Thank you all for your encouragement and support! I was frustrated when my weight halted. I was really scared to check my email, when I noticed I had one, my heart sank and I said aloud, yep! I am kicked off! I have been worried about it all day and constantly talking with my husband about it. I can't imagine what the "real" contestants on the biggest loser feel while weighing in and waiting for the results. I am over the moon excited right now! And pink is my favorite color!! Congratulations ladies!!!! I am so very proud of each of you, let's keep it going! On to P!nk team!!

RMKMGMGM04 is was so bummed out last week cause I worked so hard and didn't loose an ounce - but don't let it get to you. This week i pulled a 2 pound loss and I wouldn't have been able to do that if i had just quit like i felt like the night i did my weigh in last week. Not every week is going to be a big step, and some will even take you backwards - but you're on a journey and even baby steps bring you closer to the finish line. Keep your chin up and stick with it - don't let you get you!

Sorry been so quiet on here this week - been a busy week! Managed to come in under my calories EVERY DAY this week (including today - i have my dinner all planned out so that I wouldn't go over and could check Saturday's box). Hope everyone's week has been a good one! Virtual High-Fives!

I 100% agree with LISAK157, RMKMGMGM04 YOU ARE DOING FANTASTIC i SEE YOUR STARTING WEIGHT WAS 91kg's and you're now down to 79 wow that is awesome in itself, I have to admit I myself lose sight every now and then as I was losing 4 pounds in the first few weeks and then only a couple I was a little dissapointed I guess I wanted it to be easy and thought I should be able to lose 4 pounds every week, I am working on changing my attitude towards losing weight and thus far it is working much better, but I have learnt not to procrastinate and just do it......the motivation started by a stern doctors warning and then finding this site and joining this biggest loser challenge. Today I celebrated my loss a little more than I should of with a couple of bourbon and colas and lattes and biccies, but it's ok because tomorrow is another day and unlike my other attempts if I reward myself every now and then I don't seem to crave those BAD foods as I once did.

Glad to be on this journey with all of you emoticon

If I can get through today, tomorrow will be a breeze!

Please don't be upset with your 1/2 lb loss RMKMGMGM04, there was a blog post about this in one of the recent sparkpeople emails. Someone had gotten upset about a 1 lb loss and wanted to give up. I see you don't want to give up, but you are upset. You still lost a 1/2 lb! That is awesome! Anytime the scale moves down is a good day in my opinion! The closer you get to your goal, the slower it is in losing the weight. When I first started dropping the pounds, I was losing 2-3 a week, now I'm lucky if it's a 1/2 lb and some weeks its nothing. Remember you have to eat just the right amount of calories, if you eat too few your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto the weight. I think we lose sight of that (at least I do) when I exercise a lot.

Last week I overdid it in the exercise, didn't eat enough and actually gained weight (starvation mode). I managed to get it down to where I was before by Saturday, but that meant I didn't lose anything. I was also achy and had a bad muscle spasm. I tried to run on Sunday and my hip muscles spasmed so badly I could barely make it! I didn't do anything for almost 3 days and I felt a lot better and finally started with a short walk Wednesday night. I did a circuit weight workout on Friday. I only lost about a 1/2 lb, but I'm okay with that because the scale is moving down. Try to think positive! We are all still here in this competition and thats a good thing!

Well my emoticon orange team, I'm unsure if this was the last week of the Biggest Loser challenge but in total thus far I have lost an incredible 12.4POUNDS emoticon

Best start to any weight loss journey ever before, fingers crossed I can keep up the good work, and goodluck to everyone else as well emoticon

I think I ended up tracking 5 out of the 7 days for the challenge, it will be 6/7 if I complete today.

aGREES 100% WE CAN DO THIS.

I have slacked a little this week, not with my workouts but keeping my food diary as I started a night fill job and am just so buggered cause I'm not finishing until around 1-2 in the morning and my son wakes at 6 so surviving on 4 hours sleep a night, on the upside my new job is physically challenging which is great this week already a 2 pound loss so hopefully by Saturday a little more :-)

If I can get through today, tomorrow will be a breeze!

Thank you MOMIN09 for making this challenge possible and doing a wonderful job! Your responses are very quick too! To all my team members, I have to say, this has to be the easiest challenge for me. Thank goodness! Since I have been on weight watchers, it hasn't been a real big problem for me. I track everything I eat, and if I want to eat something unhealthy, I can, but I only eat my allowed points. The biggest challenges for me are exercising...I hope everyone has a great week and remember, we can do this!!! I was just thinking, you know all the other teams probably think "orange team" is already out, I DON'T THINK SO! Just because we have 6 people left don't mean nothing, we can be the strongest of all the teams! We just have to make sure we pull the numbers every week and we will be just fine!!!!

Are the weigh in's going to work the same way where the weight lost is averaged over the # of people loosing it to see who wins?

Sorry for being so quiet over the weekend team! completed last weeks challenge just in time and then groaned when i saw this weeks challenge come through! This one is going to be TOUGH, but that's what this is.... a CHALLENGE! MOMIN09 is doing an awesome job organizing this and I think we all owe her a big thank you.

So... stay within calories (1500 for me) for *7* whole days? Wow. I'm normally pretty good 4 out of 7 days of the week so bumping that up to 7 is going to take some serious determination... Especially thinking I'll have to miss my "cheat day"! It's obviously what I need though as what I'm currently doing is just not working lol

Good luck everyone! Lets post some of our food challenges here so we can support each other through!

My food challenge yesterday was after dinner (prawns, rice noodles and a big Asian style cabbage salad) hubby and I sat down to watch Deathly Hallows Part 1 and I had a small box of raisins for a movie munch while I had to watch Mr. Metabolism put away a bag of popcorn and red wine! So tough but I got through it, had a huge bottle of water and then forced myself to go to bed without sneaking to the fridge. Tonight is running class so that won't be so hard - I never want to eat crappy before or after excercise, but Thursday is our "date night" and I'm a bit worried about that one. Think I might make us stay in and do a calorie controlled home cooked meal instead of hitting a restaurant... We'll see

We are doing the challenge a bit different this week. Because some teams have a lot more people and it wouldn't be fair, I'm doing the average number. I will take the total and divide it by how many people are on the team. I think that this will be the fairest way to do it so that no team has the unfair advantage due to having a lot of team members.

You get a checkmark every day you stay in your calorie range. It is your daily calorie range. The team that has the highest average (to make it fair to the teams that don't have as many people) will win the 2 pound advantage.

Very upsetting that we have lost most of our team to simply not weighing in. We have got to pull together and work our hardest we can do this! Nutrition is the challenge this week! OOO wow 6 of us left! We can still do it. And that's a good question RMKMGMGM04, I really have no idea I did log extra last week I think 7 or 8 instead of the 6 required maybe we need to train extra extra extra hard and do it that way?

I was having a bit of a low hungry day today but after seeing our results, I think I might hit my elliptical trainer.

So sad to see our team down to just 6 people. Congrats to all that has made it this far! Hard work and dedication! That is actually right off of The Biggest Loser, I love that show!!! I am going to give it my ALL this week. I want to see a 2 pound loss. I do have a question though...with us being down to 6 people, how do the challenges effect us? I mean, if the other teams have 16 people and say 10 people complete the challenge, and all 6 of us complete it too, do we automatically lose that given challenge? I am very confused. I hope all of you have an amazing week. emoticon

Still early evening on friday over here where i am in Vancouver and I just finished a half hour run and am going to try to keep the momentum going with a strength this evening. Then one more strength tomorrow morning right before the deadline and I'm done!

On the weight side I think i might have actually gained a pound this week, but i think it's the extra strength training cause the inches are still coming down... but i feel bad about the weight - that's not a help to the team at all!

Will check back in tomorrow after I've done my last strength to see how everyone else did!

Just weighted in a loss of 2.4pounds, a little disappointing compared to my first 2 weeks as I lost between 4-5 pounds both weeks and worked extra hard this week :-( ...... But the disappointment only lasted a little while cause guess what?! ... I'm still losing and that's what I want emoticon

It's so cool to see how active everyone on the team has been on here - it's really motivating!

I'm doing a cardio this afternoon and a strength this evening and then another strength tomorrow morning to finish off the challenge. Kind of in a funk this last couple days so I need a bit of a kick in the butt. Wish me luck!

I did well this week! I finished the challenge and logged extra cardio time. Hoping the scale shows a loss tomorrow when I weigh in. I guess my newfound healthy lifestyle is really here to stay ( I hope), because it's been awful the last couple days. Yesterday my husband cancelled watching the kids at the very last minute so I couldn't meet a friend for dinner (I only do this a few times a year), then we had to cancel our couples weekend away because of his work, then I was going to go see Hunger Games with the girls tonight, but because he cancelled watching the kids at the last minute the night before, he told me to wait till this morning for him to check to see if he could be here, I still had to find backup childcare (because he's unpredictable) and that meant I couldn't try to go online to buy tickets until noon..............and they were sold out. All the girls in the group are going but me!. I am so depressed right now it's not funny, not just one bit of bad luck, but three in a row! I haven't had any "me" time in months now and I am burnt out!!!! The old me would have found a dozen donuts and eaten them all, but I dont seem to have that craving. Lets hope I continue to find other ways to deal... emoticon

Good job with all who is getting your cardio and strength in! I really feel like I let you guys down this week. I didn't get any of the strength in at all. I am really trying to focus on my eating habits. My husband has been on vacation all this week and he likes to eat out! I am losing weight, however I did have a slip up one day this week. You are right. The challenges are just something fun for teams to get pound advantages. You will not be eliminated for not completing the challenge. If that was the case we'd probably be down to only a handful of people left.

Ug guys, I'm really sorry I've dropped the ball this week. I got a nasty flu on Monday and am still not up to snuff enough to get in my exercise. I'm just working on regaining my appetite at this point (there's a first!). Does anyone know if I'll get kicked out of the challenge even if I still weigh in, if I haven't been able to do my cardio and ST?

I'm a great believer in luck. I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.

well, we are almost through the week, do we have our cardio and strength mostly knocked out? I have my 3 cardios out and 2 strengths and I'll add 1 more cardio and strength tomorrow. I agree with DABGURLIE, this competition has really made me kick it up a notch with the strength training, something I probably needed. Hope everybody else is where they want to be with this weeks challenge!

Did a huge strength training session yesterday woken up a little sore actually, so 2 down 1 to go last strength scheduled for Friday and only 1 more cardio scheduled for this afternoon on my elliptical trainer as well. This is definitely helping being involved in this challenge, because one minute I'll be sitting there doing nothing and it'll click in my head gotta get moving gotta do my challenges for the team.

Sounds like everyone is having a great week! I got in both cardio and strength training yesterday. My strength training for today is over with and I am getting on my Elliptical in about 10 min to get my cardio in for the day! Yay!

Doing this on my phone so hopefully it works!
Just got back from run class and we bumped it up to 8:1 for 27 mins, so including the 5 min warmup speedwalk I got my 30 min cardio!! Doing more strength tomorrow and then another run on thurs and then all I have left to do is 1 more strength and I'm done! Hope everyone had an awesome day!

I did a little running yesterday and got another cardio session with some strength training in today and boy can I feel it!!! I am sore! These challenges are designed to make you kick it up a notch. I'll have to admit, it has done just that. My weight loss had been slow leading up to this competition, but since joining this competition I've jumped up to almost 2 lbs a week!

I hope everybody on the Orange Team has gotten themselves in a groove and are working on or have done one day of strength training and a cardio session already. Hey, even if you aren't losing weight, if you complete these challenges, you'll gain muscle, so you'll lose it, even if it's slow. Lets get to it! emoticon

Good Day All!

I just got in from completing my first cardio session of the week. Decided to get up & get the kiddos loaded up for a walk. Ended up getting in 1.84 miles/35minutes. It's a little less than I had hoped for but then again- it's my first time walking the neighborhood in FOREVER! Decided to see if I can work my way up to a decently timed 5k within the next couple months.

But anywho~ I've gotta head into the kitchen to fix us some lunch. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Got in my first cardio last night running around the park with the family, which also including walk/jog to the park.

Todays cardio consisted of walking for about an hour up and down my driveway re sanding the pavers and cleaning out my garage may not sound like a workout but it was actually pretty tiring and intense. Once I had cleaned up and everyone was in bed I got onto my strength training which I have just completed and now ready for bed even though I am a bit hypo, really should do my exercises earlier on in the day lol.

2/3 Cardio
1/3 strength

Man! Talk about scraping in by the skin of my teeth!
Because we won the weigh in (no help from me one that one - sorry guys didn't loose a single ounce last week!) did we have 2 ppl eliminated or is it the team that does not win the weigh in or the challenge that has elimination?

Either way... gotta get working on the strength training and cardio! Going for a 30 min run/walk today and then hitting the gym hard tomorrow! With SIX parts to this challenge it's going to be hard to procrastinate and then try to catch up and the end of the week so time to get our game on!

Yipee! I have been kind of upset at myself for not dropping any pounds this week. It had begun to feel like I had let my team down. However, seeing that we still won the weigh-in... I do not feel AS bad.

Great job team!! I'm marking this one up as a lesson learned & sitting down to redo my workout regimen.

emoticon we won the weigh in! Great job! We still lost 8 people who didn't weigh in, likely because they didn't lose weight. I do know some people are confused about where to weigh in and thats a shame. Hopefully after week 2, everybody should know where to weigh in now.

I'm not sure what the challenge will be this week, but I know we can do it!!! emoticon

Just remember, this is all a process and doesn't happen overnight. Just take a few steps towards your goal every week and before you know it you'll be there!

Kinda bummed that I didn't even drop a pound this week but on the upside my inches are down so I guess that's from adding the extra strength training. Even if I get eliminated I'm still going to follow along with the challenges as a "silent supporter" - but we'll see what happens

Yay! It's been a good week for me this week, managed to get in the 3 X strength training and loose another 4.5 pounds feels good.
Instead of driving my son to school we walked twice 3kms there and 3kms home.

Big challenge will be tomorrow throwing my son a emoticon for his 7th birthday with all the yummy bad goodies! I have decided I will reward myself this week and have at least a cupcake but work extra hard next week, fingers crossed*

When you think about it there really are no excuses NOT to fit in 3 strength training sessions this week! I'm pretty sick so haven't done any cardio yet this week (running tonight for the first time since Sat!) but I've still been able to do my strength training! Eating has been really hard too without our kitchen (takeout/packaged food 3 meals a day does not equal weight loss!) but we've really been trying to make good choices and not eat too much. Where there's a will, there's a way! Let's keep at this!

I hope everybody is working on this weeks challenge, strength training 3X this week. Remember, you don't need equipment, you can use your own body weight. There are many videos on Sparkpeople that you can use to accomplish your goal!

Okay, heres a pep talk. We need to pull ourselves up by our boot straps and get this challenge going! We lost last weeks challenge, we lost the weigh in and therefore lost a lot of people on our team (14!!!)

We need to step it up for this coming weeks challenge (strength train 3X) and start peeling that weight off! I know we can do it, we just need to put our minds to it!

Remember that strength training doesn't have to include weights, you can use your own body weight. There are plenty of videos you can follow on this site to help you. Lets do this!!!

Thanks for the shout out KIRSTENARBONNE! It's hard getting healthy no matter what your reasons are, I think we can all agree on that. I live near Atlanta, GA and have wanted to run the Peachtree Road Race for a long time. I might not make it this year, but thats a goal going forward. I have to start somewhere though, so a 3 or 5K it is. I'm crossing my fingers for this fall and that my knee heals sufficiently for that, but I'll have to get the doctors okay first. Hopefully by then I'll be down another 10 lbs! I hope anyway :-)

Hello all! Hope each and everyone of you had a terrific week. I have lost 3 lbs this week, well on the BLC. I also weigh in every Wednesday on my page, that's what works for me, so of course the numbers from Wednesdays weigh in is different than todays. I am super EXCITED today!!! Today marked my 20 lb LOSS!!!! I also will posting my second weight loss picture. Big day for me today. emoticon

Wow what a big motivation to get fit LISAK - I had no idea the risk for type2 was that high after GD. I'm also trying to run a 5k with previous knee and ankle problems and I know how tough it can be... some days feel great like you could run the whole way and others are painful within the first few minutes. It's hard to try to stay motivated when you have so many other factors to have to "run" around. Hopefully training goes well!

Wow what a tough week to start the challenge! All three of us got a cold and on Monday my kitchen got ripped out (like totally gone... I'm washing baby bottles in the tub!!) A week of ordering/eating out for 2 meals a day has been really really tough to do. I focused on portion size and substituting healthier options to try to not let this totally derail me. Haven't peeked at the scale yet so hopefully all was not lost and I don't get eliminated first week! Next week should be easier as we will have the kitchen back by Thursday (I might even have plumbing in it tomorrow! Cross fingers!) Hope everyone had a great week - can't wait to celebrate all of our "losses" together!

This will be my second Biggest Loser challenge. I just finished one up with our local MOMS Club and won! Whoo Hoo! Anyway, a little about me, I had my little boy (just turned 1 on Feb 17), and had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy. The stats say that you have a 60% chance of getting type 2 diabetes if you've had GD, so for he sake of my own health and my kids, I've kicked my butt into getting healthy. I'm now down about 35 lbs since I started losing weight and hope to lose another 10 lbs, or maybe more! I joined this group to keep me honest and give me another goal. I'd also like to run a 5 K this fall, but I hurt my knee pretty bad last September, so it's a slow go on the running until then.

Started this week a little slow. I have been having to do mandatory overtime, so I was pooed! Got myself back on track and have been doing 40 min of cardio a day! Hope everyone else is doing great!

Goal 1- Under 210lbs by April 2014
Goal 2- Under 190lbs by June 2014

I started this week off really well, really motivated the first few days, I have now completed the 30 min cardio X 3 this week for the orange team yay!! But the last one was hard, lost 4 pounds this week which is great it came off the first two days though and then nothing, just gotta keep pushing.

How is everyone else doing?

If I can get through today, tomorrow will be a breeze!

Hi Everyone! Hope that all is going well - this week has been busy with having to work out of a different location then I normally work and having meetings there all day yesterday. Spring break is next week at least so there will be a little bit of a relief - I will actually get a lunch break on every day next week (I normally flex out my time so that I can attend my middle of the day class, which is online so I just stay at my work computer). I am trying to figure out how I am going to get my actual cardio in for the rest of the week since I dont normally count running at my son as cardio...

Hi Orange Team! So how is everyone doing so far this week? I started the week off not so great but my neighbor wanted to try zumba with me today so she got my butt in gear and I went. Always makes me feel so much better when I go. Then I can't figure out why I can't make myself exercise more often. Well here's to a great Thursday everyone.

Welcome Ladies!!!

Stopping by for a very late check in. Well, today was a typical Monday! Oiy! Everyone in the whole family was cranky! Felt pretty blah all day, with everyone else asleep, I decided on a little late night work out. better late than never! I did two of the cardio spark videos, and went up and down our stairs for a little while. I've been struggling with getting off my butt and exercising, so this weeks challenge is just perfect for me!

Hi, everyone! So, I don't have much more to lose at this point, but I REALLY need a jump-start, so I thought I'd join the challenge. I lost about 20 lbs. with WeightWatchers before switching to SparkPeople last fall, and now I weigh ... well, MORE than I did when I started SP to lose those last few pounds. I alternate between doing really well and then falling back into bad habits (emotional eating, etc.). I'm very short (5 feet), so a little bit of weight makes a big difference, especially in how my clothes fit (or don't)...

I'm back on track as of this morning and working hard to stay healthy and maybe lose a pound this week by weigh-in day!

DABGURLIE on the parents of infants team page towards the bottom are team goals. It will say Orange Team: 30 min of Cardio 3 times per week and there is a link beside it to join goal. Then after it is added you can click track goal or under the my tracker option you can go to other goals and that's where you can put a check. Hope that helps. There's a lot to this site until you get acquainted with it all.

Guys I'm not sure how to track my 30 mins cardio at this stage so I will write it here before I forget lol.

Yesterday 04/03/12
30 min walk=2kms
took and walked kids to a new park = 30 min walk
Played with the kids at the park for an hour.

Feeling good, and this biggest loser challenge is already pushing me to get up and get outside.

If I can get through today, tomorrow will be a breeze!

WOOHOO Team Orange! Can't wait to get to know some of you better :D

I am a 26 year old mother of a 15month old boy living in Vancouver BC. I am a full time mom and also work from home so my days are a constant struggle to try to find time to remember to breathe let alone exercise! Last week was my son's first time in daycare so now that I have 3 full days a week to dedicate to working while he is out of the house I am looking forward to finding a much better balance in my life, including time to fit in healthy food choices and exercise. This challenge came at the perfect time as I work to re-invent my rolls as a mom/businessbuilder/wife/healthy me.
