I don't do the same thing every time..

I love advanced step, I think they need to make more levels of it! Working to hit perfect everytime!

Strength - I challange myself with the plank pose, unlocked the one to challange the trainer, man do I feel that afterwards!

boxing - another fave! usually do advanced

balance games - play them at random until I get highest score

Ski Jump - trying to break 300

And I just love having friends/family over ALWAYS is a fun time!

So excited today I took the Wii fit body test and got age 20!!! Real age is 24 Woo Hoo!!! Lot better than 36 when I took it the first time!

Lately I've mostly been doing the advanced step 12 times. I tried the yoga but I'm not very good at that yet. Guess I'll have to keep at it.

I love the Wii as well, I have been kind of stuck on the free steps, mostly to get a timely workout.
I am really excited about the up coming challenge to do different games every day.

Sunday I went back to hula hoop, boxing , the advanced step then the free step, I forgot I did this to make exercise fun.
did my fitness coach last night, but will do more tonight. Need to get back into doing the yoga, feel so much better if I end with that.

I'm new but basically for the last month i've been doing

5 min advance step to warm up
6-10 min rhythm boxing
3-10 advance hula hooping
30 jack knives
30 sec plank (new in last two weeks and still having to work at it)
yoga-bridge, sun salution or side stretching and breathing

I typically do this before work at 6am and depending when i get out of bed i log anywhere from 25-40 mins. I like to end with yoga cause i work with toddlers all day (write now 4 ten hour days)

i take off thursday & friday typically or only get 10-20min in the evening on those days

I've had my Wii Fit since May 2008 I vary my workout but I try to get in 30 minutes using the aerobics, strenght, yoga and balance. I want to challenge myself to do the leg/arm extension on the and the jackknife exercises which will force me to do some floor exercise. I got a pilates mat for a gift so I will have more cushion for my knees

The Wii "yelled" at me today -- been way too long since I had been on. Only had a short time to "play" this morning.

Advance step 2 times
Jacknife challenge - 30
Plank Challenge (1st time) 20 sec
Rowing - 30
chair pose -- don't remember score but not my high of 80

Thanks group for helping me get up this morning and get on that wii!!

I've had my Wii Fit about two months, and just now I'm pushing myself to do more of the aerobic exercises (both more minutes and higher levels) because I need to burn more calories. By the way, the Wii Fit has been such a help with strengthening my ankles and legs in a balanced way -- I've had a bum ankle so I've been literally imbalanced :) for decades. The strength exercises and the one-leg exercises challenge me, but I'm gradually trying them.

For the last week or so I've settled into something like this routine:

Advanced step x1 or x2 -- a warmup.
Advanced rhythm boxing -- cardio!
Advanced ski slalom, x2 to x4.
Ski jump, 3-4 sets.
Something else, might be balance (Penguin Slide or Table Tilt,) or some strength exercises, or yoga poses I'm still learning, before I get too tired.
More advanced step or advanced rhythm boxing.
Maybe a balance game or Warrior Pose.
Sun Salutation x1 or x2, always, always, at the end.
Sometimes Deep Breathing or Lotus Pose.

This is maybe 40 or 45 Wii Fit minutes.

If I split this into two shorter sessions, I feel good with a good chunk of cardio (step and/or boxing) in each session and a Sun Salutation at the end of each session.

blessings,
Barbara

Thank you Hemday!

I've been playing and have unlocked the advanced steps and several yoga poses and even a couple of new simple games. I'm having lots of fun, but that free stepping sounds like the perfect thing for me.... can't wait to get to it!

Thanks for the tips. And great luck to you on reaching your goals!

Well you have the basic steps, and when you play a while on the WII you can unlock advanced steps which is a more complicated version of the basic steps, and later you will unlock free steps.
Free steps is just stepping on and off the board on rythm, the WII speaks through the controller. You can choose 10 minutes (800 steps), 20 or 30 minutes. The WII will keep rythming your pace and talking through the controller even if you change the TV channel to look another program.

Hello - I'm new to Wii Fit and new to this group. Can someone tell me what Free Stepping is - and how do you do it while watching TV? Silly question, I'll bet, but sounds intriguing. I love TV - and love my Wii (not too crazy about exercise, though) - any way to combine TV & Wii while actually burning calories, seems almost heavenly! emoticon

Also - I am borrowing a friend's Wii Fit to decide if I should invest in one of my own... anyone want to give me some great ideas for how to get started?

Thanks!

I haven't even had my Wii a week yet so I am still trying things out. But I do the 30 min aerobic workout with the My Personal Coach. Then I switch to my Wii Fit and do Free Step for 20 minutes. Then whatever I feel like for the last 10 minutes.
I need to try the yoga and the strength exercises on the Fit but I haven't yet...

Wii Free Run - 30 mins 4 miles

Free Step - 30 mins + 10 mins
I do steps that I remember from my old Step Aerobics workouts.

- I am trying something where I alternate weeks with the running and stepping. So this week I do stepping and next week back to running.

Yoga - 15 mins

Balance Games - 15 minutes

I do Wii Fit 30 minutes run and also play Outdoor Challenge do an exercise training and a game or two depends if kids play with me or not.

I like the Wii Fit balance games the best, and play them all the time.

This one is lame, but I recently turned the Wii on because it's simply too darn cold to use the elliptical in the garage! So, as I couldn't find the Wii Sports disc, I threw in Dance Dance Revolution. Wow. Instant cardio.

The next day, and this is sooooo lame, I threw in my daughter's Hanna Montana disc, and did the hand motions while doing some lungy things from side to side....instant cardio!

Scary thing is, the Hannah Montana music was better than DDR!

Do, or do not.
There is no try.

I haven't been consistent with my Wii Fit workouts, but now that I'm trying to get more into a routine, I find that I do mostly the aerobics and yoga exercises. I'm pretty big on the step games and I just discovered how fun rhythm boxing can be. I think the core of my workouts will be the Free Step just to get myself moving, but I'm also going to explore Wii Sports again.

I'm still new to the WII Fit. I enjoy working out on it, but there is a lot of the excesses I can't do because I can't get down on the floor. If I keep working at it and losing weight I just might make it. I start out with 3 different Yoga poses. Then 3 of the Strength Exercises. Two sets of the short distance runs. Hula Hoop and Steps. Last I do 8 sets of the balance games. I am down to 30 Min's. to complete these and will add more as it takes me less time.

I am somewhat new to my wii fit routine but here is what I have been doing.

1. Yoga Poses(warrior, sun salutation, palm tree, side stretching and standing knee)
2. Strength Exercises(lunges, torso twists, single leg extensions)
3. Aerobics(hula hoop, step, super hula hoop, and basic run)

Then I finish with Yoga Deep Breathing.

All on beginner, as I said, I am new to my wii fit routine.

You only HAVE to change it up when it's no longer working for you. If it's too easy, or you're not losing much weight (as much as your goal/week is), then try switching it up. It's SP's advice that says that you should switch up your workout every 6 weeks.

I don't have a set routine really. I always do...

#1- All 15 yoga poses, takes 30 minutes.
#2- Free run, 30 minutes.

Depending on what other workouts I have done that day and how I am feeling I will do one of the following...

-Boxing: the 10 minute (expert?) level x3
-Strength Training: 30 minutes
-Basic Step: Beginner level x5 (15 minutes)

On a very rare occasion I might try a balance game, but I'm not crazy about them.

I don't really have a set routine for everything but here are the things that I ALWAYS do when I am playing my Wii.

1)Hula Hoop for 10 min
2)Free step for 30 min (so I can watch a tv show!)
3)Some Yoga poses (I really like the Sun Salutation and the Warrior poses)
4)Some strenght training

It takes about an hour and I like to switch up 3 and 4 so I don't get bored with it!

Floreeste's Workout #1 (overall level of difficult – low to medium)

1.Go through all my opened yoga poses. This takes me about 20 minutes.
2. Basic Step (twice)
3. Basic Run (just opened this). I do this twice.
4. Boxing (beginner level). I do this two to three times.
5. Hula Hoop (basic). I do this one to two times.
6. Ski jump (beginner) 2-3 times
7. Soccer heading (beginner) 2-3 times
8. Soccer Heading (advanced) 2-3 times
9. Slalom (beginner) 2-3 times
10.Lotus focus 2-3 times depending on how well I do.

This workout takes me about 30-40 minutes depending on how many times I do the aerobic and balance games. I usually always end with lotus focus as it helps me with my balance but lowers my heart rate.
----------------------------------------
-
Floreeste's Workout #2 (overall level of difficult – low to medium)

1. Start with Basic Step (twice)
2. Free Step (10 minutes)
3. Boxing Beginner (2-5 times)
4. Soccer Heading beginner (2 times)
5. Soccer Heading advanced (3-4 times)
6. Ski Jump beginner (2-3 times)
7. Ski Slalom beginner (2-3 times)
8. Hula Hoop regular (2-3 times)
9. yoga Poses (about 10 minutes) usually the ones that stretch my hips since I have problems with mine.
10. Strength Training (5-10 minutes)
11. Lotus Focus

This workout also takes about 30-40 minutes depending on how many times I go through each game. This workout is more fun for me because I’m starting with the games instead of the yoga poses. I’ve also found that this is the workout I’ve been doing more often.

Post your workouts here...suggested format:

Name of workout

Exercise 1 in workout (specify difficulty)
Exercise 2 in workout
Exercise 3 in workout

Difficulty: beginner, advanced, expert (of overall workout)

How hard easy for workout creator and any notes to make it better. (like speeding through the score cards in Wii Sport Bowling)
