How are things going? I would check with a doctor if it continues because maybe there is a medical issue going on (bladder infection or something like that) when he has those issues.

Try doing a puppet trick and see if he talks to the puppet? Ask him questions. How he feels, how he thinks mom feels when he does this? Have you talked to your doctor?

Thanks! I make him clean himself when he does it but he doesn't seem to mind. I'm going to talk to him this evening and see if anything is bothering him.

The question should be, is it worth trying to do, not can it be done.

i know it is hard to have a talk with a 4 year old, but maybe there is something else going on. is he in daycare? Does he stay at home? Is he is school? Sometimes they will act out for different reasons than we can guess. I would start with just asking him. And when my kids had an accident or did it on purpose, they had to clean themselves up, they had to clean the mess up and put their clothes in the washer. I didn't take part in helping. This seemed to work for them, they hated having to clean a dirty mess up. Hope all gets better.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me with my 4 yr. old son. He's been completely potty trained now for quite a while! He'll have a very RARE accident in bed at night, but lately during the day he has been peeing in his pants simply to do it. Most of the time it is while he is outside and doesn't want to come in from playing. But there are many times he does it just while he's watching tv or sitting around with us.

This started about mid summer when my 6 yr. old went to stay with my mom for a week due to no child care for him. (Camp was closed the week of July 4.) The two boys are inseperable so I knew I was going to have some sort of problem. But he turned to wetting his pants as his way of showing his anger toward the situation. It got better when my 6 yr. old came home, but he's still doing it and I don't know how to get him to quit. I've tried telling him several times to go to the bathroom, taking him inside for a while, time outs, discipline and acting like nothing happened. Just tell him to go change. Nothing seems to work! I know he knows when he has to go because he'll come inside occassionally and go potty. Why is he regressing?
