I was swimming more than a mile before I hurt my back. When the doctor let me resume swimming, I was only doing 1000 meters. Now I am scheduled for heart surgery (procedure) 12/20, but after that, I'm supposed to be a new person. So, I will let you know.

Has anyone here done the "Swimmers Mile" program? I found it on the swimming app (Swim 222), and it seems to be a swimmer's version of the Couch to 5K plan for runners. It takes 6 weeks to complete, swimming 3 days a week. The aim is that by the end of the 6 weeks you have increased your stamina so that you can swim a mile continuously.
I can swim a mile breast stroke, but my stamina when I swim freestyle is hideous! So my aim, by the end of the 6 weeks (or maybe a bit longer, depending on pool access) is for that to be significantly improved.
Anyone else interested? I'll post the details here if you are. And I would love for some company on this challenge!!!
Short-term goal: 5lbs per month. Rinse and repeat....
