5. Additional Exercise: I read a Coach Nicole statement that walking only really counts as cardio if you do 10 min minimum & at a level that truly increases your heart rate. Therefore, I turned my usual 5 min walk for the mail into a 20 min more rigorous walk / trot.

Slept almost 9 hours
drank 9 glasses of H2Oif not more
Logged in meals and went over in calories by almost 900, I'm sure it wasn't the Hydrox cookies nor the mountain dew that caused that.LOL
Played Wii Outdoor Challenge with my oldest daughter for over 2 hours an ddid Wii Fit earlier this morning.

I will do what I can with what I have for Jesus sake Today.

okay. Kettlebells. (long post, but if you want more info, I can do that too...lol.)

First they come in all sizes, even as small as 4-5 lbs. HOWEVER, that is TOO light for a kettlebell. There's some infomercials out there that use them that light, but they use them more like dumbbells, not true kettlebells (in other words, those videos are crap). Most people should start with 15-20 lbs. kettlbells--for those that are truly HORRIBLY out of shape, MAYBE 10 lbs. But even for me, 10 lbs. are too light. While it's hard for my arms to handle the 15 lbs. kettlebell I have, I have to have it at LEAST that heavy for it to properly load my legs.

That's the "secret" of kettlebells--they use the WHOLE body. And that's why they have to be at least somewhat on the "heavy" side. Now, squats is probably something that most of you are somewhat familiar with. Squats used a LOT of muscles and works most of your legs and even some in the lower core. Like squats, kettlebells (and the movements done with them) are designed to work the whole body. It's to give practical motion training--as in, use the muscles the way that you would naturally do everyday instead of isolating the muscles into different motions that may or may not help in everyday tasks.

Since the legs and the core help the arms out, the arms are not doing all the work, but actually have equal to less use (force on muscles) compared to the legs and core.

Watching videos of them doing the basic two-armed swing actually taught me how to properly do squats. Before that squats always hurt my knees and I just couldn't do them. Since learning the proper form of squats, I've been able to work to do 10 a night (while brushing teeth, lol) and strengthen my knee up from where I hurt it when I tried out Jullian Michael's 30 day shred (the first level has a LOT of jumping in it and my knee was weakened by it and wouldn't strengthen back up).

this is just how today is going

water is going well today, even got a new bottle to drink it out of
had pizza for breakfast
LUNCH: baked potato with brocolli, cauliflower, ham, sprinkled with cheese
Now I must get to work on my exercises, going to see if hubby or one of my kids want to play Outdoor Adventure for the Wii. I'll check in later and update how it is going.

5. Additional Exercise: Sit/stands = 34 (I'd already done my wii before this challenge was posted.) Struggling with squats so used the bed, with my arms folded, to sit then stand up over and over again, managed 34, ouch!

I'm glad you find Mommy_T's page to be inspirational!!!

lol..not that I'm discounting that--I am happy with how far I've gotten, but that's also what helped me get into being lazy about it (as well as life just being busy in general). And the laziness has led me to not lose anything since end of Sept.

But it's time to get back to work!

This is a hard one for me as I usually sleep less. We got in last night at 2 after bringing my son home to New Jersey. Up early for church.

NOTE: I haven't been tracking OR exercising lately (unless you count me trying to do 10 squats a day (during teeth brushing/getting ready for bed))....so ANYTHING is "bonus" right now.

3) still working on the water, hope to reach my goal tonight, if I don't it will because I drank 3 mountain dews
4) scrambled egg w/ spinach, onion, mushroom, sprinkle of shredded cheese- PButter sandwich, cheez-its, cheese stick- Hot dog w/chilli, macaroni & cheese emoticon
5) Taught Children's church today and we did some fun and active games, Wii Fit 30 minutes, yoga, aerobics and balance games, also played baseball on Wii Sports, won the game 3-0
