I would try a clear nylon thread or clear beading wire. They come in so many colors now. Also take a picture of it before you repair it. Good luck with it.

Thanks for all help. I have had this in my repair box for over a year after wearing it once. I put the necklace away so I would not lose parts.

Nylon cording frays less than textiles. I use 7-strand beading wire (.45). It's flexible, strong, and comes is a variety of metals and thicknesses.

Hi Holly - I cannot clearly see the photo so it is too difficult to tell what type of beads you are using...so...

You mention that the stringing thread will be seen and it must pass through the beads three times.

If your beads are sharp, they can and will cut the thread. In this case, a wire works better, but it is also more difficult to pass through small holed beads especially if you must do so more than once.

Beading thread is very flexible and can be purchased in several colors as well as thicknesses. You can order online through either Shipwreck Beads or Fire Mtn if it is not available at a local bead/craft store.

If you want the thread to be more invisible, use Fireline clear - available at sporting good stores as well as many craft stores and Shipwreack & FireMtnGems.

I hope this helps.

I need to redo a necklace and need info on string. The last string ( don't remember)is shredding. The string will be seen through beads and has to pass through many three times. The item is flexible I would like to keep it that way Picture added.
