just finished watching a movie on Amazon Prime I wanted to recommend.

Re-Cycle is an Asian film with subtitles listed in the Horror/Sci-fi/thriller categories

I really enjoyed this one. Great visual effects, Interesting story line. Spooky in the right places - it has one obvious plot issue, but the rest is so well done, you forgive them for the error.

So ready to see the Conjuring this week. Hubby wants to see Red 2, which I do too, but this week I am going to get my horror fix. Hopefully, it will be as scary as the previews make it!

I got to watch this anime called Spriggan. iT was odd. It was about Noah's arc really being a big machine that like created life and changed to weather. it was pretty interesting and brutal in that they were super human beings that were created by science.

Saw REC last night, finally. I put it off for so long, because I'm not into shaky cam movies. It was really good though. The last few minutes of the movie really had me on edge.

Also saw Absentia. It was okay. Started off interesting, but the ending was pretty disappointing.

Finally going to see Evil Dead on Friday. I'm glad to hear that some members of the community really enjoyed it!

It was about a waste of my time! I was so hyped for a spooky little ghost story with a movie that had alot of potential... Then it fizzled on me. I wish I could help you, but instead I'll help others by suggesting to watch something else.

Did anyone else see this movie? If so, please tell me what the heck it was about? I didn't get it.

I agree, I greatly enjoyed it. I was told AFTER I left the theater that there's a great video clip after the credits, which I did not see. Also saw a preview for a great ghost story... It's the one she mentioned below, The Conjuring.

I saw Mama in the theaters. I loved that movie. It's more ghost story than horror movie though in my opinion which is a good thing in this instance. I'm so glad the director put in actors that really fit the characters instead of purposely putting in big name actors that would have ruined it. Watch out though because you will go from one extreme to the other emotionally while watching this movie. My husband was snickering at me by the end.

I saw Sinister yesterday. Very good movie and frustrating in parts. For a PG-13 horror flick, this one delivers.

Hello everyone! Im new to the team so decided to post my review of the few horror movies i saw this last week.

Warm Bodies - romeo and julet w/ zombies..kinda..lol it was a bit boring and predictable. the funny parts were all in the trailer. def wait for red box on this one

Silent Hilll Revelation - I am a huge video game fan. This actually wasnt to bad. the graphics were amazing, the creatures were awesome replicas, and the story was decent. Just the story line was sped thru and the scares were a few but alright. A good watch for someone who doensn't really know the game franchise.

Frozen- not really a horror movie, more like a survival movie but it was extermely depressing and made you cringe and shake your head at the people trying to survive on the ski lift.

Those are the only ones i've seen this week soo far :) However is anyone else eagerly waiting for the Evil Dead remake in April!?

Watched most of Lovely Molly last night and turned it off. I was finding it way too depressing to handle on a night I was so tired. But I do plan on finishing it, as it wasn't bad. Not amazing, but it did some some truly creepy moments.

If you have any kind of abuse history that is triggered by themes of childhood abuse in movies, I would stay away from it though.

I watched The Innkeepers on Netflix last night. It is one of those rare movies where I can't decide if I liked or disliked it. I think more 'neutral' in the end, as it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't that good, either. The main problem for me was that I kept seeing what the filmmaker WANTED to do with the film, rather than what he managed to pull off. He was more ambitious than talented, I guess?

But the characters were cute, and it was surprisingly realistic in the first half of the movie. Despite some questionable acting from "Claire" in particular, you could at least like the people, something I hardly ever see in horror films. Plus, it wasn't your usual "place is haunted, everyone dies for no reason" motif.

My name is Oli, and I am a recovering fataholic.

I just saw:

Sinister--Pretty good and creepy, in my opinion. It was a little frustrating just because the characters don't always practice common sense. I found it entertaining though.

Red Lights--So good!! It's not scary, but it's eerie and super interesting. It's about a professor and her assistant that basically investigate/disprove people who claim to be psychics. It's got a great cast. I would definitely recommend it!

I want to see Silent Hills Revelation and The Collection. I have seen this first Silent Hill movie and The Collector, and I love them both! I'm just waiting for them to show up on On-Demand or on DVD.

The 1st half was engaging, but started unraveling from the middle until the end. Anyone else think the same?

By the way, she was in a lot of running scenes when it was raining; however, it wasn't in slow motion...

Watched a foreign one on the word movies on foxtel called Silent House and it was the first movie in ages I had to stop watching until the next day thinking daytime would be better and still ended up turning it off until someone else was in the house(I still had to watch it on my own, the sis does not horror) and managed to make it to the end.

I started Bodytrim on Tuesday 20th july weing 112kgs and my first goal is to loose 13kgs. Its 5 weeks following Bodytrim now and Ive lost 6.4kgs which is astonishing to me, because I am actually on track to reaching my first short tern challenge. Its almost 10 weeks since I began Bodytrim now and I went of track for 3 days in my 8th week and gained 2.5kgs but I got right back on the eating plan and lost 1.5kgs the week after so Ive lost exactly 7kgs so far. Ive broken my weightloss challenge int

I saw:

Elevator Starring Christopher Backus, Anita Briem, John Getz, et al. (2012)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=51KF3ZX76KM

that came out on DVD a couple of weeks ago. I give it 2 stars due to the ending; however, it's worth a view.

I also watched:

The Illusionist (French Animation) which was very charming:

I saw The Amazing Spider-Man in IMAX 3-D and it was AWESOME! Long, but worth every second. The 3-D wasn't as impressive as I was expecting though, so you may want to save some extra dough and catch the non-3D version. There were a couple of scenes that were cool in 3-D; but, the 3D experience in the Avengers was much better.

We caught the first showing and there were only about 20 people in an auditorium that seats 331 people. BONUS!

4 out of 4 stars.

Kelly- its a video game. I saw it on E3, and am still in the begining. Its wacky, full of cheerleaders, chainsaws, and her boyfriend's head is her side kick

Yeager-its just me and my hubby so we aren't too worried about the language, but it definetly earns its mature rating! I haven't got to play for nights, but I am so looking forward to it. Are you ready for Resident Evil 6?

I finished Lollipop Chainsaw this weekend and the story was over the top in a good way, but the language got excessive at a point or two. I couldn't play it around my nephew, that's for sure.

Someone mentioned awhile back the documentary American Grindhouse, so I gave it ago this weekend on Netflix and it really educated me quite a bit. I did not know that movie studios originally owned the theaters they played their movies in until there was a ban on it.

Plus, when they were listing the many groups of exploitive movies, I slowly remembered watching a majority of them when I was younger. There was a slew of biker films and female prison movies that I remembered watching and alot of nazi or beach movies that I remembered not enjoying. As far as blaxploitation films, I own almost all of them on dvd. I loved seeing Pam Grier and Sid Haig in all those movies, Jack Hill was one of my favorite directors in my teens (maybe it was the T&A)?

I've seen Brave and it was very good... I had high expectations from Pixar because I love pretty much all their films... and this one did not disappoint. The visuals were striking and the story is good... this is one I"ll buy when it's out on BRD.

I did not get to see Prometheus. My younger son saw it and said it was really good.

We did all (family) go see Men In Black 3 and it was really good... we love all the MIB movies.

We don't go to theaters often, and most of the time rated R movies are out because I don't let my 11 yo watch them and she is usually with us. I normally just wait for the BRD. :)

I'm pretty sure ParaNorman is one I'll see at the theater, tho. My younger daughter wants to take some friends to see it for her 12th birthday... and it opens really close to then.

I loved Prometheus and the upcoming Alien video game does look very good. If you want to see Prometheus on IMAX, better do it before Friday before The Amazing Spider-Man comes out.

I saw Madea's Witness Protection and laughed throughout the entire movie.

So on my list are Promethius and Abraham Lincoln. I've heard Promethius is genuinely scary, so I am trying to get there to see it. I just saw the preview for the possesion-that looks so darn freaky, I can't wait. The Apparition also looks interesting. Draco Malfoy has really been getting work!

Reviewes: None of these are horror

Rock of Ages: So, I won't lie, I am a child of the 80's, and loved Metal (Sebastian Bach makes a cameo, and I had his posters all over!). The begining was slow, the main to leads were "meh"-okay but not amazing. I was not really enjoying it and was ready to say it was awful until Tom Cruise showed up. Personally, I have issues with his beliefs, but he is an awesome actor. He channeled Axel Rose, had a great swagger, and looked awesome. He made it work, and therefore I would say see it for his performance. Also, Sebastian Bach makes a cameo ;)

Magic Mike: So, girls night. I am not a chick flick girl (most of my friends know that I only see movies where people die in elaborate or awful ways involving undead serial killers or ghost), but as I picked the last movie (last exorcism), I had to go along with this. It was pretty much what I thought it was-thankfully no sappy sun sets or mushy stuff. I think I wanted more from it- I over thought parts, and really wanted to know what happened or why things happened with the back ground storry, but that was obviously not the point. Everyone had a good time, it was entertaining.

Lollipop Chainsaw- Not a movie, but a video game. I have only played a little, but you are a cheerleader who has some sort of martial arts training who carries a chain saw, and has to fight a zobie hoard. Sometimes rainbows and cartoon pink hearts pop out of the zombies when you hit them just right with your chainsaw, and you have "sparkle" mode. Thus far, I am loving it, and I can't wait to get home and play.

PS guys, I have the PS3 and x-box, I am looking forward to the Alien game as well. It looks fun, and I always wanted to be a space marine!

Speaking of Aliens... At E3, they showed a game that takes place immediately after the first movie and I think it looks excellent. I just thought I would share. It's called Aliens: Colonial Marines and it's expected to be out on Feb. 12th 2013. Here's the "suspense" trailer.

Absolutely! I heard it was sort of a prequel to Alien. I noticed in the trailer that the same trailer music from Alien is used for the trailer to Prometheus. Check out the newest Prometheus trailer.

I know it's not a horror movie, but My hubby and I saw Men in Black 3 this weekend. It was of course funny, entertaining, enough action, and I would say well done! Even though it's the first installment, it doesn't feel tired or drawn out. I'd say if anyone like Men in Black 1 and/or 2, this one's worth watching!

Yes, that's it. The trailer makes it look more edge of your seat than what it really is -- it is not some typical evil kid movie like The Omen. But it is very creepy and I can't seem to get it out of my mind.

Has anyone here seen the movie "Joshua" with Sam Rockwell and Vera Farmiga? I watched it last weekend and it has been on my mind a lot. I have been trying to interpret the many subtle hints and possible deeper meanings of it, but then I wonder if I am looking for something that isn't there.

It's a documentary, that follow a tribe of Chimpanzees... It's not scary or sci-fi but there are moments of suspense. It's safe to take your kids to. It definitely tugs at the ole heart strings and the movie lasts just a little over an hour, but the images are spectacular in the way they filmed it. Highly recommended if you're into that sorta thing.

Pontypool is good! It's available on Amazon Prime, if you are a member. I LOVED the Collector. Fresh ideas, great suspense, it was terrific!

I just saw The Cabin in the Woods - I would rate it almost as good as The Collector, and for the same reasons.

I saw "John Carter" just recently and though it has terrific special effects, I found myself wondering when it would be over. There is just something lacking in the movie. I've never read the book series and I found myself a little lost but overall, I just wasn't drawn to the movie.

I just watched Pontypool for the first time last night. It's on Netflix instant. I had heard of it before, but I really didn't know what it was about at all. I loved it!!

In case you're not familiar with it, it's about an outbreak of some kind in a small town in Ontario in the middle of winter. Netflix categorized it as a zombie movie... After watching it, I wouldn't really think of it as a zombie movie, but I guess it does have some zombie film qualities.

It's tense and suspenseful. There is pretty much no action in this movie. The entire movie takes place within one building, and there is a lot of talking. Sometimes movies like that are boring to me, but I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! There's not a lot of gore either (although there are a couple of gory parts towards the end).

I really liked it, and I would definitely recommend it!

Thanks for sharing! I might just have to spring for the 3D.

I went and saw Underworld: Awakenings in 3D last Sunday and wow, 3d special effects have really gotten better. The movie plot is just another part in what appears to be a never ending story line. Most of the movie occurs 12 years after the last, and humanity has found out about Vampires and Werewolves and has gone on a "cleansing". Very action packed and full of wonderful fight scenes and transformations. My only real complaint about the movie is it is only 1 hour 25 minutes long. For what I had to pay for a 3D movie. I should at least get 1 1/2 hours of action. I recommend seeing it in the theatre because the explosion scenes (for which there are many) are AWESOME!!

Yep, he sure is! And he's a bad guy! He played his part extremely well! It was a great movie, worth the $2 to rent. If you're lucky, your local library may have a copy. My local library has a good selection: that's how I saw the new Tron movie.

I haven't seen Jumper yet. Have to check it out. Is Samuel Jackson in that, too?

You may even be able to find them used on Amazon or something.
I just watched Jumper! (Yeah, I know, I'm a little behind, sometimes I don't get around to seeing a movie I want until it's on cable.) It was awesome!!! It's full of suspense and action and bad guys. Plus, I'm totally in love with Hayden Christensen, ever since Star Wars...He's a great actor! Definitely recommend renting Jumper!
