Well I've only been on this for exactly a week now and I can't say but I do have something I have noticed.
I have committed to writing a nightly blog entry about how my day has gone. I was able to successfully say i worked out very hard six days last week. I still have a ways to go with my food intake but that is m goal to focus on this week.
I love that I get to read about people who are in the same situation I'm in and there are very inspiring people out there.
This is a great challenge for me since this is my 1 year anniversary with Spark People!
I can honestly say that Spark People has changed me in my view on life. I have come to believe that anything is possible. A year ago I joined and then signed up with this team. The first outing was a Rock Climbing outing. What, ok I can do this. I did. I am sure it wasn't pretty but I climbed! I had only run one 5k at that time and was planning on doing the LB half. Now I will be doing my 5th one at Long Beach next week and am registered to do my 1st marathon in December. I have also been rock climbing again with my son! If you told me last year that I would be doing this I would have thought you were crazy!
I think by far, the best thing that I have gotten from SP and especially the SD team, is the friends, and support system. It is all of you who helped me to do all this.
I did a blog a while back called "a year ago" That really sums it up. I was referring to a year of running in that blog but a little long for here!

I'm about 10 days into SP, but something that I know has already changed is my eating habit! I made a birthday cake for a friend on Tuesday, gave into the "it looks so good I have to have some" crap and realized (unfortunately AFTER I ate it) that I no longer liked the cake, and it used to be my favorite!
That was a big step for me. :)

Hmmm....how far have I come since I joined SP? This is a toughie. My first thoughts were so negative, (haven't done this, can't do that) so I really had to think about some positives. (Weird cuz normally I'm a very positive person)
*I have started jogging with my command 1x/wk. *I have attended Pilates classes at my gym. *I have used my fitness equipment at home for more than drying towels. (I put them on the towel bar now! LOL) *I went through ALL my clothes and got rid of anything I didn't wear, didn't fit, or didn't go with anything else in my closet. *I track ALL my food/exercise (even on "bad" days).
This weekend I'm going camping and I started worrying there wouldn't be enough fresh water there. Normally when I go camping with my friends, everyone's worried about alcohol and soda and here I am worrying about the water and juice. LOL and NOT for mixing drinks (although a mimosa in the AM and a screwdriver at night does sound yummy!)
* I reorganized my deep freezer and now have sections devoted to meat, veggies, fruits, breads, etc.

I've only been actively using the site for...two weeks now. But Violet's answer actually made me realize something HAS changed.
I'm going to be traveling to San Francisco next week. And I've already downloaded the SP app to my husband's ipod touch and I've looked for gyms near the hotel. Typically when we travel I don't worry about exercising, but my mindset is different this time. I actually WANT to exercise. I actually WANT to be mindful (San Francisco is a big time food town - I'm not going to kid myself I won't eat a lot, but I can keep it in check somewhat!).
So that's different than the last time I traveled. Bonus!

Well I guess for me, it's all the little things in life. My overall mentality on fitness and health has changed. For example, I'm going away for business the last week in October and my very first thought wasn't "yeahhhh Party!" (I'm going to Las Vegas), it was "Aw man, I'm not gonna have my gym that whole week"
I know it's little, but clearly, my priorities have changed and that's a GIANT step in the right direction! :)
The challenge this week is to write a comment on this thread and reflect back on how far you have come since starting with Sparkpeople. It doesn't have to be long or extremely detailed. Sometimes we get so caught up in our challenges that we fail to realize how far we have come. Let's reflect!!!
