My soon-to-be 5 year old DD is graduating from her pre-school tomorrow. She will finish the week there and then she's done at that center for good. DS was there before her, so all together, I've been a part of this preschool/childcare center for nearly 8 consecutive years. I'm feeling very sad about leaving this place. Of course, I can't let that show with DD, because I want her to be excited about what is coming up next for her.
Today they had a kindergarten practice day and she looked so big walking in there with her backpack on. Yes, I cried after I dropped her off.
What's more ... I'll have to do this again next year because she is not actually going to kindergarten yet. Due to her late August birthday, we have chosen to hold her out a year. So she will go to a private kindergarten next year and then go to public kindergarten the following year.
Anyone else facing their baby growing up too fast? We can cry on each other's shoulders.
