I have had numerous ankle issues over the years. I thinks that you can work through minor pain. Just LISTEN to your body and continue to ice after a workout if the pain continues. Keep up the great work!
and another idea--you could always work on some upper or core strength training (something that isn't putting pressure on that one foot--i.e. you can do standing exercises, but don't do some of the Wii Fit strength that require you to stand on one leg and move around).
That way, you're not still, but you're still not working that ankle so much.

Hi, (I'm a physical therapist) I'd suggest a lighter workout for a day, but there's absolutely no need to stay completely off that ankle. Do the lighter workout for a day and see how it is the next day. If there's no soreness: "full speed ahead!"; if more soreness/pain: more ice, another light day. My guess is, unless you're unable to walk because of the pain you don't need to worry too much about it. If it gets worse each day, it's something to check out, otherwise, just be nice to it but don't completely baby it. :-) That's my 2-cents, free of charge!

It's absolutely nothing but minor pain. If I wasn't looking for it, I couldn't even perceive it, I don't think. He tells me to rest through everything including minor muscle soreness from workouts and I've always found that pushing through minor aches has been more beneficial.

For me - a non medical expert - dont even play one on tv - I tend to work through minor ouchies as pain allows. If I cant not turn my right arm - I will do everything but that move. I try to listen to my body and if it hurts beyond minor pain - I stop. But that is my unofficial, nonmedical, did not stay at the Holiday Inn - 2 cents

I seem to have very lightly twisted my ankle yesterday when doing tree pose on my Wii Fit. It was a little bit sore yesterday and I iced it. This morning it isn't sore at all unless I step on it in a certain way and even then it's only barely perceivable soreness. My husband thinks I should keep off of it all day but I don't want to just sit around.
I feel like I'm fine to exercise and to just push through whatever minor soreness is there but my husband's worried that I'm just getting addicted to exercise and that I'm overdoing it. Has anyone else had something like this? What did/would you do?
