 3 sessions I have done so far with a list, in order, of the exercises if you want to see an example. I think of it as similar to Jillian Michaels 30 day shred with the circuit training.

That being said, if a particular activity just isnt going to work for you, before the workout starts you can un-check those activities and the workout will skip them.

how much impact does EA Active have (as in, jumping type motions)?

Hard to say. If you are into more circuit training where you are going high rep and little to no weight with a lot of movement, then the EA Sports Active may be better. I see it as being more difficult to add real weights to due to needing to hold onto the remotes...although there is always the option of getting more difficult exercise bands to use. And even the easy level may be difficult for total beginners. I am obese but I have been working out including lifting heavy (for me) for close to a year now, and the easy level is quite a challenge for me...but on the other other other hand, the EA Sports Active gives you the option of removing specific exercises (at the start of the workout you are given a list of what you will do, if you click on a specific exercise you can uncheck it) so if something in particular is just too much for you , you can remove it. The MFC does not have that option, which I have wished for since my dogs do not allow me to do anything that puts me on the floor or vaguely resembles a puppy play bow.

The Wii Fitness Coach may be more adaptable for all levels, since you can keep asking for it to be easier (or harder) while the EA game has easy, medium, hard.. and I am finding the easy to be quite the workout right now. But while the cardio items may be harder and they really work you out with the repetitions on the EA Active, the Wii Fitness Coach would allow you, if so desired, to use heavy weights since you are not dependent on holding onto the remotes. The MFC also has yoga/pilate type movements if you are into that sort of thing.

They both have their plus and minuses. I think the MFC would be easier on total beginners since you can ask for ability adjustments mid workout and good for those who want to exercise with the weights yet lift heavier, but for a circuit type workout...like if you like the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred type workouts, you would probably like the EA Active game better.

I just bought Ea Active yesterday and it looks like a lot of fun. I've already got wiifit, and whilst it's still fun, I actually haven't used it (I got lazy, and don't have as much room to move as I used to). Haven't got my personal trainer, but from reviews I've heard that active is slightly better. Maybe you could go to a video store and rent both games to try them out?

If I'm a day ahead of you... Don't get confused. I'm just a time traveller... :D

I too have them both.

For me I personal love Ea Sports Active. I got bored with my personal trainer.

My personal trainer does give me the work out and the change of so many different things for me to do.

One step at a time!

Hi everyone! I got the Wii personal fitness coach but havent opened it yet since I just saw the new EA Sports which looks like a better workout. Can anyone share an opinion about which is best? I really can't afford to buy both of them at this point, and they look pretty similiar. Any opinions about which would be a better buy would be helpful. thanks!
