I watched The Final Destination (3D)last night. I pray this is the last installment of this franchise. It follows the basic premise teenager boy has premonition of a horrible accident at the Nash Car race they are at. He freaks out and they all leave just in time before a horrific accident. Of course when the first "survivor" dies in a weird accident this kid figures out EVERYTHING in two seconds. From that point on he would have visions of how the next person was going to die (horrible computer generated images).

I would like to think they made this movie not taking itself too seriously. There are several over the top funny scenes and the CG gore looks down right cartoonie. I did have to chuckle when one of the survivors decided to take matters into his own hand and unsuccessfully tried to kill himself three times. He ends up sitting down on the coach with the broken noose still around his neck.

I really liked the first two Final Destinations but didn't care for this one.

God bless the freaks...

Lucky McKee did a great job on May. He wrote and directed it and was the music supervisor for it.

I also liked The Woods. About a all girls school that has mysterious disappearances, and a shady witch convent past.

A.L.P., I'm glad you liked "Death Comes to Town". I can't get the Grim Reapers costume or lack there of out of my head. I also love the constant fighting between the weather girl and the anchor woman.

Eek, I watched MAY a while back. It's very well done! I love Angela Bettis. She's a very talented actress. Check out Toolbox Murders if you get the chance!

Going to add both to netflix again.

Has anyone seen MAY? It's a creepy movie, and it's awesome. The soundtrack is beautiful, too. I have seen it four times since I bought it a month and a half ago!. It's about an eccentric girl with a passion for sewing and dolls. I won't say more, because it will spoil things, but I highly recommend it!

I am a huge Halloween fan. I must say I like Rob Zombie although I think House of 1000 Corpses was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I absolutely love Devil's Rejects maybe topping the list of my favorite movies (Classics not withstanding). While I actually like what he did with the first Halloween Remake I think the second one was horrible. Added aspects of typical serial killer BS that Michael Myers was always missing and I like the certain level of mystery as to why he really went over the edge. So far Rob is 2/2 with me 2 bad movies and 2 good or great movies.

Kids in the Hall has a new miniseries it's called "Death comes to Town". I caught the 2nd episode last night. It's about the Grim Reaper coming to a small town and stirring up holy hell. The Grim Reaper wears a leather speedo/thong, cape, and cowboy boots and rides around town on a pimped out bike. It has the whole cast in it, each playing several different roles.

It's pretty funny and bloody. Check it out if you get the chance.

Watched House of Bones last night. It's either a Chillier or Syfi movie, don't remember which. It could of had such potential but it fizzled out for me.
A team of TV ghost hunters the "Sinister Sites" investigates a supposed haunted house and guess what it really was haunted! Way too much CGI for my liking and the ending left me say.."really??"

Oh well make I'm getting jaded in my old age :)

Watched Seventh Moon last night. It's about a newlywed couple honeymooning in China where the husbands family is from. Their guide takes them to the "Hungry Ghost" festival where people give offerings to the ghosts so they will leave them be. On their way back to the husbands family house the guide leaves them at a out of the way village in the middle of the night. Let the games begin!

I'm going to rename this movie "Descent creatures take a vacation in China". You'll see what I mean. It's fast passed, you see the creatures right off the bat, and a few jump scare scenes.

I thought it was well done and worth a watch.

Just finished watching Carriers. It's an "infection" movie that was in the theaters last year. If you liked "28 days/weeks Later" you will like this apocalyptic movie. It's about 2 brothers, the older brother's girlfriend and another girl trying to make it to a plague-free haven in their childhood vacation spot. There's a set of "rules" they follow to try to survive the outbreak. As always Human nature rears it's ugly head and things go from bad to worse. A very dark and depressing movie.

Watching "Blood Car" now to cleanse my palete. A vegan elememtary teacher who tried to make a car that runs on wheatgrass. Of course he realizes it will run on BLOOD!!

Watched Diagnosis Death last night. A New Zeland film from Lions Gate. It was about a teacher and a high school senior that mysteriously and suddenly get terminal cancer. Both end up at a clinic that is trial testing a new cancer drug. They both start to see visions of a little ghost boy and someone being drowned in a bath tub. Is the visions from something ghostly or side effects of the cancer drug??
I like this movie it was funny, gore scene was done nicely, and had a couple twists and turns.

that's a bummer to hear!

Totally not horror, but I watched a few over the holiday break...

Miss Potter...excellent movie!
A Good Woman....I loved this! A twist in the story!
Seperate Lies....really good!
The Reader...excellent! Liked the book better, but it was really close to the novel! I loved it!

Don't waste your time on Paranormal Activity. It was such a waste of film. I see why there was so much press on it, it was to get people into the theaters right away before word of mouth got around about how bad it was.

I don't think I ever posted a review of this one so here it goes -- Dark City. Totally fantastic movie! Here is a synopsis from Netflix: Alex Proyas directs this shadowy sci-fi masterpiece about a man (Rufus Sewell) who awakens to find himself accused of murder in a strange city. Now, he must untangle his jumbled memories while eluding both the police and a woman claiming to be his wife (Jennifer Connelly). This special edition director's cut boasts 11 minutes of new footage, plus commentary from Proyas, screenwriters Lem Dobbs and David S. Goyer and film critic Roger Ebert.

This was a fantastic movie! Keifer plays a very different role but I enjoyed his performance. This was a movie that kept you guessing until the end and it doesn't disappoint! I found myself drawn into this movie trying to figure out what was going to happen up until the end. Definitely worthy of adding to the movie collection if you are a sci fi buff. It is a very dark Batman-like movie so if you can, get the Blu Ray.

I give this one 5 postcards out of 5. Very worth watching!!!

Libra, I want to see Wolf Man, too. Hubs watched Paranormal Activity and he said he had to watch something funny afterward, lol. His way of saying it was scary!!

I enjoyed Dead Silence. Up until the freaky clown, that is! I hate clowns!

I want to see Paranormal Activity so bad!!! And I can't wait to see the Wolf Man

I just watched Trick r Treat...it was a real treat! I thought the story was smart and the characters weren't ppl you love, but it was a good thrill!

I watched "Dead Silence" last night compliments of Netflix. It was very formulated in plot and I didn't really care whether the characters lived or died. It wasn't really my type of movie but if you are freaked out by clowns and ventriloquist dolls, this might be the movie for you!

Spark it up!
