It is official, Lollifer has spoken (posted) and the mighty crew of Neptune's Curse has won the Pirate Challenge!

Thank you to our wonderful Captain Ruthless Camilla Brilliant and the rest of me trusty crew - we sailed (exercised) hard, fought (battled) hard, and caroused with our bretheren pirates (pillaged) upon the high seas!

This has been a great experience that has totally gotten me *Sparked*!!!!

Thanks to all of you for being such an awesome team to work with.

Being in a game that has to do with something active and athletic is just such an amazing accomplishment for me. I usually just get discouraged since I'm not that athletic. This challenge made me want to try harder, and try new things. I'd play games I hadn't spent much time on, since I wanted to be ready if we got challenged. My scores on some games have just skyrocketed. I feel like I can accomplish more than I thought I could.

Motivation is always hard for me, I start out keen and then start to slip when it comes to exercise. Being in the challenge made sure I not only kept on track, but did more than I normally would have. I'd say one more try, which would turn into two more, then three, and so on. My boyfriend has noticed how my energy has improved and my attitude about physical activities is better.

After this I'm now planning on joining a team for the Run for the Cure, where I'll do a 5k walk in support of Breast Cancer research. Not quite at a 5k run yet, but maybe one day!

I'm going through a frustrating time with my weight loss, but I'm noticing changes in my body even when the scale won't move. I'm feeling firmer and more toned. Clothes are fitting better now. I feel like if I stick with it I will see the results I want. I'm waiting until my 2 month Wiiversary to do some measurements and see what's happened since I started on my Fit.

What has this challenge done for me?

++ Given me motivation to exercise every day!
++ Given me inspiration to get up EARLY to exercise before work, and to walk to work when it's nice.
++ Given me an excuse to really use the Wii for exercise, otherwise I would have been content to sit on the couch and watch tv!

What changes have I done?
++ Tracking my nutrition better.
++ Realizing that I have to increase my calories, or do a calorie cycling program, as with the increase in exercise I was putting myself in starvation mode.
++ Doing a better job of making good nutritious choices.
++ I walk around more to work, stores, library rather than taking the car.

Visable changes:
++ Lost 3.2 pounds during the challenge, and ended a mini plateau I was having!
++ My clothes that were tight are LOOSE! I took off fitted capris last night without undoing the button or unzipping! I guess I'm going to have to look for a belt!
++ I wore a size 8 suit to work and had the buttons closed all day!
++ When I worked out previously if I felt a little achy I would give up. This time I just worked around it because I didn't want to give up my exercise time!

We should definately keep up with the challenges here, and there is another team that has Wii High Scores - JANTWO is a part of also!

Gah! It's all over...

Well done to all of you. You are all truely inspiration, and GREAT shipmates. :)

I had an extra 2 hours that I didn't log last night before I went to bed, but I didn't realise it would be all over so quickly. Sorry. :( We could have won the time race, too.

But WOW! Look at all the hours we have! That's enough to make anyone feel fit and healthy. Has anyone noticed any improvements in their health and body shape? I've been walking to and from work, further, and doing as much as I can fit in and I've noticed less gut and more hip bones, as well as the fact that my new 'skinny' jeans are getting baggy again, and my belt it too loose even on it's tightest belt loop.

What's say we start celebrations on this ship now, and then in the morning, once we've worked off our hangovers, we start a challenge series within our group of pirates? Post a score on a wii sports/wii fit game, and everyone else has to try to beat it? It was the challenges that made me want to work the most.

If I'm a day ahead of you... Don't get confused. I'm just a time traveller... :D

Not sure how I did it, but I just got a 390 on the ski jump.

I was going about it all wrong until tonight - I was going up on my toes to jump, found that when I kept my feet on the board and just leaned forward and was very still, I was abe to jump much further!

Well I posted my points and my excercise for the day. I added another 2 hrs and 15 minutes so we should be at the next port.(?) I started a Zumba class tonight that kicked my butt. I'm glad that I did my walking and strength before. Would have been useless afterwards.

Well... we have the most money, but I guess we need to step up the exercise. Either that of figure out a way to get more treasure!

okay not sure what i am doing wrong here - but i can't get my steps over 2000....and i can't get the pace to go any faster...i feel like such a loser. you guys are doing so awesome at every thing. i read the thread and i see that most of you aren't sticking to the beeps of the remote. i will have to turn of the sound and see if that helps. i did manage to lock in another 40 min for us. i have to head in early tonight. nighty nite me shipmates.

We put a board underneath the board and it seemed to register more of the steps I did. Still did not register them all, but I got a high of 2,793. I hope it be high enough to beat the pillagers!

And word on our pillages? I want me some gold!emoticon

I agree MJ - the pace that the wiifit sets is a bit too slow for me, even on the fastest setting. I understand that they do it so that people don't hurt themselves, but I barely break a sweat, and since the board is so low on the ground, even when I take long strides back and forth and wave my arms around like a twit, I can't really get my heart rate above 110 if I follow the beeps, and I like walking with a HR at around 135-145, or even more when I walk up hills... LOOOVEEEEE that higher rate and burning more calories :D

If I'm a day ahead of you... Don't get confused. I'm just a time traveller... :D

Way to go with that score - I won't have time to try it until this afternoon, but I feel better knowing you got a great score.

I've had mine on both carpet and on my wood floor - the foot extenders on both, and haven't really noticed a difference.

One thing I usually do for free step is turn the sound from the Wii off and put my iPod on and step to some tunes - this usually keeps me at a good pace that registers all the steps. My kids also like that I can put something else on tv while I'm doing it to! I find the pace that the Wii sets is way too slow!

I did my 2 bouts of Free Stepping this morning for 2,637 and 2,399. I'll post in the Yo Ho! Thread.

Is it better to be on carpet or not? It's annoying that it doesn't always register the steps!

I tried too and my husband watched as I stepped faster than I ever had before and he noticed that some of my steps were not registering. emoticon

If you jog on and off, it won't register because more than likely, your bodyweight/balance will still be biased towards your back leg when you step on for the first time. If that first step doesn't register the other 3 won't either.

You don't have to go with the count, but when you speed up, try and put your head and chest into each step - move your center of gravity to over the board instead of behind the board. Hope that makes sense and hoe it helps. :)

To get a score of 2000, you need to do 100 steps in 60 seconds.
To get a score of 2200, you need to do 110 steps in 60 seconds.
To get a score of 2400, you need to do 120 steps in 60 seconds.
To get a score of 2600, you need to do 130 steps in 60 seconds.
To get a score of 2800, you need to do 140 steps in 60 seconds.
To get a score of 3000, you need to do 150 steps in 60 seconds.

I have trouble with it not registering when I go too fast. I usually set it to the fastest pace as soon as possible and then test and see how fast I can go and still have it register. If it stops registering I go back to the pace it is setting for a bit to make sure it starts up again.

I wish it were more exact. At least even attempts with lesser scores mean that we bank 20 minutes a pop!

Okay... I got a really bad score and I was working my butt off. I don't think my steps were registering. I will have to be a little more precise.
