I think that the issue is making sure you are fueling your body properly. I don't think it is necessary to change your goals each time as long as you know you are eating enough to sustain your activity level.

Does anybody know how to deal with variable amounts of exercise? Depending on my work schedule and such, I have about weekly swings of the calories I burn each day, by 300 calories/day or more. I keep getting the message on my Fitness tracker that I need to change my goals because of over or under exercising, but it seems really annoying to have to change it every week esp since I can't predict what that week will be like all the time.
