Just wait. He may just be watching now, but if you do it consistently, he will want to "copy" you and want to join in with you.

Sounds like he will be your best cheerleader if anything and that's great!

Went for a short short walk tonight (the stroller has a flat tire). I said we couldnt go, but under my son's suggestion: "Yeah-huh! Me can use my feet!" Lol.

Then I did the 20 min Zumba DVD. He watched me instead of joining, but he enjoyed himself because when I stopped to answer the phone he yelled at me to do it again.

This seems to be working well!

Keep it simple - complications make things... complicated.

Thanks everyone! We walked with the stroller down the road and he wanted to walk on the way back. He kept telling me he was going to be on a team. Lol

Tonight I think I'll break out the Zumba DVD and see how that goes.

ALSO, I'm taking advantage if the nice weather and walking during my lunch break and the 15 minute breaks I get. So, by the end of the day I should have 3 miles in (just one more trip around the block).

I have found that my 3 year old really likes to try the videos with me. The other day we did the 1 mile Walk Away the Pounds DVD and then another night we did the 2 mile one. If you have a Wii, get any of the Just Dance games and they are a good workout with your kids. My 3 year old really likes all of the workout Wii games.
Otherwise just put on some music on the radio and just dance to that.

I sometimes do a Zumba video with my 4 year old. I also will take her in a stroller and go for a walk with her. She starts out walking, but ends up in the stroller.

Calling all parents!!!

Ok, here's the deal: I NEED TO FIND THE TIME TO WORK OUT!!!

I work all day long and don't get home until about 6 pm, and my 3 year old is stuck at daycare from 7:30am - 5:30 pm. I could join the Y or find a sitter - but I'm already away from him too long during the day.

So - I'd like to find workout ideas that I can do WITH my son. Please keep the following in mind:

I have tried to get up early to workout... but yeah - that's hopeless. If I'm the only one depending on me to get up - it ain't happenin!

We do not have a sidewalk (live on a country rd) so I'm not comfortable with letting him ride a tricycle on the road with me b/c there is still quite a bit of traffic.

We live about 10 miles from the nearest playground and it's great for weekends - but I still have to cook dinner so that's not really doable during the week.

My son is heavy... he's about the size of a 4-5 year old (both in height and weight) so the "hold your toddler over your head and let them fly like a bird" exercise I just saw when I googled ideas about knocked me out of my chair!

I'm starting to feel like I'm up the creek without a paddle.
