Hi, I am new to Sparkpeople and to this group! I have a few ideas: I often exercise while my kids take a nap in the afternoon. If they aren't sleeping, they can just stay in their rooms until I'm done! Also, when it's not 95+ degrees outside, I sometimes take them for a walk in my double stroller. But I guess your son may not like that--maybe he could walk alongside you? Those are pretty much my only options b/c my husband is up early for work, and is exhausted from physical labor/or has work around our house when he gets home so I can't expect him to watch the kids at that point. I hope that helps!
My husband and I take advantage of our local Y's programs. We drop the kids off at Kid Care and hit the gym. It gives our kids a chance to play with other kids without us around (I am a SAHM) and we get personal time to do something for ourselves. It's also a great motivator to be accountable to one another for our gym time.

Hi! I have a 3 year old son and a two year old daughter. Exercising when they are awake is IMPOSSIBLE!! So I get up early and go to a 6am boot camp class Monday through Friday. I get back in time to take a shower and for my husband to shower and get ready for work. I'm way to wiped out at night to do it after they go to bed. They are ACTIVE!!!

I have a two year old that insists on running in circles around me while i do my cardio. I let her for as long as I can and then give her something else to do. Try to get your child in on it. Even for 10 min. It may help wear him out and it is healthy for him. When you just can't handle him being under your feet anymore find something for him to do.
You can also do what the other posters said as well. (that just doesn't work for me all the time and so I have to make do.)
