LOL Thanks for posting that update. Wow, if only it were to burn up 2000 calories in an hour... at that rate I could reach my next goal in an exercise-packed week. It's never quite that easy, is it?

Ok, I have to take back what I said about the game's calorie counter being accurate. It's relatively accurate for short durations, but it WAY overestimates calorie burn for longer durations. Just wanted to warn y'all.
The last two times I used this game, I did the Weight Loss option at medium intensity for 60 minutes. According to my heart rate monitor, I burned around 700-750 calories each time, which seems reasonable given the amount of effort I put into it. According to the game, I burned a whopping 1900-2000 calories in an hour, which I'm pretty sure is physically impossible.

Your wii board takes 4 double A batteries, if you flip your balance board over you will see where the batteries go.

I got Jillian Michaels Fitness ultimatum for Christmas... I liked it for the fact that other than wii fit I could set it for a specific time and it would rotate through different activities. Well, after 4 or 5 times playing it I decided to try to return it for being defective. I can repeat my movement exactly how it wants/shows me to and my person just will not move. I don't find this very helpful in my workout, and I don't feel like I am getting a workout from anything other than the jogging section. I bought My Fitness Coach in place of it last night and so far I think I am really going to enjoy it. Can't wait to get home tonight to work out with My Fitness Coach tonight!

Its ok...when I bought it I guess I was expecting more. I like the walking on it alot, perfect for indoor walking for winter. I don't get the launching of grenades game, I don't know what to do on it. I was wondering how the fitness coach is. I am looking at getting that one next. I don't like to do one thing over and over again because I tend to get bored so I need some variety and spice. That will keep me going. I LOVE that the wii fit weighs me in and measures my bmi regularly, that is awesome! Just one more question before I post, my balance board says that its low on battery. What kind of battery? Is it a special wii board one or AA type batteries?

I've had it for a few months now, and can't say I love it, but I don't hate it quite as much as I did in the beginning. Yes, the instructions for each activity are bad, the character's actions are barely synched with your own, and the game expects really specific types of movements that take a while to figure out (because of the crappy instructions). Also, Jillian herself obviously had nothing to do with the game's development beyond licensing her name and showing up in a studio for an hour to record some voice work.
That being said, according to my HRM, playing 30 minutes of this game at medium intensity burns more calories than any other fitness game in my arsenal, including DDR. And I do honestly enjoy the boxing activity where you have to kick in addition to punching - makes me giggle each time. So I keep it in rotation, using it on days when I'm already psyched to exercise and don't need any additional fun factor to motivate me. (For the fun factor, I use DDR.)
For tracking, the game's calorie counter (when using 2 wiimotes and the balance board) seems to be relatively accurate - usually within 50 cals of what my HRM tells me. I log the whole session as a custom cardio activity rather than breaking it down based on the individual activities.

I got it for Christmas. I cannot wait to really get into it because goodness, I was bored to tears with just the Wii Fit. I have had the Wii Fit for 6 months and nothin changes, nothing new *yawn*
Yes its been a bear figuring out what the game wants me to do but when I get it going, trial and error worked, I worked up a real sweat and got my heart rate really going in 5 mins.
Mostly I like the DIFFERENCE of it. I like the music. I like the fitness tips. Frankly, after 2 days I guess Im saying I like it.
Now figuring out how to put the work outs into Spark will be interestng . .log walk?? canoeing??

When I had it I felt that without the balance board I found it easier to do most of the games but I think its less accurate when it comes to counting calories

Well along with my husband buying me the wii fit he also picked up this video game. I am really torn after reading the reviews, I might just take it back and get something else.

I love it for weight loss because it makes me do things that I avoid on my wii fit ie the running games. I know it can get frustrating (and trust me I have CRIED because I was so frustrated) but I feel I burn more calories on it than the wii fit. I use my wii fit for strength training so I do both. I do JM every other day and on the off days wii fit with Fridays off since I go out with friends. I do an hour on JM because I burn the most and now I'm on medium difficulty. I know it got bad reviews but its just and exercise game so its not supposed to be flashy its just to get you off your butt and move. Thats how I look at it. I feel its harder than the wii fit as in getting tips when I did the wii fit I unlocked everything like crazy now its kinda boring. But with JM I've only unlocked like half dozen tips.

@Angel_56. Its a fun game but I don't like the jumping element that seems to be a part of each of the activities. You might consider DDR.

I have to agree, it was not worth the money. it seems like some game company just kind of threw money at her (Jillian) and said "hey record your voice for this please." Some of the activities are dumb (cannon thing and paint bomb tossing) It is really really ridiculously hard to get it to recognize that you are moving and thus very frustrating. It is a good workout if you just want a quick 10 minute thing but any more than that gets boring real fast. I like the rowing and the running but the trail gets boring and it seems like there are only 2 speeds for all of the activities: going, and stopped completely. I think it would also be better if there were some sort of actual competition component of the multi player mode.

I enjoy the Wii Fit much more also, but I was really looking for some variety. This gives me that, but unfortunately it is not fun. Dang I wish I'd saved my money for a Dancing game instead!

I had preordered it from amazon and was very excited. You can get a good work out from it. It is difficult to get the character to do what you are doing. I don't think this game was worth the money though. I still go back to my wii fit game and enjoy that more.

I feel like I am burning less calories when I use the wii fit board but other than that I'm loving it. It feels like a workout and since I adore Jillian Michaels then seeing her give tips and hearing her chide me is really great.

darquilter- i figured out as far as the log jumping and the tire jumping.. its easier to use 2 wii remotes rather then the nut thingy.. i was having problems also then finally switched to another wii remote instead and my wii gal started jumping.. she did still have problems and i just kept doing the exercise with out her..
You guys gotta think this is the first Fast paced wii game they have i think anyway so they don't quite have it working with you exactly.. like i said in a previous post Even if you wii person doesn't move keep doing the exercise they told you to do you still get the workout!! my wii stays still on the punching and kicking also but i still do it and i got my 45 min exercise in and i was sweating!!

I got this game and I am very frustrated with it. There are several activities I cannot figure out how to do, the kick boxing being the worst, I have not made one punch or kick so far. You would think I was just standing there doing nothing! The tire jumping is also not responding well, I try really hard and can only jump one or two tires. On the other hand, the log walking is ridiculously easy, just step in place. Even if you stop you hear Jillian say "Keep it up! You are doing great!" Yah right...
Can anyone help me figure some of these out?

I got it the first day it was out but can't get my wii balance board to work with it. I got some advice from another user so I'm going to try that either tonight or tomorrow and see if I can't get it to work again. Other than that its ok - nothing to rush out and buy though - Outdoor Challenge is way better in my opinion.

I am interesting in knowing this too, my daughter heard about it and wants to get it, but I've heard of some the problems so I would like to hear others peoples responses as well, before buying!

Has anyone tried "Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009"? I find it confusing on how to get it to work. Is anyone else having this problem? Can anyone help?
