Haven't worked out except walking 10,000 steps a day since Monday because I had emergency dental work done along with the major work I had scheduled and won't be able to do regular workouts until next week! Will keep walking though and try to do stationary bike.

u guys are doing great! Leeward keep up the good work. I just got back from vacation and the only exercise i did was take the stairs instead of the elevator.(we were on the fifth floor.) Worked out today though for 75 minutes. Treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bike. I went swimming too.

Instead of Pilates hips and thighs did another 60 minute zumba class and a 60 minute cardio, pump and power class with lots of lunges with weights and step work and also had a total of 7.75 miles of walking

For Thursday hips glutes and thighs I did 60 minutes of Zumba, 15 minutes on the bike (2.5 miles), 5-10 minutes on the elliptical and over 6 miles of walking!

Tuesday I did 120 of the dumbell chest press. And this morning I did 108 of the calf rocking with chair. I did a little more than five minutes on the chest presses, because I like to do enough to count as sets of 12 and wasn't quite there when five minutes were up. :)

I did the 10 minute jump rope cardio workout today. I did it without the jump rope, because I would be using one of my kids jump ropes and they are easy to miss a skip and get tangled up and I wanted to be able to do it straight through. It was a lot of fun, and those 10 minute workouts on here do seem to make you sweat a lot. :)

I've been forgetting to post. duh.
Monday: OK, I'm a little dumb. I couldn't figure out how to do the reverse plank because I thought it was like a pushup only backwards and I couldn't do that for five minutes. In fact, I couldn't do that at all. I didn't understand at the time that you were just supposed to hold the position. So I did pushups instead. I did 40 in five minutes.
Tuesday: I managed the 10 minute cardio workout, but the sweat poured off of me. My little boy came in and said "ewww, you made the floor all wet and I stepped in it. I'm gonna tell Mama."
Wednesday: So I've been taking this boxing class because I thought it would be a great way to lose weight. Wednesday night we did our first sparring against real opponents and I got KO'd. I dodged into my opponents left hook. {BANG! uggg uhhh I think I am falling down. AIGGGGG what is that terrible smell?} So the next thing I know, the instructor is waving smelling salts under my nose and asking if I can see his fingers. He sent me home. I forgot about exercising and just watched some TV with my wife. Looks like I'm not Rocky.
I will try to do the genie squats today in place of the jumping, which I don't do well w/o pain.

Well I have to admit my exercise is lacking due to packing a house in order to move by the end of the month. But last night I scrubbed the kitchen floor on my hands and knees and I really felt it. But I miss my cardio kickboxing at night. I did manage 25 reverse crunches and 30 min on the noridtrack ski machine so I can be somewhat guilt free.

I managed to work in the Jumpstart Cardio workout and the Genie Sit today. On the genie sit, I couldn't go back very far without my knees hurting, but I did 105 of them in 5 minutes. Wow, I feel the effect too. I love exercises like this, because you can tell that it's working. :)

I didn't get to do yesterday's challenge, but I hope to do it along with todays to make up for it. The last few days I have had some unexpected visitors and was not able to take time for myself. But I plan to get back on track starting today.

Friday I did 60 back extentions. Yesterday I didn't get to do the challenge either. My family had a yardsale all day and I spent most of the time carrying heavy stuff from the garage over to the other side of our house. (We had several desks and file cabinets and the like) Since we only sold one file cabinet, I got quite a workout helping carry them back to the garage too. The time in between I spent going back and forth to get this or that for my hubby and kids while they tended to people who stopped to look.

I, too, did not do the exercise today. It was my wife's birthday and we had a cookout with family and friends in a park. We danced, we played kickball, we walked all over the park (about a 2.5 mile circuit) and then had a little bit of cake and ice cream before calling it a day. All told we were at the park for about 6 hours and we were active more than half of that time. I think I am going to die. Kickball is for the young, not the old and overweight.

fotomaker- sorry, I don't have zumba music - I always do Zumba at the health club and they play a variety of music and change every couple of weeks. Didn't do your exercise of the day because I was hiking at Starved Rock State Park with the Illinois spark rally! It was great and also was our 39th anniversary!

Pushups are hard. I did standard pushups, but I could only manage 36 in five minutes, even with resting between sets of 10 before my arms were rubber and I couldn't do it anymore. Pretty sad, but we are all here to become better, stronger, faster and smarter versions of our current selves. I will probably be able to do more next year. I hope.

Didn't think I would make it through today's challenge. Pushups are one of those exercises that I have a lot of trouble doing. I managed to do 10 the regular way (tried on my knees, but it bothered my knees too much-don't have a good mat to use). Then since I knew there was no way I could do anymore that way, I did wall pushups instead 100 of those, and boy do I feel it in my arms now! I am loving the extras I get from doing this challenge!

Well, I set my timer for 5 minutes and jumped rope the 5 minutes, but had a few interruptions for a few seconds each because my 3 year old daughter wanted to "jump with" me, so I jumped rope for 3 more minutes to be sure that I actually got 5 minutes. I am not sure on the count, because it was hard to keep count while I was trying to stay out of her way :) but I know I counted over 300 before I got all messed up. And luckily the pain in my knees has let up a little. I think it may have to do with the shoes I had been wearing. I started wearing my old pair again, and I haven't had nearly as much trouble with my knees.

Did 25 jump ropes - something I couldn't even do 1 of a few months ago! This was a lot easier 50 years ago!! Yes I am going to be 60 in a few months but I am the legal guardian for my 10 year old grandson and have been raising him since he was 3. He's one of the reasons I had to work so hard to back into the shape of a 35 year old mom!!!!

The jump rope and I are not friends for the same reason that I can't do jumping jacks. However, I tried to do something like jumping rope, kinda. I did kickbacks. I did 221 kickbacks in 5 minutes. I would have gotten more if it hadn't been for that dastardly right thigh cramp that took me out of commission at the 4:12 mark. OUCH.

Yeah i did my crunches today too. Didn't count but I did a few different ones. I did them for 5 minutes. Hope everyone is doing well.

Running a little behind today, but I did 48 crunches, 48 reverse crunches, and 24 crunches with twist, so 120 total crunches so far today. I like the regular crunches and the reverse crunches best, but all of them are great to help tone where I need it most.

got 45 jumping jacks in then got a cramp in my calf (also rode my bike that day, so didn't want to stress my calf out to much)

did 60 jumping jacks and a few variations of squats
had to do them today I have been busy.

0 Jumping Jacks, but I high-step marched (lifting knee until thigh is parallel with the ground) for five minutes.

I managed to do 60 jumping jacks today. My knees only hurt when bending them, the jumping doesn't seem to bother them as long as I don't do too much. :) I have only had trouble with them for a little over a year, and it started with only one, now having trouble with both, but mainly when sitting or trying to squat. On the squats, I always make sure I am doing them correctly and I only go down as far as I can until they start to hurt, so I can modify most exercises to what I am comfortable with. This is a really fun challenge!

Hey guys! great job on the squats! Today is jumping jacks. If you can't do jumping jacks switch to a different cardio activity. Something to get the heart pumping. You could try marching in place. Try to get your knees up high. Anything will do as long as you get the heart going. C'mon guys and gals I know you can do it. Keep up the good work! I'm off to work so see you guys later.

Friday Squats 50
Hey those that can't do some of the exercises. Modify them like doing half jumping jacks (you only move the half that you can) or do them in water. Or like Jump rope change to a exercise that you can do. It's all about doing your best.

OK. I will try, but you will have to count me out on the jumping jacks. This jack don't jump no more due to damaged knees. I did 81 squats in 5 minutes.
