I have been discouraged this weekend, too. I'm just tired of the effort. However, I am pleased that my clothes are either looking better on me or too big for me. That hasn't happened it a while. And I appreciate the reminder to rest in God as I move ahead.

I'm feeling disheartened. I just got back from a Fitness Spa, where I worked out something like 6 hours a day and ate only their low-cal meals...and I'm still sitting at the same stupid scale plateau I've been at for months, and I don't see any measurement changes, either.

On a positive note, my arms look more "cut" and I learned a lot of new exercise techniques.

I'm dissappointed in myself. I have let my weigh creep back up to 169 1/2. I must get back to the basics, eating right, drinking water and exercising. I can and will do it, just need to let go and vent a minute.

I will do what I can with what I have for Jesus sake Today.

I need encouragement because I just found out my wife has been lying to me for the last 2 weeks telling me she's making money, when in fact we are more broke then I have ever been in my life. I am trying very hard to eat right and keep working out, but I can't get the fact that we are 3 months behind on all bills off my mind.

This has been one of those weeks where things just aren't going right at work and it has seeped into the rest of my life. I'm still eating pretty well, but not getting enough water, and I haven't turned on my Wii to exercise once. I'm hoping this weekend I'll get myself back into the swing of things.

I need encouragement today because I have a sinus infection and haven't felt like exercising for at least a week. I'm afraid I'm losing all the progress I've made. Also work is not going so well and home is not going so well. I wonder if there's a connection? I know I'm much harder to get along with when I don't exercise. It helps me deal with stress.

Hi mkprincess2007. Sometimes all of us fall off the exercise wagon. When I do, I make myself exercise and I always feel better afterward. Just do your best. Remember 10 minutes 3 times a day is all you need. If you need extra support just give the team a holler.

I was going full speed using my Wii, and now I have found tons of excuses to fill my time. I have been struggling to regain my motivation. I am on this site every day, and haven't connected with anyone yet personally, which I think might help keep me accountable to Spark and to myself. I know my fitness journey is lifelong, and I was using another forum that I had gained encouragement from friends, but the site disbanded. I love using Wii, and I need to stop making excuses for putting myself last!!

For all of you who have fallen off the wagon - remember that every minute is a new minute to make a new decision. Getting frustrated with yourself is the fastest way to stay off the wagon. It takes many, many small efforts to make a permanent change. I am still learning that - 25 lbs. down and 50 to go.... Check out this article which was really helpful for me:

I need encouragement and support today because I am still struggling to get fully committed. I do good for a week or two and then I fall right back into my old habits. I've been drinking pop again, not exercising, not drinking water, etc. Looking for a support buddy to email encouragement back and forth.

I also have fallen off the wagon recently and have been back on for only a short while. I don't look for the negative. I start each day with the encouragement of the spark friends and have decided to not look back but to start fresh. We all have slips. The trick is to not focus on them but to get back up and start where you left off.

I need encouragement/support today because I have fallen off the band wagon the last week or so and need to get back on. I have not hardly exercised and I have not been watching what I eat. I am so dissappointed/frustrated with myself. Anyone want to buddy up so we can get motivated again together, or maybe a couple of people want to start a mini-team to help encourage each other?

I need some encouragement :( I hate how I promise that I am going to do something and I don't. I said I would keep track of all food and drink my water and I have and done a little bit of exercise, but I even made up a notebook to keep track of my will fit age, lbs weekly, challenges and water and food tracking. I am keeping track, but don't like how I am not meeting all of them. Why is this...aghhh...i know I can do it and it doesn't take long, why can't i get into that groove of doing everything that I promise!!

Hi. Thanks for the encouragement.
Hubby is watching TV so I did 10 minutes of walking around my room. And 10 minutes is all I could do.
Good idea about doing a little bit of exercise throughout the day.
Thanks again.

Hi. Sorry to hear you are not feeling so well. I suggest you try to sneak in little bits of exercise throughout the day when you think of it; maybe that will be easier to get moving instead of thinking about doing an hour at once or something.

When you read this post, how about getting up away from the computer and joining me for just 10 minutes of exercise? Pick whatever you want to do -- Wii Fit, Wii Sports, treadmill, whatever -- then come back and let us know what you did. If you don't feel up to using any equipment or Wii, then just stand up and march in place. You might find that you keep going longer than 10; but even if it's just 10, that's 10 more minutes and a few more calories burnt. I'll take my own advice and go for some Wii Fit right now.

You can push through this. Good luck.

READY2LUUZ - I'm sorry about your job loss. There is so much of that going on these days. The days that are gone by, are gone...be happy that you've now decided to get back on track again. What are you doing now for your workouts? Are you joining in any of the challenges to help give you some motivation to exercise more? Challenges always get me going so it's worth a try if you are not already doing that. Take care. You can do this!

I'm so mad at myself! I was let go from my job on 2-13 due to downsizing. Since then I have waisted a month and a 1/2 by not exercising and eating right. So far I have gotten back on track this week and just need some encouragement to stay on track. I really have no excuses--I have all day to work out! I'm going to stay on track this time, I have to!

I'm sorry that you lost your dad. My dad passed away a year and a half ago at the age of 60 as a result of an accident. He had only been a part of my life for 17 years when he died. Allow yourself time to grieve, and take care of yourself.

I am trying so hard to work out every day but I find it difficult right now. My father (50) just passed away on April 1st from cancer. I was with him when he went and it made me realize what I am doing to my body. Add to the stress of losing my father I am having issues with my mom. they have been seperated for 9+ years and she feels she is being ignored but really she walked out then and we are having a hard time including her. Anyways, sorry for rambling on.

I agree with JACKIE0913 that if you're having a blah day and need something to help make you feel better that reading for pleasure may be just what the doctor ordered. But, if you are doing that every day or too often, then I'd change my answer and suggest that you try to commit to xx minutes of workout first and then reading can be your reward for meeting that workout goal.

Reading too much & playing games on computer too much are part of what got me into my (previous) bad shape and overweightness. So as much as I still enjoy both, I really try to put workouts first & save the other two for reward and relaxing afterwards. It works for me anyway. :-)

Take care & I do hope that whatever is causing your blahness is cleared up soon.

Just having a blah day. My Wii Weight line is heading the wrong direction. I've been too busy reading to focus on my workouts - I really need to pull it together.

Just keep swimming! -Dori

Oh, Jackie, I am so sorry to hear that. Our pets are such a part of our daily lives and I understand how much you will miss her. Push through your day at work somehow, and take care.

The cat that I've talked about in the previous entries is no longer with us and the hardest thing will be doing crunches without her sitting on my chest. That and I have to work today because I can't take sick days unless I don't want to be paid.

I think you can go on the Wii Fit and skip the weighing part if you go on as a guest, that way you can enjoy it and before you know it you will be able to do everything.

LESAANNHANDSHOE - Sorry that I didn't see your post until today. Hang in there... If you follow the SP fitness and nutrition plan, you will be down to Wii Fit weight in no time. I do love Wii Fit & understand you wanting to use it; but there are other ways to get in some good (and fun) workouts. Keep at some of the other options for a while and you'll be joining us on Wii Fit before you know it. Good luck!

JACKIE0913 - I find it shocking that there are people around who have that attitude. And additionally surprising that they let anyone know that they are so shallow. Surely, that should be enough to show you that you would not want such a person to be your friend anyway. Who needs that kind of crapola? Don't you think something is wrong in that person's life that has caused such an un-caring attitute? Pity them, don't let them hurt you. Do not let this bozo waste another moment of your thoughts.

It's easy to say that you should not let this upset you -- and of course you should not -- but, I know it can be very difficult to shrug off things like this for many of us. I don't know how to teach you to not let it bother you because I have not taught myself that trick yet either. I think some are just tougher & that self-esteem you mention has a lot to do with it. My best suggestion may be to keep up (or start) the habit of positive talking to yourself. It may sound lame; but I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement. Over time, you will believe these things more deeply about yourself (if you do not already) and that can only help build your self-esteem and make you even stronger. Now,repeat after me:

I am strong.
I am beautiful.
I am kind.
I have a lot to offer.
I am leading a healthier life.
I am working towards my goals.
I love myself.
I.... (you fill in the blanks).

Yesterday I found out someone doesn't like me not because of my personality but because of the way I look how shallow is that. Now Ryan is upset about me because it hurt me well I'm sorry but how can it not hurt. I'm ok with someone not liking me because of the way I am but because of the way I look it hurts a lot.

I just want to talk to people who understand. Ryan one doesn't really have a weight issue and two his self-esteem is much higher than mine so he just doesn't understand. emoticon

DIANECAN2 I find that parking farthest away from the stores that I am working at helps me to get extra steps in on my pedometer....I've also found myself walking around the builds during my breaks and the pedometer keeps counting steps. It feels so good...Good Luck and sticking to your routine.
